Introduction: Chronic non-communicable diseases are a reflection of the inflammatory process. Objective: To analyze the nutritional characteristics and the inflammatory factor of diets used by patients on renal replacement therapy. Methods: Cross-sectional study conducted in BaraÌo de Lucena Hospital with 72 patients. Social, clinical and dietary data were collected. The analysis of nutrients was made by the Brazilian Table of Food Composition and the Nutritional Composition Table Food consumed in Brazil, the inflammatory factor was assessed according to the book The Inflammation-Free Diet Plan. Results: All nutrients analyzed showed to be inadequate, except magnesium, vitamin A and vitamin C. Most patients were classified as strongly inflammatory diet. Conclusions: There was a mismatch in almost all nutrients and reviews that the inflammatory factor diet can represent this inadequacy. So it seems necessary to reflect on the role of nutrients in the promotion or prevention / reversal of the inflammatory process by which these patients are submitted.(AU)
