RESUMO

The term 'Dilated Odontoma' is a malformation which most frequently occurs in the deciduous, permanent or supernumerary teeth. It can be diagnosed with deep invagination of the enamel inside the crown or root. In other words, the most extreme form of dens in the dente is known as "dilated odontoma". Although dilated odontomas are usually asymptomatic, their eruption into the mouth can give rise to pain, inflammation, and infection. This report is an attempt to describe the case of a 22-year-old female presenting with bilateral cystic lesions associated with erupted dilated odontomas of the maxilla. The patient had no history of pain but she complained about a recurrent swelling which she was suffering from for about two years. Conventional radiographs showed bilateral cystic lesions associated with dilated odontomas. The findings were also confirmed by Dent Scan. The treatment plan consisted of surgical removal of the lesions, followed by histopathologic study in order to confirm the initial diagnosis

RESUMO

The purpose of this study was to assess the relationship between psychological stresses and noise stresses on printery workers in Tehran, Iran. Hence, 267 workers were randomly selected. The Leq and Lmax were measured and the psychological stresses such as depression, anxiety, aggression and job satisfaction were also studied by the relevant questionnaires. The data were statistically analyzed by Pearson correlation test. The results demonstrated that there was no significant statistical relationship between noise and psychological stresses. In addition, by using Spearman regression method, the influence of variables such as age, gender and job history on psychological stresses caused by Leq and Lmax was studied and the results only revealed that the aggression caused by Leq increased in young personnel [P=0.02] as well as, anxiety caused by Lmax increased accompanied by increasing the job history and age of the workers [P=0.002 and P=0.007]. Therefore, more variables must be taken into consideration to judge about noise induced psychological stresses in workplaces

RESUMO

Recent advances in technology and rapid changing sciences, has faced health care systems, especially in developing countries with new challenges. In these circumstances health care organizations should search for new methods of adaptation with environmental changes in order to decrease costs and improve health care efficiency and quality. Passing this period needs finding and implementing creative approaches, like enterpreneurship. Health enterprise may be applied in individual, organizational and group dimensions. Therefore, health care organizations should use entrepreneurship strategies and support enterpreneurs. In this article entrepreneurship in three above mentioned dimensions are discussed

RESUMO

It is necessary to understand that psychological reactions after a natural disaster are as complex as disaster itself. Following a catastrophic earthquake like Bam's, such reactions can be seen in nursing team members as well. This study is a descriptive cross sectional analytic research, conducted with cooperation of Japanese Nursing Association to identify somatic and psychological problems of nursing team members of Bam. A total of 92 members of nursing team affiliated to healthcare centers of Bam were studied. Data collection tools were 2 questionnaires; first for evaluating demographic characteristics and general health and second- questionnaire of Goldberg and Williams- for evaluation of four domains of psychosomatic problems, anxiety and insomnia, psychosocial functioning and severe depression. Each domain contained seven questions, each scored from 0 to 3 based on Likert score. Complete score of general health was 0-84. Scores were classified in four groups: 0-20 as optimal, 21-4 as approximately optimal, 41-6 as approximately suboptimal and 61 and higher as suboptimal. One year after the earthquake, evaluation of general health of nursing team members showed 30.3% of subjects had optimal psychosomatic status, 34.8% had moderate problems of anxiety and insomnia, 40.2% had approximately optimal psychosocial functioning and 44.2% of subjects were not severely depressed. Overall, 38.4% of nursing team members had approximately optimal general health. This study showed that following a catastrophic earthquake, most of the victims suffer from several psychological and somatic reactions. In addition to on time rescue procedures, other important allaying factors are cultural and religious values and believing in God

RESUMO

Evaluation the patients for determining the sings of increasing intracranial pressure[ICP] is one of the most important nursing activities. One of the problems in caring the patients withneurologicaldisordersisfindingtheintracranialpressureandpreventionof itssecondarycomplications. The aim of this descriptive comparative survey was to evaluate the alterations of intracranialpressure due to some curative and health activities in patients admmitted to intensive care unit of Shiraz Namazee hospital. In this study the effects of 18 health care activities with 1620 repeatswere evaluate in 6 patients with increased ICP due to head injuries.A researcher- made check list was used for data collection after determining proper reliability andvalidity. Central and descriptive tendency, Spearman coefficient and Wilcoxon tests were used fordata analysis. The results of this survey showed that from 18 activities that showed significant differencein ICP, dressing change of catheter site, had highest pressure differential mean [9.62] and activity ofpupil reaction of left eye to light had lowest pressure differential mean [1.40] respectively. Theresults also showed that among 1620 repeated activities only three were associated with decreased ICP.The result showed that, dressing change of catheter insertion site and inserting angiochat had lowestand highest correlation coefficients 0.17 and 0.8 respectively.Although arising ICP has seen after implementation of 18 health care activities but theraise was transient and reconvert in less than one minute
