RESUMO

@#The global incidence of high myopia is increasing year by year. High myopia is closely related to cataract, but high myopia is accompanied by special pathological changes,which make the operative difficulty and the incidence of postoperative complications of high myopia with cataract is much higher than common cataract. With the advent of the era of refractive cataract, postoperative visual quality requirements of patients are higher, and the challenges to ophthalmologists are also greater. Therefore, we need to pay more attention to the management of patients with high myopia combined with cataract. In this paper, the surgical methods, preoperative biological measurements, common complications during and after the operation of high myopia with cataract were reviewed.

RESUMO

Objective The purpose of this study was to develop the mechanism of vacuolar H+-ATPase regulation of vaginal microenvironment.Methods In this research,53 women were divided into three groups.Their age,serum estradiol (E2),serum follicle stimulating hormone (FSH),vaginal pH value,and mRNA expression of vacuolar H +-ATPase (VHA) on the ectocervical-vaginal epithelial cells were analyzed.Results (1) As serum E2 levels decreased,the vaginal pH values increased and VHA mRNA declined (P < 0.01).(2) Immunohistochemistry scores decreased in the three groups.VHA expression decreased in human ectocervical-vaginal epithelial tissues except basal cells.(3) The expression of VHA was positive correlated with estradiol,while negative correlated with age and vaginal pH value (P < 0.01).Conclusions Estradiol could regulate the genetic transcription and synthetic of VHA protein under vaginal microenvironment.

Objective To study the role of serum S100 calcium binding protein (S100A12) in preterm premature rupture of membrane induced chorioamnionitis. Methods Thirty-six patients with preterm premature rupture (preterm premature rupture group), 48 patients with term birth premature rupture (term birth premature rupture group) and 17 normal pregnant women (control group) were selected. The blood routine, S100A12, C response protein (CRP), glycohemoglobin (GHB) levels were detected and compared. Results The S100A12 in preterm premature rupture group was significantly higher than that in term birth premature rupture group and control group: (1 193.6 ± 443.1) ng/L vs. (787.7 ± 482.6)and(610.5 ± 449.0)ng/L,and there was statistical difference(P<0.01);but there was no statistical difference between term birth premature rupture group and control group(P<0.05).In preterm premature rupture group, S100A12 levels in the gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and non-GDM patients were significantly higher than those in control group:(1 225.4 ± 422.5)and(1 168.2 ± 468.2)ng/L vs. (610.5 ± 449.0) ng/L, and those in GDM patients were significantly higher than those in non-GDM patients, and there were statistical differences (P<0.05). In preterm premature rupture group, the S100A12 showed significant positive correlation with CRP, neutral granulocyte percent and GHB (r =0.236, 0.222 and 0.378; P<0.05 or <0.01). Conclusions S100A12 would have an important role in the mechanism of preterm premature rupture of membrane combined with GDM induced chorioamnionitis.

Sixty four pregnancy women with mildly raised TSH level (2.5-4.5 mU/L) in the 1st trimester were divided into two groups:only the thyroid function was monitored in study Ⅰ group (n =32),while levothyroxine therapy was given in study Ⅱ group (n =32);45 normal pregnant women with TSH level <2.5 mU/L served as control group.Serum unconjugated estriol(uE3) and placenta growth factor (PlGF) levels in 3rd trimester were measured in all subjects.The incidence of adverse events in control group,study groups Ⅰ and Ⅱ were 22.2%,40.6% and 31.3%,respectively (P >0.05).The serum levels of uE3 (7.34 μg/L) and PlGF (76.3 ng/L) were elevated in study group Ⅱ;and the uE3 level was close to that in the control group (6.61 μg/L),while PlGF level was lower than that in the control group (169.1 ng/L).When TPO antibody was positive,the uE3 level in the study group Ⅰ (logarithmic value 0.37 ±0.31) was lower than those in other two groups (logarithmic value 0.81 ± 0.37,0.56 ± 0.27),while there was no significant difference in PlGF levels among three groups.The results suggest that levothyroxine may improve placental function to some extent and TPO antibody might be one of the regulators in the expression of uE3.

Objective To investigate the inhibitory effect of Withaferin A ( WFA) on the growth of orthotopic xenograft tumor of hepatocellular carcinoma in nude mice and the mechanism of its antitumoral effect. Methods For in vivo model, anti-tumor efficacy of Withaferin A was evaluated in nude mice mod-els of human liver cancer orthotopic xenograft. The nude mice were randomly divided into model group, Sunitinib group,and Withaferin A groups [6, 3 mg/(kg·d)]. All mice were given intraperitoneal injec-tion for 14 days. Tumor volume and tumor weight were observed. Antiangiogenic effects were assessed in vi-vo by the tumor inhibition rate and microvessel density. Quantitative polymerase chain reaction ( QPCR) as-say was used to detect the mRNA expression of vascular endothelial growth factor ( VEGF) , basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF), angiopoietin-2 (Ang-2), vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR2) from tumor tissues. For in vitro experiments, the cell count kit 8 ( CCK8 ) assay was used to detect the effect of Withaferin A on HepG2 cells proliferation. QPCR assay and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay ( ELISA) were used to detect the mRNA expression of VEGF. Results Compared to the model group, the high-dose Withaferin A group and the Sunitinib group had a significantly lower tumor weight (P<0. 05). The tumor inhibition rate was 42. 69% in the high-dose Withaferin A group, 20. 22% in the low-dose With-aferin A group, and 49. 43% in the Sunitinib group. The growth of HepG2 cells was significantly inhibited by different concentrations of Withaferin A,and the 50% concentration of inhibition ( IC50 ) of Withaferin A were (2. 64 ± 0. 18)μmol/L at 24 h. Withaferin A (6,3 μmol/L) could inhibit the protein and mRNA ex-pression of VEGF ( P<0. 05 ) . Conclusions Withaferin A significantly reduces the growth of orthotopic xenograft tumor of hepatocellular carcinoma in nude mice via antiangiogenic effect. Downregulation of the protein and mRNA expression of VEGF by WFA may be one mechanism of its anti-liver cancer effect.
