RESUMO
Keteneylidenetriphenyl-phosphorane reacts with 2-thiono-5-pyridyl- 1,3,4-oxadiazole [2a] and 2-thiono-5-pyridyl-1,3,4 thiadiazole [2b] to yield the corresponding 3-amino- carboxymthy lenetriphenyl phosphorane adducts 3a and 3b. Respectively, possible reaction mechanism is considered and the structural assignments are based on chemical and spectroscopic evidence. Preliminary screening tests of products showed that some compounds are active against these Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli and Aspergillus niger

Although triphenylphosphoranylideneketene [la] and triphenylphosphoranylideneketenimine [Ib] are known to react with carbonyl compounds e.g. aldehydes and ketones their reaction with thio-carbonyl compounds has yet been not reported. Thus, it appeared of a particular significance to investigate their reaction with 4, 5-tetrame-thylene-l,2-dithiol-3-thione [II]

Benzophenone was found to be uncreative towards flourenylidenetriphenylphorane and flouenylidentriplienylarsinane [1]. However, although thiobenzophenone [I] is known to react with benzylidenetriphenylphosphorane [2], yet its behaviour towards the aforementioned stable| yields has not yet been reported. This motivated our interest and indeed we have found that thiobenzophenone [I] reacts readily with fluorenylidenetriphenylphosphorane [IIa] and 2,7 -dibromo-derivative [.[IIb] in dry benzene at room temperature to yield the 9-substituted fluorenes IVa and IVb, respectively. Triphenylphosphine sulphide [Va] was isolated in both reactions in a quantitative yield
