RESUMEN

This study was conducted on 20 patients with acute myocardial infarction [AMI] and 20 healthy persons, as a control group, they were clinically free from any systemic disease. It was found that the mean TAT level was highly significantly increased in patients with AMI when compared to healthy persons and can be used as an additional criteria for diagnosis of AMI. There was a positive correlation between the mean level of TAT and the extent of infarction. After administration of thrombolytic therapy there was another elevation in the mean TAT level which may indicate reperfusion of the infarct area. Also, after administration of heparin, here was another elevation which may be due to the fact that heparin accelerate the reaction between thrombin and antithrombin III

RESUMEN

This study was conducted on 180 infants with gastroenteritis their ages ranged from half month to 16 months. They were divided into three groups according to their type of feeding [breast fed, Mixed fed and Nonbreast fed]. All studied cases were subjected to careful history taking and examination. Their stool samples were examined for detection of Rotavirus antigen using Enzygnost Rotavirus antigen. Milk samples from mothers of breast fed and mixed fed infants were tested by microcomplement fixation test to estimate the antibody titre against rotavirus. Results showed significant lower frequency of vomiting and diarrhea among breast-fed and mixed fed infants than that among non breast fed. Also Breast fed infants showed milder degree of dehydration than that found among both nonbreast fed and mixed fed with statistically significant difference. Breast fed infants with Rotavirus gastroenteritis complained of milder degree of dehydration than that among mixed fed and artificially fed
