RESUMO
Over the past six years, 35 cases of unresolved upper brachial plexus obstetric palsy [BPOP] were treated with Green and Tachdjian modification of the L'Episcopo procedure. All mothers were complaining that their children were unable to bring the palm of their hands to the mouth or perform the usual daily activity tasks without their help. All patients became fully independent when assessed at the follow up. They could dress, wash, attend the toilet, feed and comb better, so that they no longer needed any help in these activities

In a prospective study, the new dynamic hip fixator [DHF] technique was applied on 41 patients with pertrochanteric hip fractures. Four patients died within three months of the procedure due to causes unrelated to the surgical procedure. Senile patients who were considered at high risks for general anesthesia and prolonged surgical procedures were treated by DHF. Other groups of patients treated by the DHF included polytrauma at any age, neglected patients with bedsores and inability to buy the suitable implant. The average follow up period was 16.7 months. The value of this new method has been explored and the results have been reported. The technique was simple, safe and economical. It was the method of choice for high- risk geriatric patients or for those with bedsores and polytrauma. It can be also used whenever the suitable implant is not available due to limited resources. The DHF minimized the surgical damage and blood loss and had an added advantage of early mobilization
