RESUMEN

Endoplasmic reticulum plays a key role in both basic structure formation and function performance of microenviron-ment. Endoplasmic reticulum homeostasis unbalance caused by endoplasmic reticulum stress has become a hot research topic in recent years. This paper focuses on the role of endoplasmic retic-ulum stress in ischemic stroke. Research progress of related sig-naling pathways were reviewed, especially mechanisms through which endoplasmic reticulum stress trigger the inflammatory reac-tion, so as to provide a new research method for prevention of is-chemic stroke.

RESUMEN

A novel type of carbon nanotube-coated Au nanoparticle and [bmim]BF4 composite modified glassy carbon electrode was fabricated by a layer-by-layer self-assembly technique. The electrochemical performance of acetaminophen (ACOP) on the modified electrode was investigated by cyclic voltammetry. The Nafion/GNPs/RTIL/MWNTs/GC electrode showed an excellent electrocatalytic activity for the oxidation of ACOP and accelerated electron transfer between the electrode and ACOP. For ACOP, the reversible electrochemical process was observed on the Nafion/GNPs/RTIL/MWNTs/GC electrode, while irreversible electrochemical process occurred on the GC electrode. For the Nafion/GNPs/RTIL/MWNTs/GC electrode, the anodic peak potential of ACOP was moved from 0.562 V to 0.413 V, with a potential drop of 149 mV. At the same time, the reduction peak potential was 0.384 V, and the potential difference was only 29 mV. It was shown that the modified electrode possessed higher electrocatalytic activity and more sensitive effect for the detection of ACOP than both MWNTs/GC electrode and GC electrode. The effects of the different experimental conditions on the electrochemical behaviors of ACOP were explored. Under the optimum conditions of preparation and experimental, the linear calibration curves of ACOP were obtained in a wide range of 2 x 10(-1) to 4.0 x 10(-4) mol x L(-1) with a correlation coefficient 0.999 2 and a detection limit of 2.6 x 10(-8) mol x L(-1) (the ratio of signal to noise, 3:1). The recovery rate was 97.9%-100.8%. This method can be used to determine ACOP in paracetamol tablets with satisfactory results.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVETo investigate the effects of resveratrol (Res) on neonatal rat cardiomyocyte lesion induced by hypoxia.

METHODThe cardiomyocyte of neonatal rats were cultured in vitro and the model of cardiomyocyte hypoxia was established. The cardiomyocyte vitalities were determined by MTT assay, the HIF-1alpha expression levels in myocardial cells was detected by immunohistochemical, the activities of peroxidase (GSH-Px) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) were measured as well.

RESULTAfter the administration of hypoxia for 24 hours, the HIF-1alpha expression in myocardial cells was significantly increased. The LDH level in the culture medium was increased from (93.07 +/- 15.84) U x L(-1) to (750.77 +/- 181.51) U x L(-1) (P < 0.01). The intracellular GSH-Px activity was decreased from (46.96 +/- 8.36) U x mL(-1) to (27.13 +/- 4.76) U x mL(-1) (P < 0.05). Res 25, 50 and 75 micromol x L(-1) could dose-dependently inhibit the raising of the HIF-1alpha expression in myocardial cells induced by hypoxia. The LDH activities were decreased dose-dependently to (486.17 +/- 69.97), (189.43 +/- 32.07), (155.34 +/- 29.57) U x L(-1), respectively (P <0.05 or P <0.01). The GSH-Px activities were increased dose-dependently (33.55 +/- 6.34), (37.67 +/- 6.73), (41.44 +/- 7.91) U x mL(-1) (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01).

CONCLUSIONRes has a protective effect on neonatal rat cardiomyocyte lesion induced by hypoxia.

RESUMEN

Objective To investigate basic fibroblast grow th factor (bFGF) and CDI05 in gastric carcinoma and its biological be-havior. Methods bFGF, microvessel density (MVD) and stomach cancer cell S phase fraction (SPF) in 60 samples from stomach cancer patients and 20 samples from normal stomach were detected with immunohistochemistry.. Apoptosis in stomach cancer was determined with TUNEL and apoptosis rate (AR) was calculated. Results bFGF protein expression, MVD and SPF in stomach cancer patients were obvi-ously higher than that normal health controls, but AR were lower, bFGF and MVD showed positive relationship with SPF, and negative with AR. Conclusion bFGF possibly increased the MVD state, promoted stomach cancer cell multiplication, suppressed stomach cancer cell ap-optosis.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Hypertrophic scar results from imbalance between local collagen synthesis and degradation and abnormal aggregation of collagen after burn and trauma.OBJECTIVE: To observe the effects of collagenase on collagen degradation in nude mice with graft of hypertrophic scar and its therapeutic effects on hyertrophic scar.DESIGN: Controlled experiment was designed.SETTING: Department of Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy,Southwest Hospital, Third Military Medical University of Chinese PLA MATERIALS: The experiment was performed in Experimental Center of the Third Military Medical University of Chinese PLA from July 1995 to April 1997, in which, 10 specimens of hypertrophic scar were employed, collected from the removed hypertrophic scars in Department of Plastic Surgery. All of patients were in the known before the operation. Experimental animals were 15 BACB/C nude mice, of which, 8 mice were male and 7 mice female.Totally 15 mice were grafted with hypertrophic scar tissue, 10 mice of which were survived after once graft; with second graft in the rest mice, 2 mice were survived and 3 mice were dead. The survival nude mice were randomized into experimental group and the control, 6 mice in each one.METHODS: The removed hypertrophic scars in plastic operation were grafted in the wound on the dorsum of nude mice to establish graft model of hypertrophic scar. In experimental group, 1% collagenase was injected locally in scar tissue; in the control group, collagease solvent was injected locally, once a week, for 4 weeks totally. After treatment, the materials were collected for macrogcopic observation and observation and analysis with optic and electronic microscopes.scar tissue before and after treatment.RESULTS: Twelve nude mice were survived after scar graft and all of them entered result analysis, 6 mice of which were in experimental group was smaller in size, thinner in thickness and softer in quality compared staining, Van Gieson's collagenous fiber staining and compound staining on slices, it was displayed that in experimental group, dermal layer became thin, collagenous fiber was unclear in structure and disperse in arrangement, but in the control, the dermal layer of scar tissue was hypertrophic microscopic observation, in experimental group, collagenous fibers were destroyed and unclear in structure, but in the control, collagenous fibers were disturbed in arrangement with distinct strips and clear structure.CONCLUSION: Collagenase degrades collagen of hypertrophic scar, lessens and softens scar, suggesting that local injection of collagease is probably a good therapy for hypertrophic scar.
