RESUMEN

Objective To investigate the effect of integrative Chinese and western treatment in gouty nephropathy. Methods 200 cases of gouty nephropathy were divided into Integrative Medicine group( treatment group,n =100)and allopurinol treatment group( control group,n =100),The symptom scores, blood urea nitrogen(BUN),creatinine(CR),serum uric acid(UA),24h urinary protein excretion were observed. Results After treatment symptom scores were significantly lower than before treatment ( P < 0.05 ~ 0.01 ) ; treatment group were lower than the control group( P <0.05 );Total effective rate of the treatment group( 86.0% ) was significantly higher than that of the control group(75.0% ) (P < 0.05 ) ;After treatment, the renal function was significantly improved, but that of the treatment group was better than the control group( P < 0.05 ).Conclusion Integrative Medicine in the treatment of gouty nephropathy had a good effect.

RESUMEN

Objective To study the kinematic characteristics of normal subjects and hemiplegic patients in activities of daily living (ADL) by three-dimensional (3D) kinematic analysis. Methods A Vicon motion capture system was used to record 3D kinematic data on 15 normal subjects ( the healthy group) and 10 hemiparetic patients (the hemiplegic group) performing 5 ADL tasks: reaching up, combing, drinking, touching the opposite shoulder and touching the back pocket. The movement times and the 3D motion angles of the sternoclavicular joint, the acromioclavicular joint, the shoulder joint, the elbow joint and the wrist joint were recorded. Three-dimensional joint angles and movement times were compared between the normal group and the hemiplegic group. Results Compared with the normal group, the hemiplegic group had significantly more lateral rotation and abduction of the sternoclavicular joint, medial rotation and extension of the acromioclavicular joint and flexion of the elbow joint. The hemiplegics used significantly less medial rotation of the sternoclavicular joint and adduction/abduction, flexion/extension and lateraL/medial rotation of the shoulder joint. Additionally, the hemiplegic group showed significantly longer movement times. Conclusion Hemiplegics use different joint motor patterns from healthy subjects in completing ADL actions.

RESUMEN

Seven cases scheduled for cesarean section following combined spinal-epidural anesthesia, complicating the premature detachment of placenta, which occurred in the 2nd Affdiated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical College from January 1997 to December 2006,were analyzed to determine the risk factors. The results showed that the supine hypotensive syndrome after combined spinal-epidural anesthesia and anxiety before cesarean section were closely related to the premature detachment of placenta. The incidence rate of the premature detachment of placenta after combined spinal-epidural anesthesia is low,but the prermature of detachment of placenta is severe if it occurs, and the effectively prophylactic measures should be taken, including premedication with midazolam to eliminate anxiety before cesarean section and prevention of supine hypotensive syndrome after combined spinal-epidural anesthesia.

RESUMEN

The multiplex polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technique was applied to detect the SARS-CoV (severe acute respiratory syndrome-associated coronavirus) specific target cDNA fragments in the present study. The target cDNA fragments of SARS-CoV were synthesized artificially according to the genome sequence of SARS-CoV in GenBank submitted by The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and were used as simulated positive samples. Five primers recommended by World Health Organization (WHO) were used to amplify the fragments by single PCR and multiplex PCR. Three target cDNA fragments (121, 182 and 302 bp), as well as the three different combinations of any two of these fragments, were amplified by single PCR. The combination of these three fragments was amplified by multiplex PCR. The results indicated that the multiplex PCR technique could be applied to detect the SARS-CoV specific target cDNA fragments successfully.
