RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE@#To develop a method for R-peak detection of ECG data from wearable devices to allow accurate estimation of the physiological parameters including heart rate and heart rate variability.@*METHODS@#A fully convolutional neural network was applied to predict the R-peak heatmap of ECG data and locate the R-peak positions. The heartbeat-aware (HA) module was introduced to enable the model to learn to predict the heartbeat number and R-peak heatmap simultaneously, thereby improving the capability of the model for extraction of the global context. The R-R interval estimated by the predicted heartbeat number was adopted to calculate the minimum horizontal distance for peak positioning. To achieve real-time R-peak detection on mobile devices, the deep separable convolution was adopted to reduce the number of parameters and the computational complexity of the model.@*RESULTS@#The proposed model was trained only with ECG data from wearable devices. At a tolerance window interval of 150 ms, the proposed method achieved R peak detection sensitivities of 100% for both wearable device ECG dataset and a public dataset (i.e. LUDB), and the true positivity rates exceeded 99.9%. As for the ECG signal of a 10 s duration, the CPU time of the proposed method for R-peak detection was about 23.2 ms.@*CONCLUSION@#The proposed method has good performance for R-peak detection of both wearable device ECG data and routine ECG data and also allows real-time R-peak detection of the ECG data.

RESUMEN

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To establish a single cell-derived organ site-specific metastatic model of human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in the nude mouse.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Using the limited dilution method, HCCLM3-R-LM1 and HCCLM3-R-LnM1 cell lines were used to generate eight (LM1-S2, -S3, -S4, -S5, -S11, -S15, -S21, and -S23) and five (LnM1-S7, -S11, -S13, -S17, and -S20) single cell-derived monoclonal cell lines, respectively. The monoclonal cell lines were seeded into 4-week-old nude mice, and three weeks later the resultant subcutaneous tumor tissues were orthotopically transplanted into the livers of nude mice. At six weeks after implantation, lung and lymph node were extracted for analysis of the metastatic foci fluorescence area and pathology to assess the number of metastatic foci.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>Among the 13 mice implanted with the established monoclonal cell lines, six grew subcutaneous tumors. When orthotopically transplanted, the six tumors showed remarkably different metastatic potential and organ site-specific tropism. The fluorescence areas of lung metastatic foci were: LM1-S3, 80 923+/-10 162; LM1-S4, 1506 000+/-297 064; LM1-S5, 36 140+/-8 210; and LM1-S11, 508 448+/-134 272 (P less than 0.01); no lymph node metastases were found for these lines. For LnM1-S11, the fluorescence areas of lung and lymph node metastatic foci were 435 062+/-206 620 and 1 254 000+/-225 171, respectively.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>We successfully established several monoclonal cell lines and nude mouse models of HCC with different metastatic potential and organ tropism. Among them, LM1-S3, LM1-S4, LM1-S5, and LM1-S11 have metastasis organotropism to lung. The LnM1-S11 line exhibits dual metastasis organotropism to lung and lymph node. These monoclonal cell lines and nude mouse models may represent useful tools for study of HCC metastasis organotropism.</p>

RESUMEN

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To explore the effect of recombinant human adenovirus p53 (rAd-p53) combined with cisplatin on the expression of human lung adenocarcinoma A549 cells.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Human lung adenocarcinoma A549 cells were treated with rAd-p53 combined with cisplatin (combination group) or with cisplatin alone(cisplatin group). The expressions of the cell genes were compared between these two groups and the results were analyzed by SAM software.</p><p><b>RESULT</b>A total of 43 differential genes were found, 15 of which were up-regulated and 28 were down-regulated.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>Following introduction of rAd-p53, many genes regulating cell cycle, proliferation and apoptosis expresses up or down which significantly enhance chemosensitivity and killing efficiency of cisplatin on human lung adenocarcinoma A549 cells.</p>

RESUMEN

Objective To observe the effect of electro-acupuncture combined with early rehabilitation on the motor function and expressions of the adhesion molecules CD11b and CD18 in the polymorphonuclear leucocytes (PMN) and monocytes and serum tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) levels in patients with acute cerebral infarction (ACI). Methods A total of 165 ACI patients were randomly divided into control group (group A, n=50), conventional rehabilitation group (group B, n=50) and comprehensive rehabilitation group (group C, n=65). The expressions of CD11b and CD18 in the PMN and monocytes and serum TNF-α levels were determined before and at 1, 2, and 4 weeks after the treatment. Thirty-two healthy subjects were also recruited as the normal control group (group N). The neurological function of the subjects was evaluated by modified Edinburgh-Scandinavia stroke scale (MESSS) and Fugi-Meyer Assessment (FMA), and their activity of daily living (ADL) was assessed using Barthel index (BI). Results The CD11b/CD18 expression in the PMN and MN and serum TNF-α level in groups A, B and C were significantly higher than those in group N before and 1 week after the treatment (P<0.05). CD11b/CD18 expression and serum TNF-α level were significantly lower in groups B and C than in the group A at 1 week after the treatment, and significantly lower in group C than in group B (P<0.05). At 2 weeks of treatment, CD11b/CD18 and TNF-α were significantly lower in groups B and C than in the group A, being the lowest in group C (P<0.05). The scores of mESSS in both groups B and C were lower than that in group A, and the scores were lower in group C than in group B. Group C showed higher FMA scores than group B, both having higher scores than group A. At 4 weeks of treatment, the mESSS scores were significantly lower, hut the FMA and ADL score significantly higher in groups B and C than in the control group (P<0.05), and the differences were more obvious in group C. Groups B and C had greater effective rate than group A (P<0.05), and the rate was the highest in group C (P<0.05). Conclusion Electro-acupuncture combined with early rehabilitation promotes the recovery of motor function in ACI patients probably by regulating the expressions of the adhesion molecules CD11b and CD18 on the PMN and monocytes and the serum levels of TNF-α.

RESUMEN

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To repair cartilage defects at non-weight-bearing area of the femoral condyle in rabbits with invitro amplified cartilage cell using calcium alginate column scaffold combined with calcium alginate gel injection, and to study repair effects of combination with different form of the same material.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Twenty-four New Zealand rabbits were divided into 4 groups randomly. The wounds of rabbits in the Group 1 were repaired with injection of calcium alginate gel; the wounds of rabbits in the Group 2 were repaired with in planting of calcium alginate column scaffold; the wounds of rabbits in the Group 3 were repaired with in planting of calcium alginate column supporter firstly, and then injection of calcium alginate gel at the surrounding; and Group 4 is control group, the rabbits in the group were repair and without any support. The repair effects were demonstrated with Xij, and the effects of all animals were studied with statistical analysis.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>The Xij scores of each rabbits were calculated, and the scores in four groups were compared. The statistical results showed that combination therapy was better than other methods (F = 69.0, P < 0.05).</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>The calcium alginate with column shape has better shaping effects and certain mechanical strength. The calcium alginate gel has better stick nature and can be used to integrate artifical material with normal structure. They can be used together, which meeting the desire of repair and integration in cartilaginous tissue engineering.</p>

RESUMEN

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To explore the relation between p53 protein expression and chemosensitivity to cisplatin in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).</p><p><b>METHODS</b>The DerSimonian-Laird random effect model was used to analyze the data reported in relevant literature.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>Sixteen trials involving 1070 patients were retrieved. The overall positivity rate of p53 was 50.4% and overall response rate to cisplatin was 38.7%. The test for heterogeneity showed that all eligible studies had heterogeneity (chi 2-/+47.57, P<0.0001). The combined odds ratio (OR) was 1.37, with 95% confidence interval of 0.84-2.24.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>Expression of p53 protein in patients with NSCLC is not associated with the chemosensitivity to cisplatin.</p>

RESUMEN

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To study the effects of kaixinsan on behavior and expression of p-CREB in hippocampus of the chronic stress rats.</p><p><b>METHOD</b>The male Wistar rats which gained the similar scores by Open-field test were selected, then the depression model rat was produced by separation and chronic unpredictable mild stress. Open-field test was performed to detect the behavior of rats and immunohistochemistry was used to observe the changes of p-CREB expression in hippocampus.</p><p><b>RESULT</b>On the 22nd day, the body weight and sacchar-intake of the depression model rats were all lower than those of the normal rats and the body weight and sacchar-intake of the rats treated by drugs were higher compared with model rats (P < 0.01). The depressive behavior in kaixinsan 4 g x kg(-1) group was significantly improved compared with the model group, the crossing scores and rearing scores were all increased (P < 0.01) and the expression of p-CREB in CA1, CA3 and DG in hippocampus was higher than that in the model group (P < 0.05 and P < 0.01).</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>Kaixinsan might improve depressive behavior by increasing expression of p-CREB in CA1, CA3 and DG in hippocampus of the chronic stress rats.</p>

RESUMEN

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To investigate the clinical effect of Erigeron injection (El) on positive expression rate of CD62p in platelet and content of tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) in serum of patients with acute cerebral infarction (ACI).</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Sixty-eight patients with ACI were randomly divided into the treated group (n = 35) and the control group (n = 33). Conventional treatment were given to both groups, and EI 40 ml/d were given additionally to the treated group, the treatment course for both groups was 15 days. The positive expression of platelet CD62p and the serum TNF-alpha and IL-6 in patients before and after treatment were determined with flow cytometric (FCM) and electrochemical-luminescence (ECL) techniques respectively.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>The total curative effect in the treated group were significantly higher than that in the control group (P < 0.05). Levels of platelet CD62p and serum TNF-alpha and IL-6 in ACI patients before and after treatment were significant higher than those in the healthy group (P < 0.05), all the three parameters were significantly decreased after treatment, and the lowering in the treated group was more significant than that in the control group (P < 0.05).</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>The effect of El on ACI patients may relate to its action in down-regulating the expression of platelet CD62p, alleviating the immune response and inflammatory injury of central nervous system induced by cytokines.</p>

RESUMEN

Objective To investigate the effects of functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI)with acute ischemic stroke (AIS) patients,and to evaluate the relationship between brain reorganization and motor recovery.Methods Nine AIS patients and 9 healthy volunteers were assessed by fMR1 during passive finger clenching at a pace of 1 Hz.The fMRI results were analyzed using SPM2 software.Lateral indices (LIs) and activated regions were calculated,and the relationship between LI and muscle strength was examined.Results In the control group,activation was observed in the contralateral sensorimotor cortex (SMC) and the bilateral supplementary area (SMA) during the passive movement.In the AIS group,similar results were recorded dur- ing unaffected hand movement,but the ipsilateral activation areas were greater than those on the eontralateral side during movement of the affected hand.LI results confirmed that movement of the affected hand mainly elici- ted activation in the ipsilateral hemisphere.Conclusion The different fMRI manifestations of patients and nor- mal subjects reflect brain compensation,and fMRI is valuable for studying the correlation between motor function and brain reorganization.
