RESUMO

Objective To analyze the differences of motor function between Chinese patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD)and normal children, and to explore the changes of motor function in Chinese DMD patients. Methods From April,2016 to August,2017,155 DMD patients(DMD group)and 24 normal boys(control group)were given 6-minute walk test, timed rise from floor test,4-stair test, and 9 meters walking time test. Results The 6-minute walk distance(6MWD)was lower in DMD group than in the control group(t=-9.534,P<0.001), and the 9 meters walking time was higher in DMD group than in the control group(t=-7.460,P<0.001).There was no significant difference in 6MWD and 9 meters walking time between two groups at the age of 6.0 to 6.9 years(P>0.05);however,the difference was significant after seven years old(t>2.648,P<0.001).The completion times of timed rise from floor test and 4-stair test group were distributed between 1.95 to 27.27 seconds and 1.18 to 19.17 seconds, respectively,in DMD group. The 6MWD decreased from 7.0 years old,and 9 meters walking time increased from 7.2 years old.The completion time of timed rise from floor test increased from 5.2 years old, and the completion time of 4-stair test increased from 5.5 years old. Conclusion The motor function of Chinese DMD patients is worse than normal children at the same age.The age nodes of the movement indicators are different in DMD patients. The timed rise from floor test and the 4-stair test are earlier affected by the disease.

RESUMO

@#Objective To identify the role of paravertebral muscles in the pathogenesis of scoliosis.MethodsParavertebral muscles were gotten from the 37 patients(12 congenital scoliosis patients and 25 idiopathic scoliosis patients) during the operations.Cryostat sections were cut by 10 μm nd stained with H&E,m-GT,NADH-TR,ATPase.ResultsMyogenic changes, incuding muscle fibrosis, fiber necrosis, etc, were common in paravertebral muscles of scoliosis patients, however regenerating fibers were quite rare.Diffuse fibrosis and remarkablely disorganized fiber directions presented in most of congenital scoliosis patients, while focal fibrosis without necrosis in most of idiopathic scoliosis patients.Neurogenic changes were found in one congenital scoliosis patient and 4 idiopathic scoliosis patients, however four of the five patients had undergone orthopedics.Thickened capsule wall of muscle spindles and connective tissue infiltration in muscle spindles were found in both kinds of scoliosis.ConclusionThere are some differences on pathological changes of paravertebral muscles between congenital scoliosis and idiopathic scoliosis, which indicates that paravertebral muscles may play a special role in the pathogenesis of idiopathic scoliosis.

RESUMO

@#ObjectiveTo investigate the incidence of skeletal and/or articular malformations in central core disease (CCD) patients, and their risk of malignant hyperthermia (MH) in orthopedics. Methods28 unrelated patients with central core disease collected in the past 23 years were analyzed retrospectively. Results22 patients showed limb muscle weakness, while 6 patients didn't show any clinical symptom. Skeletal and/or articular malformations appeared in 21 patients, including joint contracture in 11, joint dislocation in 9, scoliosis in 12, lordosis in 5 and thoracic deformity in 1. 6 of the 10 patients could not endure orthopedic operation because of MH attack or dubitable MH attack. Calcium-induced calcium release (CICR) test performed on other 8 patients with MH family history or MH attack showed all those patients were MH susceptibilities. ConclusionSkeletal and/or articular malformations are common in CCD, as well as MH attack in orthopedics.

RESUMO

@#ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of simvastatin on severe complications and prognosis of subarachnoid heamorrhage (SAH).Methods98 cases with SAH were randomly divided into the treatment groups and control group (finally, there were 32 cases in treatment group, 48 cases in control group). Patients in treatment group were given simvastatin 20 mg/day, and those in control group were treated with routine therapy. The incidences of cerebral vasospasm, hydrocephalus, rebleeding and mortality between the two groups were compared.ResultsThe incidence of hydrocephalus of treatment group was 3.13%; that of control group was 18.7%, there was a significantly difference between two groups (P<0.05). There were no significant differences for incidences of cerebral vasospasm, rebleeding and mortality between two groups (P>0.05).ConclusionSimvastatin can reduce the occurrence of hydrocephalus after SAH.
