Résumé

Two triterpenoids, arjunolic acid (1), belleric acid (2), five phenylethanoids, martynoside (3), orobanchoside (4), 3,4-dihydroxyphenethylalcohol-6-O-caffeoyl-β-D-glucoside (5), leucosceptoside B (6), lunariifolioside (7), four phenolic acids, ferulic acid (8), syringic acid (9), vanillic acid (10), 4-hydroxybenzoic acid (11), and one lignan, (+)-syringaresinol-β-D-glucoside (12), were isolated from the roots of P. umbrosa. All isolated compounds were explored for their antioxidant potential in the DPPH and ABTS assays. In DPPH assay, compound 5 showed high antioxidant capacity. Compounds 3, 4, 6, and 7 displayed considerable antioxidant activities. In addition, compounds 5–7 exhibited potential antioxidant capacities in the ABTS assay.

Résumé

Objective To study the chemical constituents from the whole plant of Anisomeles indica. Methods The constituents were isolated and purified by various column chromatographic techniques including silica gel, Sephadex LH-20, and ODS. The structures were identified by spectroscopic analyses and physicochemical properties. Results Ten compounds were isolated from the ethanol extract of the whole plant of Anisomeles indica, in which seven phenylethanoids were identified as epimeredinoside A (1), crenatoside (2), verbascoside (3), cistanoside D (4), 3'-O-methyl isocrenatoside (5), isocrenatoside (6), and glycosmisic acid (7). Three phenolic acids were vanillic acid (8), caffeic acid (9), and ferulic acid (10). Conclusion Compounds 4-7 are isolated from the title plant and Anisomeles genus for the first time.

Résumé

O estudo químico de Aloysia gratissima (Gillies & Hook.) Tronc. e Aloysia virgata (Ruiz & Pav.)

Phytochemical study of Aloysia gratissima (Gillies & Hook.) Tronc. e Aloysia virgata (Ruiz & Pav.) Pers., Verbenaceae, afforded fourteen compounds. The structures were established using IR, 1D and 2D NMR and by comparison of its spectroscopic data to those of literature. The antibacterial activity of the crude extract from the leaves and branches and the fractions from the crude extract of A. virgata, besides the isolated compounds hoffmaniacetone, hoffmaniacetone monoacetate, verbascoside and arenarioside were evaluated by means of bioautography and the antiedematogenic activity was evaluated using induced ear oedema model to the crude extracts and methanol fractions for A. gratissima and A. virgata.

Résumé

Latex of Parahancornia amapa which is known as "amapa milk" in folk medicine was extracted with hexane, dichloromethane and methanol. From the hexane and dichloromethane were identified mixtures of 3-O-acyl lupeol esters such as identified previously. In the methanol extract, a large amount of carbohydrates, the phenylethanoid glucoside known as cornoside, other phenylethanoids derivatives and methylmyoinositol were identified. The analysis of IR, NMR and GC-LRMS of the natural compounds and tetra-acetylcornoside and comparison with literature data were used to identify the compounds.
