Expression of neuropeptide Y, calcitonin gene related peptide and inducible nitric oxide synthase in myocardium of rats with heart failure / 解剖学报

Objective To explore the relationship between the content of neuropeptide Y (NPY), calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP), inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and the changes of the corresponding receptors in myocardial tissue and the development of heart failure. Methods Doxorubicin was used to prepare rat heart failure models(10 rats), control group (10 rats), Cardiac ultrasound testing evaluated its cardiac function, the distribution of nerve fibers was detected by nerve staining kit method, the tissue expression levels of NPY, CGRP, iNOS and neuropeptide Y receptor Y1 (NPY1R), receptor activity modifying protein 1 (RAMP1), guanylate cyclase beta 1(GCYB1) were observed by immunofluorescence and immunohistochemical staining method. Western blotting was used to detect the protein expression levels of NPY, CGRP, iNOS and NPY1R, RAMP1, GCYB1 receptors in myocardial tissue. Results Compared with the control group, the protein expression level and tissue expression distribution of CGRP in the myocardial tissue of the heart failure group were significantly decreased (P<0.05), while the density of nerve fibers, the protein expression level and tissue expression distribution of NPY and iNOS were significantly increased (P<0.05). The protein expression levels of GCYB1 and RAMP1 in myocardial tissue of the heart failure group were significantly increased, while the protein expression levels of NPY1R were significantly decreased (P<0.05). Conclusion Heart failure can lead to remodeling of the content and distribution of nerve fibers, CGRP, NPY, iNOS and their receptors in myocardial tissue, which may be one of the causes of cardiac innervation disorders.

Expression of elastin and collagen in rats with heart failure / 解剖学报

Objective To investigate the expression of elastin and collagen in heart of rats with chronic heart failure and their related proteases. Methods Sprague-Dawley rat model of chronic heart failure was made by intraperitoneal injection of doxorubicin hydrochloride. Examination of cardiac function by echocardiography. ELISA and immunohistochemistry were used to detect brain natriuretic peptide ( BNP) , and Masson staining was used to detect myocardial fibrosis. The mRNA levels of elastin, I /IH collagen were detected by Real-time PCR and the expression levels of elastin, I/IH collagen, Matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-2 and MMP-9 were detected by Western blotting. Results Compared with the control group, the heart function of rats in the model group decreased, the BNP content in serum increased, the expression of BNP in myocardial tissue was strongly positive, and the mRNA and protein expression of elastin decreased. Nevertheless, the mRNA and protein expression of I / IH collagen increased. At the same time, both MMP-2 and MMP-9 protein expression levels increased in model rat heart. Conclusion Heart failure leads to decreased expression of elastin, I /IH collagen expression increased, and the MMP-2 and MMP-9 may be involved in the regulation of this process.

Robot-assisted laparoscopic total hysterectomy in a patient with giant uterine fibroids and complex pelvic adhesions: a case report / 南方医科大学学报

We report a case of giant hysteromyoma and complex pelvic adhesion treated by robotic assisted laparoscopic total hysterectomy and bilateral salpingectomy. The patient was diagnosed with uterine fibroids after physical examination in 1998 but did not receive any treatment, and regular examinations reported progressive growth of the fibroids. Ultrasound suggested multiple uterine fibroids, and pelvic MRI indicated large uterine fibroids with bleeding. Robot-assisted laparoscopic total hysterectomy and bilateral salpingectomy were performed after relevant examinations, and the operation was completed smoothly. The patient was discharged 4 days after surgery with good appearance of the abdominal wall and good recovery during the follow-up. With its unique advantages, robot-assisted laparoscopy provides a minimally invasive surgical approach for giant hysterectomy with complex pelvic adhesions.

Genetic testing and analysis of 2 cases of trisomy 11 mosaicism / 南方医科大学学报

Trisomy 11 mosaicism is clinically rare, for which making diagnostic and treatment decisions can be challenging. In this study, we used noninvasive prenatal testing, chromosome karyotype analysis, chromosome microarray analysis, copy number variation sequencing and fluorescence in situ hybridization for detecting trisomy 11 mosaicism in two cases and provided them with genetic counseling. In one of the cases, the fetus with confined placental mosaicism trisomy 11 presented with severe growth restriction and a placental mosaic level of 44%, and pregnancy was terminated at 25+3 weeks of gestation. In the other case with true low-level fetal mosaicism of trisomy 11, the pregnancy continued after exclusion of the possibility of uniparental disomy and structural abnormalities and careful prenatal counseling. The newborn was followed up for more than one year, and no abnormality was found. Noninvasive prenatal testing is capable of detecting chromosomal mosaicism but may cause missed diagnosis of true fetal mosaicism. For cases with positive noninvasive prenatal testing but a normal karyotype of the fetus, care should be taken in prenatal counseling and pregnancy management.

Evaluation on radiation shielding of the Halcyon linear accelerator room in a hospital / 中国职业医学

OBJECTIVE: To explore the radiation shielding problem of Halcyon linear accelerator room. METHODS: According to the dose estimation method recommended by GBZ/T 201.2—2011 Radiation Shielding Requirements for Radiotherapy room--Part 2: Radiotherapy Room of Electron Linear Accelerators(hereinafter referred to as GBZ/T 201.2—2011) and NCRP report No.151 Structural Shielding Design and Evaluation for Megavoltage X-and Gamma-Ray Radiotherapy Facilities the required shielding thickness of 6.0 MeV Halcyon linear machine room is evaluated and compared with the existing machine room. After the equipment was put into use, we measured and verified the dose equivalent rate around each point. RESULTS: ⅰ) The transmittance of the main beam passing through the self-shielding system was 0.06%. The theoretical shielding thickness of the main beam path sites A, C and L of the accelerator(two main shielding walls and room top sites respectively) was 136.00, 130.00 and 136.00 cm, which was lower than the required shielding thickness of the main shielding area specified in GBZ/T 201.2—2011 for 6.0 MeV accelerator. ⅱ) Compared with the existing equipment rooms in the hospital, except that the thickness of the top secondary shield(80.00 cm) and the thickness of the west section of the outer wall of the labyrinth(100.00 cm) are smaller, the rest meets the shielding requirements. ⅲ) After the transformation of the computer room and the installation of Halcyon linear accelerator, the surrounding dose equivalent rate was lower than the control level required by GBZ/T 201.2—2011. CONCLUSION: The self-shielding design of Halcyon linear accelerator can effectively protect 6.0 MeV rays used for treatment, reduce the shielding thickness required for the main shielding area, reduce the shielding construction cost of the equipment room and increase the usable area of the equipment room.

Efficacy of gamma-irradiated adipose-derived stem cells for treatment of thin endometrium in rats / 南方医科大学学报

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>Transplantation of adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs) is associated with potential risks of late complications including tumorigenesis due to the active proliferation of the cells. We aimed to test the effect of transplantation of ADSCs with suppressed proliferation by gamma irradiation in the treatment of thin endometrium in rats.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>ADSCs were isolated from female SD rats and identified by detecting the surface antigens with flow cytometry. After exposure to gamma irradiation at 0, 5 Gy and 10 Gy, the cells were examined for changes in colony-forming ability. Twenty-four female rats with chemically induced thin endometrium were randomized into 4 equal groups and at 6-8 h after modeling, the rats received intrauterine injection of non-irradiated ADSCs (group I), 5 Gy irradiated ADSCs (group II), 10 Gy irradiated ADSCs (group III), or PBS only (group IV). Endometrial pathology was analyzed with HE staining in these rats in the third estrus phase following the cell transplantation.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>The ADSCs showed a complete loss of proliferative capacity after exposure to 10 Gy irradiation. After the cell transplantation, the endometrium thickness was thicker in group I and II than in group IV (P<0.01), but there was no significant difference between groups III and IV.</p><p><b>CONCLUSIONS</b>Gamma irradiation impairs the proliferative capacity of ADSCs in vitro. Exposure to 10 Gy irradiation causes a total loss of proliferation capacity of the ADSCs, which have no therapeutic potential; 5 Gy irradiation causes partial loss of proliferation capacity of the cells, which still retain the activity to promote endometrial cell regeneration.</p>

Clinic analysis of phoenix roebelenii pollen's allergens sensitization in Hainan province / 中国耳鼻咽喉头颈外科

[ABSTRACT]OBJECTIVETo investigate the phoenix roebelenii pollen as the allergen of allergic rhinitis in Hainan Province and provide guidance for prevention and treatment of allergic rhinitits.METHODSA total of 2054 patients with allergic rhinitis were tested with the allergen of phoenix roebelenii pollen by skin prick test, and then choose 30 positive cases to give the nasal mucosa provocation test. RESULTSThe total positive rate of allergen of phoenix roebelenii pollen by skin prick test was 67.38% (1384/2054). The 30 cases with positive skin prick test were all positive in nasal mucosa provocation test and the cases in control group were all negative.CONCLUSIONPhoenix roebelenii pollen is an important allergen in Hainan Province. There is a correlation between skin prick test and nasal mucosa provocation test. The allergen skin prick test can provide clue for the patients to avoid the pathogenic allergens and for the specific immunotherapy.

Design mechanism and application of quasi-zero stiffness isolator / 医疗卫生装备

Objective To develop a new quasi-zero stiffness isolator for the vibration isolation of the sick and wounded on the ambulance stretcher.Methods The isolator was designed and verified on the basis of the quasi-zero stiffness of slotted disk spring, vibration isolation design method with high static while low dynamic stiffness and co-laminated structure of the spring.Results The theoretical analyses and tests proved the force-displacement curves of the new quasi-zero stiffness isolator fit well. The frequency-weighted acceleration at the buttock and head under different speeds on the asphalt roads was less than 0.315 m/s2.Conclusion The new quasi-zero stiffness isolator developed behaves well in vibration isolation and comfortability for the ambulance stretcher sick and wounded.

Analysis of total and specific IgE in serum of carvota mitis pollen-induced allergic rhinitis patients / 临床耳鼻咽喉头颈外科杂志

OBJECTIVE@#Exploring the relationship between total and specific IgE in serum and allergen skin test of carvota mitis pollen-induced allergic rhinitis patients.@*METHOD@#Four hundred and-twenty-nine carvota mitis pollen-induced allergic rhinitis patients and 243 healthy control subjects were recruited. The experimental group carried out skin tests. and pollen-specific IgE were also examined by BSA-ELISA method. Total IgE in serum of all of the subjects were determined by ELISA.@*RESULT@#The positive rate of the total IgE level of the patients were much higher than those of the controls (66.2% vs. 15.6%, P 0.05). The difference between serum-specific IgE and total IgE was statistically significant (chi2 = 50.639, P 0.05).@*CONCLUSION@#Allergen skin test and carvota mitis pollen-specific IgE are two effective methods for the diagnosis of carvota mitis pollen-induced allergic rhinitis. The detection of total IgE in serum of carvota mitis pollen-induced allergic rhinitis provides a reference value for diagnosis. The relationship between concentration of IgE in serum of the carvota mitis pollen-induced allergic rhinitis and allergen contact duration is waiting for further study.

Clinical research on treatment of migraine with pine needle moxibustion / 中国针灸

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To observe the clinical effect and mechanism of migraine treated with pine needle moxibustion.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Forty-three patients were randomly divided into 2 groups of pine needle moxibustion group (group A, 21 cases) and medicated thread moxibustion of Zhuang medicine group (group B, 22 cases). Same acu-points were selected as the main points for both groups, namely Fengchi (GB 20), Baihui (GV 20), Taiyang (EX-HN 5), Shuaigu (GB 8), Cuanzhu (BL 2), Sizhukong (TE 23), Yanglingquan (GB 34), Waiguan (TE 5) and Ashi points. Pine needle moxibustion was applied for the group A. Processed lighted pine needles were banded together with one even head to do moxibustion on acupoints or pain points. While, lighted medicated thread was adopted for the group B to do moxibustion. Therapeutic effects, the content of high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), Mg2+ in the serum and the degree of pain of the two groups were compared.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>(1) In the group A, the complete remission rate was 47.6% (10/21) and the effective rate was 90.5% (19/21). In the group B, the complete remission rate was 13.6% (3/22) and the effective rate was 50.0% (11/22). The two rates in the group A were superior to those in the group B (both P < 0.01); (2) In the group A, the content of hs-CRP was decreased from (4.29 +/- 0.98) mg/L to (2.11 +/- 0.87) mg/L, and Mg2+ was increased from (0.67 +/- 0.28) mmol/L to (1.07 +/- 0.16) mmol/L. In the group B, the contents of the above mentioned indices were respectively decreased from (4.30 +/- 1.07) mg/L to (3.38 +/- 1.15) mg/L and increased from (0.68 +/- 0.21) mmol/L to (0.88 +/- 0.25) mmol/L. There were significant differences between the two groups after treatment (both P < 0.05). (3) The degree of pain in the group A after treatment was much lower than that in the group B (P < 0.05).</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>The clinical effect of migraine treated with pine needle moxibustion is better than that with the medicated thread moxibustion of Zhuang medicine. And it has obvious regulation effect on the levels of hs-CRP and Mg2+ in the serum of patients.</p>

Clinical observation on strong stimulation of acupoints around eyes for treatment of adolescent myopia / 中国针灸

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To observe the therapeutic effect and influential factors of strong stimulation of acupoints around eyes by reducing method of twisting the needle for treatment of adolescent myopia, and to compare the different curative effects of both weak and strong stimulus intensities and wearing glasses in daytime.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>According to the principle of knowing and permission, the patients were divided into a strong stimulation group (60 cases, 120 eyes), a weak stimulation group (60 cases, 120 eyes) and a wearing glasses group (60 cases, 120 eyes). Both the strong stimulation group and the weak stimulation group were treated by reducing method of twisting the needle, with Cuanzhu (BL 2), Yuyao (EX-HN 4), Sizhukong (TE 23), Sibai (ST 2) and Taiyang (EX-HN 5) selected. Each acupoint was twisted 360 and 90 times per min for the strong stimulation group, and 90 degrees and 60 times per min for the weak stimulation group; the wearing glasses group were not treated with acupuncture, but with wearing glasses in daytime.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>After treatment with the reducing method of twisting the needle, the vision improved (P < 0.01), with more obviously increased in the strong stimulation group than the weak stimulation group (P < 0.01), and there was no significant change of vision in the wearing glasses group. The age and the myopic degree of the patient before treatment were closely related with the change of vision after treatment (P < 0.01).</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>The reducing method of twisting the needle has a definite clinical therapeutic effect on adolescent myopia; strong stimulation has a better effect than the weak one; the age and the myopic degree of the patient possibly influence the therapeutic effect.</p>

Design of a wireless ambulatory blood pressure monitoring system based on ARM / 中国医疗器械杂志

A design of the wireless ambulatory blood pressure monitoring system has been presented based on ARM embedded microprocessor and GPRS module for the extention of native mobile telemedicine. The whole system framework and flow chart have been introduced in detail. Based on RBF neural networks, the ambulatory blood pressure data curve has been simulated, and the trend curve provides a reliable gist for the prevention, treatment, diagnosis and therapeutic efficacy of cerebrocardiac diseases.

Cloning,expression and the immune characterization of panallergen profilin in coco(Cocos nucifera Linnaeus) / 中国免疫学杂志

Objective:To clone and express panallergen profilin from the pollen of coco(Cocos nucifera Linnaeus).Methods:RT-PCR and RACE methods were applied to clone the full-length panallergen genes from coco pollen and the sequence was analyzed.The specific primers were designed.The ORF of profilin of coco pollen was amplified with RT-PCR and cloned into the expression vector pET 28a.Expression of the recombinant coco pollen profilin was carried out in E.coli BL21(DE3) and the purification of the recombinant protein was performed via affinity chromatography with Ni2+ coupled to sepharose.IgE reactivity to recombinant coco pollen profilin was investigated by immunoblot.Results:The complete sequence of coco pollen profilin was cloned.The sequence was 608 bp and included an open reading frame(396 bp) coding for 131 amino acids.Sequence analysis showed that the deduced protein was an acidic protein with an estimated molecular mass of 14.19 kD and a pI of 4.61.The GeneBank accession number of the clones was EF173598.After overexpressed in E.coli BL21(DE3),the recombinant protein was purified through affinity chromatography with Ni2+ coupled to sepharose.Immunoassay showed that the recombinant allergen has good IgE binding capacity.Conclusion:The profilin of coco pollen is expressed successfully in BL21(DE3),which will be used as a base for further study on coco pollen related allergy.
