RESUMO

The term Mizaj [Temperament] in the subject is applied for wider logical aspects which include the study of primary components, their physical qualities as well as chemical properties, and after their interaction how different compounds are created and what qualities [Kaifiyat] they comprise. However, in Al-Umur al-Tabia, as Ibn Sina has said that, in medicine only equitable medical temperament is taken as objective to study in which biochemical processes, morphological expressions and body functions of human beings are discussed. Here Mizaj is reflected at every stage and so the requisite temperament is maintained to preserve health. Since, temperament is an existing dynamic state of the body at which functions are performed and re-adjusted in accordance with environmental demands; therefore individuals have been given a great capacity to adapt themselves according to the requirements made by dietary habits, profession, age, life style, habitats and climatic condition of a particular region. In this paper, regional impacts have been discussed with relation to temperament on individuals of a community

RESUMO

Diet has been a big concern throughout the ages for medical scholars about the behaviour and kind of food useful for development of body in growing age and maintenance of health in general. In present time, the concept of balanced diet has finally resulted in the enrichment of the scientific use of nutrition. In Tibb, diet is one of the most important factor included in six essential factors which maintain body inter-relationship and continuously aims at readjustment of its various bio-chemical processes and physiological functions accordingly. A person of a particular habitat temperament, profession, and age requires a particular balanced diet so that it fulfils the special demands as required by every individual separately. Whenever, there is a change in climate and diet, the living body is affected. Therefore, the diet is to be balanced and taken according to the demand of the body in a given climate, habitat and seasonal variation. Diet in a growing age has been therefore taken into account for description of balanced or normalized temperament which could be maintained and so the health could be protected

RESUMO

Syllabus of Umoor-e-Tabaiyah in fact is predominantly based on Kulliyat al-Qanoon written by Ibn Sina who belongs to Medieval period of logical era. With the exposure to the aforesaid subject, it has been observed that there are some sub classifications in the mentioned subject which are in fact, resultant of logical approach of that time. Mizaj-e-Mu'tadil Haqiqi [Real equable temperament] is one of them. According to all Unani scholars, real equable temperament is defined as a compound state wherein the contrary qualities and quantities of all participating elements are supposed to be equal. Since, such kind of compound in the syllabus and taught especially to undergraduate students who get some time stuck with mentioned kind. A plea in this publication, has been made to reclassify the aforesaid kinds of temperament and exclusion of Real Equable Temperament from the syllabus
