Sixty females cervices were collected from archival fixed paraffin wax embedded tissue blocks [30 carcinoma, 6 CIN 3, 4 CIN 2, 9 CIN 1, 5 hyperplasia, 6 control]. Sections were prepared for examination hematoxylin eosin and silver stain for counting AgNORs per nucleus. AgNORs were significantly increased in carcinoma of the cervix followed by CIN 3, CIN 2, CIN, hyperplasia and the least value is the control cases

RESUMEN

Endometrial samples by Novak curette were taken from 42 cases [10 not weaning IUD, 12 weaning the device with normal menstruation, 10 with menorrhagia, 10 with metrorrhagia], studied for mast cell counting and SA% of endometrial vascularity by counting graticule. The SA% is not affected by neither age, parity nor duration of IUD insertion. Increased number of mast cells in cases where bleeding complicating wearing IUCD that highly significant in metrorrhagia is studied

RESUMEN

Thirty six endometrial curette samples [10 cystic hyperplasia, 16 adenomatous hyperplasia without atypia, 3 glandular hyperplasia with atypia and 7 cases of endometrial adenocarcinoma] were studied for counting the NORs. There is a significant rise in NORs count in glandular hyperplasia with atypia and adenocarcinoma when compared with cystic hyperplasia or adenomatous type without atypia. No significant changes in the NORs count between the adenocarcinoma and the glandular hyperplasia with atypia were shown

RESUMEN

Thirty two cases of epithelial ovarian tumors [24 malignant and 8 benign] were studied for AgNORs count/nucleus. There is a significant decrease in AgNORs in grade 2, 2-3 when compared with grade 1 and benign cases. No significant changes present in AgNORs count between the different histological types. The significant changes in AgNORs count are mostly seen with papillary cystadenocarcinoma
