OBJECTIVE:To observe clinical efficacy and safety of Kangfuxin liquid in the treatment of radioactive dermatitis of nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients. METHODS:A total of 73 nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients with radioactive dermatitis in the Third Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University during Feb. 2016 to Feb. 2017 were divided into control group (36 cases) and observation group (37 cases) according to random number table. Both groups received routine treatment as Methylrosanilinium chloride solution,Compound cod liver oil and zinc oxide ointment for external use. Observation group was additionally given gauze soaked with Kangfuxin liquid on affected area,3 times a day on the basis of routine treatment. Both groups were treated for 4 weeks. Clinical efficacies of 2 groups were compared, and RTOG classification and dermatitis area were compared before and after treatment. The occurrence of ADR was recorded. RESULTS:There was statistical significance in the total response rate between observation group (94.6%) and control group (97.2%)(P<0.05). Before and after treatment, there were no RTOG Ⅳ patients in 2 groups. Before treatment, there was no statistical significance in the proportion of RTOG 0-Ⅲpatients or dermatitis area between 2 groups (P>0.05). After treatment,RTOG classification of observation group was improved significantly, the proportion of grade 0 patients was significantly higher than control group, that of gradeⅠpatients was significantly lower than control group, with statistical significance(P<0.05). There was no statistical significance in the proportion of RTOG 0-Ⅲpatients of control group before and after treatment(P>0.05). Two,four weeks after treatment, dermatitis areas of 2 groups were decreased significantly;dermatitis area 4 weeks after treatment was significantly smaller than 2 weeks after treatment;observation group was significantly smaller than control group, with statistical significance(P<0.05). No obvious ADR was found in 2 groups during treatment. CONCLUSIONS:Additional use of Kangfuxin liquid in the treatment of radioactive dermatitis of nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients can effectively relieve symptoms and reduce dermatitis area with good safety.

Objective To study the effect of oxygen therapy combined with recombinant epidermal growth factor on cervical cancer radioactive dermatitis. Methods From October 2013 to October 2015 in Guangxi tumor hospital, 70 stage IIIB cervical cancer patients with radioactive dermatitis from intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) were enrolled in the study, 35 cases with dermatitis occurring on odd date as the study group and another 35 with dermatitis occurring on even date as the control group. The former were treated with oxygen therapy combined with epidermal growth factor and the latter with recombinant epidermal growth factor alone. The two groups were compared in terms of curative effect, wound healing time and pain. Results The total effective rate of the research group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P<0.01). The healing time of the research group was significantly shorter than that of the control group (P < 0.001). Conclusion The oxygen therapy combined with recombinant epidermal growth factor is more effective in improving the cure rate, shorten healing time of dermatitis, reduce the pains from radiotherapy and help them through the radiotherapy process.

Objective To investigate the effect of cold underwear on acute radioactive dermatitis in the cervical cancer patients undergoing radiotherapy. Methods Ninety-seven patients with stage Ⅱb and above Ⅱb cervical cancer receiving radiotherapy were divided into the control group (n =48) and the experiment group (n =49) according to the random digit table. In the control group,Orgotein was sprayed on the local skins and the experiment group was treated with wearing cold underwear for 20 minutes in addition to local spraying of Orgotein. The two groups were compared in terms of dermatitis on the early stage, middle stage and final stage.Result On the early stage there was no statistical significant difference between two groups on dermatitis (P>0.05),but the dermatitis in the experiment group was statistically less than that in the control group at the middle stage and final stage (P<0.01).Conclusions The cold underwear for the cervical cancer patients undergoing radiotherapy can effectively prevent dermatitis or reduce its severity. It is designed suitable for patients prom anatomical perspective and simple for application.

Objective To study the mechanism of the Compound Qinbai Granule (Granules composed of Scutellaria root and Phellodendron bark) in the treatment of radioactive dermatitis in rats. Methods The rat models of radioactive dermatitis were established and randomized into three groups:Compound Qinbai Granule group (experimental group),dexamethasone ointment group (traditional group),and normal saline group (control group). The wound was treated with Compound Qinbai Granule spray, dexamethasone ointment external application, and normal saline spray respectively.By immunohistochemical staining and image analysis, the growth of granulation tissue in the wound area wound healing rate, and the expression of basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) in the wound tissues were determined on the second, sixth, tenth, eighteenth, and twenty-fourth day after injury. Results The average number of granulation tissue and wound healing rate in the experimental group on the sixth, tenth, eighteenth, and twenty-fourth day were all higher than those in the traditional group and control group with a significant difference (P
