ABSTRACT

A recuperação após o exercício é um desafio para o atleta moderno. Aspectos importantes incluem a restauração dos estoque de glicogênio muscular e hepático. A reposição do glicogênio muscular, após o exercício prolongado, ocorre de modo bifásico. Três estímulos primários regulam a captação de glicose pela célula muscular esquelética, a própria contração muscular; a concentração de insulina e a disponibilidade de carboidratos. O tempo transcorrido após o término do exercício, a quantidade, a freqüência, o tipo e forma do carboidrato, bem como a presença de outros macronutrientes na refeição, pós exercício, são aspectos que irão modular o processo de reposição...

ABSTRACT

The mechanism by which obesity leads to type 2 diabetes mellitus is unknown. It is generally agreed that insulin resistance is an invariable accompaniment of obesity but that normoglycemia is maintained by compensatory hiperinsulinemia until the pancreatic B cells become unable to meet the increased demand for insulin, at which point type 2 diabetes mellitus begins. The precise cause of insulin resistance is yet to be determined, but is association with obesity has long been established. Recent data has implied free fatty acids tumoral necrosis factor - alfa, muscle fiber type II b and leptin, as a link resistance and obesity
