RESUMO

Objective To investigate the clinicopathological features, immunohistochemical features, diagnosis, and relationship with sporadic prostate cancer in primary small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma of the bladder. Methods We retrospectively analyzed the clinical characteristics of 12 patients with primary small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma of the bladder diagnosed at Beijing Chao-Yang Hospital affiliated to Capital Medical University from January 2013 to September 2022.The histological features of primary small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma of the bladder were re-evaluated by two pathologists according to the 2022 revision of the World Health Organization Classification of Tumors of the Urinary System and Male Genital Organs.Electronic medical records were retrieved, and telephone follow-up was conducted from the time of histopathological diagnosis to the death or the end of the last follow-up until January 31,2023. Results The 12 patients include 7 patients in pT3 stage and 1 patient in pT4 stage.Eight patients were complicated with other types of tumors, such as high-grade urothelial carcinoma of the bladder and squamous cell carcinoma.Five patients had sporadic prostate cancer.Immunohistochemical staining showed that 12 (100.0%),10 (83.3%),and 8 (66.7%) patients were tested positive for CD56,Syn,and CgA,respectively. The Ki67 proliferation index ranged from 80% to 90%.Five patients with urothelial carcinoma were tested positive for CK20,GATA3,and CK7.P504S was positive in all the 5 patients with prostate cancer, while P63 and 34βE12 were negative. The follow-up of the 12 patients lasted for 3-60 months.Eight of these patients died during follow-up,with the median survival of 15.5 months.Four patients survived. Conclusions Primary small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma of the bladder is a rare urological tumor with high aggressiveness and poor prognosis. In male patients with bladder prostatectomy, all prostate tissue should be sampled. If prostate cancer is detected, the prostate-specific antigen level should be monitored.

RESUMO

The aim of this study was to explore the effects of Huangqin Tang(HQT) on the NLRP3/Caspase-1 signaling pathway in mice with DSS-induced ulcerative colitis(UC). C57BL/6J mice were randomly divided into a blank group, a model group(DSS group), and low-, medium-and high-dose HQT groups(HQT-L, HQT-M, and HQT-H), and western medicine mesalazine group(western medicine group). The UC model was induced in mice. Subsequently, the mice in the HQT-L, HQT-M, HQT-H groups, and the western medicine group were given low-, medium-, high-dose HQT, and mesalazine suspension by gavage, respectively, while those in the blank and DSS groups were given an equal volume of distilled water by gavage. After 10 days of administration, the body weight, DAI scores, and colonic histopathological score of mice in each group were determined. The levels of IL-6, IL-10, IL-1β, and TNF-α in serum were determined by ELISA. The mRNA expression of NLRP3 and Caspase-1 in colon tissues was determined by RT-qPCR. The protein expression of NLRP3 and Caspase-1 in colon tissues was detected by immunohistochemistry. The results showed that compared with the blank group, the DSS group showed decreased body weight of mice and increased DAI scores and intestinal histopathological score. Compared with the DSS group, the HQT groups and the western medicine group showed improved DAI scores, especially in the HQT-M, HQT-H, and the western medicine groups(P<0.05). The intestinal histopathological scores of the HQT groups and the western medicine group significantly decreased, especially in the HQT-M, HQT-H, and the western medicine groups(P<0.05). In addition, compared with the blank group, the DSS group showed elevated expression of NLRP3 and Caspase-1 in colon tissues, increased serum levels of IL-6, IL-1β, and TNF-α, and decreased IL-10 level. Compared with the DSS group, the HQT groups and the western medicine group displayed decreased expression of NLRP3 and Caspase-1 in colon tissues, reduced serum levels of IL-6, IL-1β, and TNF-α, and increased IL-10 level. The improvement was the most significant in the HQT-H group and the western medicine group(P<0.01). In conclusion, HQT may reduce the expression of NLRP3 and Caspase-1 in colon tissues, reduce the se-rum levels of IL-6, IL-1β, and TNF-α, and increase the expression of IL-10 by regulating the classic pyroptosis pathway of NLRP3/Caspase-1, thereby improving the symptoms of intestinal injury and inflammatory infiltration of intestinal mucosa in DSS mice to achieve its therapeutic effect.

RESUMO

The Guidelines for prevention and treatment of colorectal adenoma with integrated Chinese and western medicine are put forward by Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine and approved by China Association of Chinese Medicine. According to the formulation processes and methods of relevant clinical practice guidelines, the experts in clinical medicine and methodology were organized to discuss the key problems to be addressed in the clinical prevention and treatment of colorectal adenoma(CRA) and provided answers following the evidence-based medicine method, so as to provide guidance for clinical decision-making. CRA is the major precancerous disease of colorectal cancer. Although the prevention and treatment with integrated Chinese and western medicine have been applied to the clinical practice of CRA, there is still a lack of high-quality guidelines. Four basic questions, 15 clinical questions, and 10 outcome indicators were determined by literature research and Delphi questionnaire. The relevant randomized controlled trial(RCT) was retrieved from CNKI, Wanfang, VIP, SinoMed, PubMed, EMbase, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, and 2 clinical trial registries, and finally several RCTs meeting the inclusion criteria were included. The data extracted from the RCT was imported into RevMan 5.3 for evidence synthesis, and the evidence was evaluated based on the Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development, and Evaluations(GRADE). The final recommendations were formed by the nominal group method based on the evidence summary table. The guidelines involve the diagnosis, screening, treatment with integrated Chinese and western medicine, prevention, and follow-up of colorectal adenoma, providing options for the clinical prevention and treatment of CRA.

RESUMO

Objective To investigate the effects of microRNA( miR)-29a-3p on the proliferation and invasion of gastric cancer cells and analyze its related molecular mechanism. Methods The expression level of miR-29a-3p in gastric cancer cells was detected, and the role of miR-29a-3p in the proliferation, migration, and invasion of gastric cancer cells was evaluated. Western blotting and luciferase analysis showed that miR-29a-3p was directly bound to Serpinhl 3 ' -untranslated region(3' UTR). In addition, the effects of the miR-29a-3p/Serpinhl axis on the proliferation, migration, and invasion of gastric cancer cells were detected by MTT assay, colony formation assay, and Transwell assay in vitro. Results After transfection, the expression of miR-29a-3p in the miR-29a-3p mimic group was significantly higher than that in the miR-29a-3p negative control and blank group. After transfection, the proliferation of BGC823 cells decreased significantly. Luciferase analysis showed that miR-29a-3p inhibited the expression of Serpinhl by targeting the 3 ' UTR of Serpinhl. In addition, overexpression of miR-29a-3p significantly inhibited the proliferation, invasion, and migration of gastric cancer cells by targeting Serpinhl. Conclusion MiR-29a-3p can target Serpinhl and regulate the proliferation and invasion of gastric cancer cells.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE@#To investigate the protective effect of Chinese herbal formula Huangqin Decoction (HQD) on ulcerative colitis mouse model induced by dextran sulphate sodium (DSS) and human intestinal epithelial cell injury induced by tumour necrosis factor-α (TNF-α).@*METHODS@#In vivo, 30 male C57BL/6 mice were divided into 5 groups using a random number table (n=6 per group), including control, DSS, 5-aminosalicylic acid (5-ASA), HQD low- (HQD-L) and high-dose (HQD-H) groups. The colitis mouse model was established by 3% (w/v) DSS water for 5 days. Meanwhile, mice in the HQD-L, HQD-H and 5-ASA groups were administrated with 100, 200 mg/kg HQD or 100 mg/kg 5-ASA, respectively, once daily by gavage. After 9 days of administration, the body weight, disease activity index (DAI) score and colon length of mice were measured, the pathological changes of colons were analyzed by hematoxylin-eosin staining (HE) staining, and the levels of serum interleukin (IL)-6, IL-1β and TNF-α were measured by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay. In vitro, the human colon epithelial normal cells (FHC cells) were exposed to HQD (0.6 mg/mL) for 12 h and then treated with TNF-α (10 ng/mL) for 24 h. The tight junction (TJ) protein expression levels of Claudin-4 and Occludin, and the protein phosphorylation levels of p65 and inhibitor of nuclear factor kappaB (NF-κB)-α (IκBα) were measured by Western blot.@*RESULTS@#In vivo, compared with the DSS group, HQD-H treatment attenuated the weight loss and reduced DAI score of mice on the 8th day (P<0.05). Moreover, HQD-H treatment ameliorated the colon shortening in the DSS-induced colitis mice (P<0.05). HE staining showed HQD attenuated the pathological changes of colitis mice, and the histological scores of HQD-H and 5-ASA groups were significantly decreased compared with the DSS group (P<0.05). Meanwhile, HQD-H and 5-ASA significantly decreased the serum IL-1β, IL-6 and TNF-α levels of mice (P<0.05). In vitro experiments showed that HQD up-regulated Occludin and Claudin-4 protein expressions and inhibited p-p65 and p-IκBα levels in FHC cells compared with the TNF-α group (P<0.05).@*CONCLUSION@#HQD significantly relieved the symptoms in DSS-induced colitis mice by inhibiting pro-inflammatory cytokines expression and maintained the homeostasis of TJ protein in FHC cells by suppressing TNF-α-induced NF-κB activation.

RESUMO

Based on the story of Chinese idiom, (a magical and skilled form of craftsmanship) as the breakthrough point, this paper discusses the both (cook) and the experienced acupuncture practitioner have the same high skills and explores the potential relationship between mind-regulation in treatment with acupuncture and flow theory. It is believed that the skills of ancient acupuncture practitioner in mind-regulation with acupuncture is not only a kind of "Tao" mode, but also a state of "flow". By the discussion on mind-regulation and flow theory, modern people may have more clear recognition on the mind regulation in treatment with acupuncture so as to better determine the therapeutic methods of acupuncture for mind-regulation.

RESUMO

Objective@#To investigate the influence of subchronic exposure to low-dose subchronic nano-nickel oxide (NNO) on the reproductive function of male rats and embryonic development of the pregnant rats.@*METHODS@#Fifty normal healthy male SD rats weighing 180-220 g were randomly divided into five groups of equal number, negative control, 4 mg/ml micro-nickel oxide (MNO), and 0.16, 0.8 and 4 mg/ml NNO, those of the latter four groups exposed to MNO or NNO by non-contact intratracheal instillation once every 3 days for 60 days, and then all mated with normal adult female rats in the ratio of 1∶2. After the female animals were confirmed to be pregnant, the males were sacrificed and the weights of the body, testis and epididymis obtained, followed by calculation of the visceral coefficients, determination of epididymal sperm concentration and viability and the nickel contents in the blood and semen by atomic fluorescence spectrometry. The female rats were killed on the 20th day of gestation for counting of the implanted fertilized eggs and live, dead and resorbed fetuses.@*RESULTS@#After 60 days of exposure, the rats of the NNO groups showed no statistically significant differences from those of the negative control and MNO groups in the weights of the body, testis and epididymis or visceral coefficients. Compared with the negative control group, the animals of the 0.8 and 4 mg/ml NNO groups exhibited markedly decreased sperm concentration ([9.36 ± 0.98] vs [7.49 ± 1.46] and [6.30 ± 1.36] ×10⁶/ml, P < 0.05) and viable sperm ([85.35 ± 9.16]% vs [68.26 ± 16.63]% and [65.88 ± 14.68] %, P < 0.05), increased morphologically abnormal sperm ([8.30 ± 2.47]% vs [13.99 ± 4.87]% and [15.38 ± 8.86] %, P < 0.05), and elevated rate of dead and resorbed fetuses (1.18% vs 6.89% and 7.37%, P < 0.05), blood nickel content ([0.13 ± 0.16] vs [0.52 ± 0.34] and [0.82 ± 0.44] mg/L, P < 0.05) and semen nickel content ([0.08 ± 0.13] vs [0.35 ± 0.23] and [0.63 ± 0.61] mg/L, P < 0.05). The nickel level in the semen was correlated significantly with that in the blood (r = 0.912, P <0.01), negatively with the rate of viable sperm (r = -0.879, P <0.01) and positively with the percentage of morphologically abnormal sperm (r = -0.898, P <0.01).@*CONCLUSIONS@#Sixty-day exposure to nano-nickel oxide at 0.8 and 4 mg/ml can produce reproductive toxicity in male rats and result in fetal abnormality in the females, while that at 0.16 mg/ml has no significant toxic effect on the reproductive function of the males.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the correlation between clinicopathological features and BRAF~(V600E) gene mutation in papillary thyroid carcinoma(PTC). METHODS: The data of 290 cases of PTC admitted from August 2016 to May 2018 in Beijing Tongren Hospital,Capital Medical University were analyzed retrospectively. All the cases of PTC were examined by BRAF~(V600E) immunohistochemistry after operation. Mutation positive group included 192 cases. Mutation negative group included 59 cases and partial mutation group included 39 cases. The cases of partial mutantion were excluded. The clinicopathological differences between the two groups were compared. RESULTS: By statistical analysis, there was a statistical difference between two groups in the invasion of the capsule(P<0.05). In the two groups(microcarcinoma and non-microcarcinoma),there was the same result. There was no statistical difference in other indexes. CONCLUSION: In patients with PTC,BRAF~(V600E) gene mutation is not associated with the clinicopathological features of the PTC. Patients with non-BRAF~(V600E) gene mutations are more likely to invade the membranes of microcarcinomas and non-microcarcinomas.

RESUMO

Bronchiolitis is the most common lower respiratory tract infection and the leading cause of hospitalization in infants. It has become one of the public health problems worldwide. The pathogenesis is unclear and there are currently no targeted therapies that have been proven to be effective in bronchiolitis. There exists a poor understanding of the mechanisms underlying the variable disease severity and the inconsistent manifestation of long-term respiratory morbidity. Nor can these outcomes be reliably predicted in patients on initial presentation. Bronchiolitis is generally considered a single disease, however, more and more researches have shown that it is a heterogeneous disease that needs individualized and specific treatment, with differences in etiology, clinical charicteristics, immunology, microecology and long-term respiratory outcomes. The study on heterogeneity of viral bronchiolitis will contribute to individualized and targeted therapy and may reduce the development of recurrent wheezing and asthma.

RESUMO

Objective:To study the levels of Th1 and Th2 in spleen lymphocyte of TNBS and OXZ colitis without or with Trichinella spiralis(T.spiralis)infection.Methods:Female BALB/c mice were randomly divided into 3 groups:50% Ethanol,TNBS or OXZ,T.spiralis+TNBS or OXZ(at least 6 in each group when mice were killed). The ratio of Th1/Th2 lymphocyte in spleen was detected by FCM with three color intracellular cytokine staining. Results:In spleen lymphocyte of TNBS colitic mice with prior nematode infection, the ratio of Th1/Th2 were not significantly different compared with that seen in colitic mice without prior nematode infection on day 3 post-induction of colitis(P>0.05),the ratio of Th1/Th2 was significantly lower than which on day 7 post-induction of colitis (P<0.05).In spleen lymphocyte of OXZ colitic mice with prior nematode infection on days 3 and 7 post-induction of colitis, the ratio of Th1/Th2 was significantly higher than that seen in colitic mice without prior nematode infection(P<0.05).Conclusion:Infection of mice with T.spiralis distracts the mucosal immune system response from a Th1 response toward a protective Th2 response and up-regulate Tr1-cytokines with an attendant reduction in the severity of colonic damage and balance of Th1/Th2.Prior T.spiralis infection doesn't reduce the severity of OXZ-induced colitis, but without aggravating colitis.

RESUMO

Based on the molecular sieving and solution-diffusion effect in nanofiltration separation, the correlation between initial concentration and mass transfer coefficient of three typical phenolic acids from Salvia miltiorrhiza was fitted to analyze the relationship among mass transfer coefficient, molecular weight and concentration. The experiment showed a linear relationship between operation pressure and membrane flux. Meanwhile, the membrane flux was gradually decayed with the increase of solute concentration. On the basis of the molecular sieving and solution-diffusion effect, the mass transfer coefficient and initial concentration of three phenolic acids showed a power function relationship, and the regression coefficients were all greater than 0.9. The mass transfer coefficient and molecular weight of three phenolic acids were negatively correlated with each other, and the order from high to low is protocatechualdehyde >rosmarinic acid> salvianolic acid B. The separation mechanism of nanofiltration for phenolic acids was further clarified through the analysis of the correlation of molecular weight and nanofiltration mass transfer coefficient. The findings provide references for nanofiltration separation, especially for traditional Chinese medicine with phenolic acids.

RESUMO

To optimize the concentrate process of alkaloid from Leonurus japonicus by nanofiltration-ultrafiltration coupling technology with response surface methodology. The experiment showed that after ultrafiltration pre-treatment, the total protein removal rate was 94.38% in aqueous extract from L. japonicus, and the nanofiltration technology had obvious advantages over the conventional concentrate process. The optimal concentrate conditions were as follows:molecular weight cut-off 450, pH 3.07, concentration of stachydrine hydrochloride 80.15 mg•L⁻¹, and concentration of the total alkaloid 285.73 mg•L⁻¹. The cut-off rate was 93.37% and 95.85% respectively for stachydrine hydrochloride and the total alkaloid under the optimum conditions, with a relative error of 0.79% and 1.16% respectively. The combination of Box-Behnken design and response surface analysis can well optimize the concentrate process of L. japonicus by nanofiltration, and the results provide the basis for nanofiltration concentrate for heat-sensitive traditional Chinese medicine.

RESUMO

Panax quinquefolium and Panax ginseng were investigated using non-linear chemical fingerprint technology, and a novel method to identify two ginsengs and different producing areas of P. quinquefolium was put forward. The non-linear chemical fingerprints of P. quinquefolium(collected from Canada, Jilin and Shaanxi)and P. ginseng (collected from Jilin)were obtained by reactions took place in the system of "H2SO4-MnSO4-CH3COCH3-NaBrO3" and their system similarities were evaluated. In the meantime, the quality difference in P. quinquefolium from different producing areas was evaluated using HPLC to determine the contents of main 7 ginsenosides. As a result, the non-linear chemical fingerprints exhibited a good reproducibility and characteristic when dosage of detection was 0.4 g and the reaction temperature was 37 ℃. The fingerprint characteristics of P. quinquefolium were obviously different from P. ginseng. The two species of ginsengs could be distinguished by the visual fingerprint characteristics, and P. quinquefolium from different producing areas were identified by the system similarities. Furthermore, HPLC analysis showed that the quality P. quinquefolium from different producing areas was varied, which indicated that rapid identification and quality evaluation of P. quinquefolium become very important and necessary. Compared with HPLC technology, non-linear chemical fingerprint is a more convenient, rapid and economic technology. This study provides a novel strategy to distinguish and evaluate P. quinquefolium and P. ginseng, which will provide a reference for the quality evaluation and control of Chinese medicine.

RESUMO

Objective To summarize the main nursing points of toxic epidermal necrolysis. Methods On the foundation of conventional therapy, an overall assessment was carried out among 10 patients with toxic epidermal necrolysis. On loose skin with erythema, a combination of zinc oxide and talcum powder was externally applied to skin lesions where blisters were not broken in order to promote dry-style exfoliation of the skin lesion. After infrared irradiation, gauze containing MEBO was applied externally to skin lesions with eroded secretions to moisturize them, thus facilitating healing of the skin lesion. Meanwhile, mucosa of special part of patient's body was well nursed. Protective isolation was enhanced in order to reduce secondary infection. The patient's conditions were observed closely. Diet guidance was also done. Results All the patients were dry-style exfoliated with treatment ranges reaching up to 30%to 60%of the affected area. Dry-style exfoliation time was between 5 to 10 days, with an average of 7.20 ±1.69 days. The area of skin lesion erosion ranged from 10% to 60%. Following the external application of MEBO gauze to moisturize and heal, skin lesion healing time ranged from 7 to 18 days with an average of 13.70 ±3.40 days. Conclusion According to the specific situation of toxic epidermal necrolysis, targeted nursing and treatment can promote the dry-style exfoliation of skin lesions, reduce the area of skin erosions, alleviate the suffering of patients and promote healing of the skin lesion.

RESUMO

In order to compare the differences of 35 Menthae Herba samples collected on the market and at producing areas, the contents of six total terpenoids, the essential oil and chromatographic fingerprints were analyzed, which provided evidences for drawing up the commodity specifications and grading criteria of Menthae Herba. GC-MS method was used to analyze the chemical constituents of 35 different samples. The chromatographic fingerprints obtained by using GC were then evaluated by similarity analysis, hierarchical clustering analysis and principal component analysis. The relativity between the content of six terpenoids and the essential oil were studied. In this study, the chemical profiles of 35 samples from different producing areas had significant disparity. All samples collected in the report could be categorized into four chemical types, L-menthol, pulegone, carvone and L-menthone, but the chemical profiles had no relationship with the areas. The chromatographic fingerprints of the samples from different types were dissimilar, while the different producing areas were difficult to be separated. It was indicated that the content of volatile oil was positively correlated with the content of L-menthol and the sum of six total terpenoids. The content of the essential oil, L-menthol and the sum of six total terpenoids of Menthae Herba were considered as one of the commercial specifications and grading criteria. These results in the research could be helpful to draw up the commercial specification and grading criteria of Menthae Herba from a view of chemical information.

RESUMO

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of glutathione (GSH) on blood coagulation. The normal plasma samples and mixed plasma samples were taken randomly, and into which the normal dose and different concentration of GSH were added. The prothrombin time (PT), activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT), fibrinogen (FIB) and thrombin time (TT) were detected by using coagulation method before and after treatment with GSH. The detection results of normal plasma and mixed plasma containing GSH of different concentration were compared and analyzed with linear regression. The results showed that the APTT and FIB values of the plasma containing 2.5 mg/L glutathione or more, PT values of the plasma containing 10 mg/L glutathione or more, and TT values of the plasma containing 1250 mg/L glutathione or more were significantly different from those results of normal plasma or mixed plasma (P < 0.01) . There was a linear relation between all of the detection results of PT,APTT, FIB, TT and glutathione concentrations. The results of TT, APTT, PT and FIB detection in patient plasma were statistically different (P < 0.01) before and after treatment with normal concentration GSH. It is concluded that glutathione can influence detection results of coagulation function.

RESUMO

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To construct certain chimeric E3s expression plasmids targetting oncoprotein Ras by harnessing the theory of protein knockdown.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>We chose the binding domain of Raf-1, PI3K, RalGDS, and the function domain of F-Box as well as the U-Box to construct the plasmids. Then used the double enzyme, PCR, and sequence to test the validity and integrity of the cloned nucleotide fragments. The expression efficiency of the plasmids in eukaryotic cells was detected by Western blot analysis.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>Five of 6 plasmids in this study expressed the corresponding fusion proteins in HEK293T cells, and (RBD+CRD)(Raf-1)- U-Box-pcDNA3.1 can knocked down the protein level of Ras in PANC-1 cells.</p><p><b>CONCLUSIONS</b>We successfully constructed the chimeric E3 expression plasmids, which provides a solid basis for further research on protein knockdown.</p>

RESUMO

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To establish multiplex PCR-based assays for detecting H.influenzae and H.parainfluenzae. And the PCR-based assays were applied to detect the carriage rates of H.influenzae and H.parainfluenzae in nasopharyngeal swab specimens which were collected from healthy children.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Multiplex primers for species-specific PCR were designed by using DNAstar soft based on the sequences of 16S rRNA genes from genus Haemophilus to detect H.influenzae and H.parainfluenzae.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>The sensitivity of the 16S rRNA PCR assay for detecting H.influenzae and H.parainfluenzae was 97.53% and 100% respectively, and the specificity was 95.89% and 96.63% respectively. Youden's Index on the ability to detect H.influenzae and H.parainfluenzae was 0.9342 and 0.9663 respectively. 666 nasopharyngeal swab specimens were collected from healthy children. The detection rates of H.influenzae and H.parainfluenzae were 14.11% and 16.07% respectively by using isolation and culture methods. The detection rates of H.influenzae and H.parainfluenzae were 43.54% and 57.96% respectively by 16S rRNA PCR assays. The carriage rates of serotypes a, b, c, d, e, f and non-typeable isolates were 0% (0/666), 0.15% (1/666), 1.20% (8/666), 0.15% (1/666), 1.20% (8/666), 1.80% (12/666), 95.50% (636/666) respectively.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>The multiplex PCR assays were very rapid, reliable and feasible methods for detection of H.influenzae and H.parainfluenzae in pharyngeal swab specimens which were compared to conventional isolation and culture methods. 95.5% of H.influenzae strains in healthy children were nontypeable. The encapsulated or typable strains were mainly three serotypes which was c, e, and f serotype.</p>
