RESUMO

Effect of 10% lard diet on lipid compositions and the activity of cyto-chrome oxidase of cardiac mitochondria from guinea pigs was observed. The results showed that after feeding the diet for 50 days, the activity of cyto-chrome oxidase of the experimental animals tended to be lowered; the total cholesterol content was increased; in contrast, the total phospholipid content was decreased.
