RESUMEN

Intra-arterial chemotherapy (IAC), also known as superselective ophthalmic artery chemotherapy or chemosurgery, is currently widely accepted as one of the primary treatment modalities for intraocular retinoblastoma worldwide. Following the introduction of the technique in 1998, IAC has evolved over the past decades to be safer and more effective. Accumulated evidence shows that IAC is more effective in providing eye salvage in group D and E retinoblastoma as compared to conventional systemic intravenous chemotherapy (IVC). In contrast to IVC, IAC has the added benefits of reduced overall treatment duration and minimal systemic toxicity. This review provides a comprehensive update on the history, technique, indications, contraindications, and outcome of IAC. We have also identified the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT analysis) of the technique in this review.

RESUMEN

Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of iliac artery interventional chemotherapy combination with bladder perfusion for high level of bladder urothelial carcinoma after transurethral bladder tumor electricity cut operation for those who intend to retain the bladder. Methods From February 2010 to December 2016,a total of 74 cases high-grade urothelial carcinoma of the bladder, giving chemotherapy and suitted support were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were divided into two groups according to different chemotherapy methods.Artery perfusion chemotherapy group:43 cases treated by transurethral bladder tumor cutting + bilateral iliac artery interventional perfusion chemotherapy + bladder perfusion in combination therapy;Intravenous chemotherapy group:31 cases underwent transurethral bladder tumor cut method + cisplatin, vein gemcitabine + bladder perfusion chemotherapy combined therapy.According to the ((x) ± s) between the groups. The method of count data is represented by chi-square test.Kaplan-meier method was used to describe the survival time of two groups of patients after operation. Results Two groups of patients with postoperative there was no statistically significant difference in disease-free survival time.In the bone marrow suppression (x2 =4.956,P =0.029);gastrointestinal tract reaction (x2 =5.912,P =0.012);dermatitis,mucositis (x2 =4.276,P =0.013),etc.,has the advantages in the iliac artery interventional perfusion chemotherapy (P < 0.05).Conclusion Via efficient iliac arterial infusion chemotherapy in patients with venous chemotherapy patients,to the retention of the bladder has a certain value, and the incidence of adverse reactions after surgery is low, have certain advantages.

RESUMEN

Objective To analyze the outcome of intra-artery chemotherapy for T1G3 bladder cancer , and its effectiveness and safety. Methods From June 2003 to May 2014, 39 patients with T1G3 bladder cancer chose intra-artery chemotherapy (Gemcitabine plus cis-platin), and close follow-up was required after 2 cycles of chemotherapy. During the follow-up, transurethral resection of bladder tumor was performed for non-muscle invasive bladder cancer, and cystectomy was performed for muscle invasive tumor. Results Of all patients, 32 were male and 7 were female. The median age was 56 years old (range: 32-82 years), and median follow-up time was 56 months (range: 12-136 months). Nineteen patients were primary bladder cancer, and 20 were recurrent tumor. During the follow-up, 17 patients developed recurrent tumors, including 8 progressed tumors and 3 died from tumor. Two-year and 5-year progressed-free survival were 88% and 74%, and 2-year and 5-year cancer-specific survival were 97% and 89%, respectively. During 5 years′ follow-up, 81% survivor preserved intact bladder, and only 1 patient cancelled chemotherapy for adverse effect. Conclusions Intra-artery chemotherapy (GC regimen) is a choice for T1G3bladder cancer, preventing from disease progression with good tolerance.

RESUMEN

Objective To explore the role of transemetil combined with various chemotherapy agents under the circumstance of continuous arterial infusion.Method MTT assays in cultured HepG2 and 7702 in vitro were used to detect the effects different sequences among different chemotherapy agents combined with transemetil. Results When combined with docetaxel,epirubicin,5-fluorouracil,pemetrexed disodium, cisplatin,or gemcitabine, transemetil had a synergistic effect. When combined with other agents, there was no synergistic or antagonistic effect. The synergistic effects were observed when transemetil acted during or after the use of chemotherapy agents. However, when chemotherapy agents were mixed with transemetil in advance, their effects decreased. Conclusion Transemetil showed an obvious synergistic effect when combined with certain chemotherapy agents.Different sequences between transemetil and chemotherapy agents showed different effects, and the mechanisms need further research to fully understand.

RESUMEN

Objective To evaluate the effects of preoperative regional artery chemotherapy (PRACT) on gastric carcinoma. Methods Celiac arteriography was performed by transfemoral artery catheter according to Seldinger's method and superselective catheterization proceeded to the supplying artery of focus of lesion. Antineoplastic agents of Fluorodeoxyuridine (FUDR)(0.8 g/m 2), epirubicin(40 mg/m 2), oxaliplatin(80 mg/m 2) were infused into regional artery by a single administration. The specimens from 14 cases of gastric carcinoma(GC) who received PRACT were separated into pre operation group and post operation group. Both microscopic study to observe the necrosis of cancer cell and TUNEL(TdT mediated dUTP nick end labeling) method to detect the state of apoptosis were performed respectively in the two groups. Correlation of apoptosis index (AI) between the two groups, as well as correlation between the situation of necrotic tumor cell and the blood vessel, was analyzed. Results The severity of the necrosis of tumor cell was significantly higher in the PRACT group than that in the untreated group ( P

RESUMEN

Objective To evaluate the effects of irregular hepatectomy combined with chemotherapy by placing pump inside hepatic artery on the postoperative recurrence rate and the postoperative survival rate. Methods The clinical data of 66 cases of hepatic cancer treated in the last 15 years were reviewed. 48 cases out of 66 cases were treated with simple hepatectomy and 18 cases with hepatectomy combined with chemotherapy by placing pump inside hepatic artery. Results There was a significant diference in the 1 year or 3 years or 5 years recurrence rate which were 66.7% to 38.9%, 85.4% to 55.6%, 93.8% to 72.2%, respectively in simple hepatectomy group and operation-chemotherapy group ( P

RESUMEN

Objective To study the clinical effects of intra internal iliac arterial chemotherapy for invasive bladder cancer after operation. Methods From February 1997 to June 2000,32 cases of invasive bladder cancer underwent partial cystectomy and arterial infusion pump implanted into the intra internal iliac artery, for postoperative chemotherapy. Results The patients have been followed up for 5~42 months, with a mean of 26 months,27 of the 32 patients have been free from the tumor, metastasis to lung and liver was noted in 2.Recurrence occurred in 3?10?16?30 months after operation respectively.Few side effects were noted. Conclusions Intra arterial chemotherapy might serve as an adjuvant therapy for invasive bladder cancer after operation.

RESUMEN

Objective To find out how to choose the doses of hepatic artery chemotherapy(HAC)in hepatic cell carcinoma(HCC) cases with abnormal liver function. Methods There were 80 HCC patients with one or more liver function index(ALT,AST,TB,DB)above at least 2 times normal, who underwent 105 times HAC or hepatic artery chemoembolization(HACE) with routine chemotherapy doses, and their pre-and postoperative liver and kidney functions had been observing by the end of three weeks after HAC or HACE.Results 1.Postoperative ALT and AST took a favorable turn in preoperative ALT ≥80 U/L group(44 cases)(?
