RESUMO

Phytochemicals are any of various biologically active compounds found in plants. These are produced by plants and have biological activity. It has been reported that Murraya koenigii leaf extract is traditionally used to cure dysentery. Dysentery is an intestinal inflammation, primarily of the colon. It can lead to mild or severe stomach cramps and severe diarrhoea with mucus or blood in the faeces. It is the infection in the intestinal tract. One enzyme, which is involved in its biochemical pathway, is known as alcohol dehydrogenase (which have pdb id.1Y9A). The molecular docking was studied by biovia discovery studio. In which the interaction is done between the phytochemical of the plant with the enzyme. The stability of the interaction was evaluated based on –CDocker energy and –CDocker interaction energy.

RESUMO

Aspergillosis is an infection caused by a type of fungus. The illnesses is caused by aspergillosis infection and usually attack the respiratory system, but their signs and severity vary greatly. It has already been established that plant Cinnamomum zeylanicum belonging to the Lauraceae family has the potential to help controlling aspergillosis. This work is focused on the identification of the particular phytochemical responsible for inhibiting and decreasing the effect of aspergillosis. Molecular docking method applied using “Biovia Discovery Studio”. “High positive values of -CDOCKER energy and -CDOCKER interaction energy” suggested that cinnamic acid can effectively deactivate aspergillosis.

RESUMO

Tuberculosis is a disease caused by severe infections by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, a pathogenic bacteria. These bacteria cause infections in humans and thus lead to an unhealthy life. Phytochemicals from cardamom plant extract are traditionally used to cure Tuberculosis. Molecular docking method applied using “Biovia Discovery Studio”. “High positive values of -CDOCKER energy and -CDOCKER interaction energy” suggested that acetic acid can effectively deactivate histidinol dehydrogenase (H37Rv) thereby interrupting the life cycle of the organism

RESUMO

Introduction: The diabetes mellitus is described as metabolicdisorder of multiple etiology characterized by chronichyperglycemia with disturbance of carbohydrate, protein andfat metabolism resulting in insulin secretion, insulin action orboth. This study was done to check the prevalence of coronaryartery disease (CAD) risk factors in diabetic patients andcompare with normal subjects.Material and methods: Sixty diagnosed cases of diabetes and60 normal subjects from patients attending Diabetic Clinic,Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Kathmandu, Nepal. This was hospital based cross sectional observational study.Diagnosed case of diabetes was taken and non-modifiable andmodifiable risk factors of CAD were compared with normalsubjects with available data of risk factors CAD.Results: Mean age of the case group was 48.51 yrs, 46.6% ofcase group had hypertension, in comparison of control grouphad only 15%. Study showed overweight (BMI>25 Kg/m2)was observed in 25 (41.6%) diabetic patients in comparisonto control which had only 2 (3%) subjects being overweight.About 5% of diabetic cases had family history of CAD. Familyhistory of diabetes was present in 32% of diabetic patients andfamily history of hypertension was present in 18% of diabeticpopulation. Conclusion: This study showed the prevalence of risk factorof CAD in diabetic patients was significantly higher comparedwith normal subjects
