RESUMO

ObjectiveTo explore the impact of different types of virtual reality environments balance exercise on human balance and posture control. MethodsFrom March to April, 2022, 30 male students from Dalian University of Technology were recruited to accept VR balance training of dynamic background (dynamic VR training) and static background (static VR training), respectively, with an interval of one week. They were measured the average moving speed of the center of pressure of human body under eight conditions before and after training, namely open-eye floor standing, close-eye floor standing, static VR background floor standing, dynamic VR background floor standing, open-eye sponge pad standing, close-eye sponge pad standing, static VR background sponge pad standing, and dynamic VR background sponge pad standing. Meanwhile, the weight of human body sensation was calculated. ResultsBefore training, the average movement speed of center of pressure was higher under the static VR than under open-eye (|t| > 2.811, P < 0.01), and lower than under close-eye (t > 3.279, P < 0.01) on both planes; while it was higher under dynamic VR than under close-eye (|t| > 4.830, P < 0.001). After dynamic VR training, the average movement speed of center of pressure increased under open-eye stable floor standing (t = 2.305, P < 0.05), decreased under close-eye on both planes (t > 3.405, P < 0.01), and decreased under static and dynamic VR on both planes (|t| > 3.285, P < 0.01). After static VR training, the average movement speed of center of pressure increased under open-eye floor standing (t = 2.224, P < 0.05), decreased under close-eye sponge pad standing (t = 2.223, P < 0.05), and decreased under dynamic VR on both planes (|t| > 2.380, P < 0.05). The weight of vision decreased after training (t > 4.132, P < 0.001), and the visual weight under normal proprioception was less after dynamic VR training than after static VR training (t = 3.611, P < 0.01). ConclusionUnder static VR background, the balance stability is poorer than under open-eye, but stronger than under close-eye. Under dynamic VR background, the balance stability is poorer under close-eye. VR balance training may decrease the stability without interference, but improve the stability under interference, which may result from reducing the dependence on visual sensation and strengthening the use of vestibular sensation, especially after VR training with dynamic background.

RESUMO

Hearing and Speech Rehabilitation is a new specialty under medical technology . It includes two independent subjects abroad, Audiology and Speech-Language pathology, and their training systems, degree systems and qualification systems are all different. It also developed into two branches in China. The audiology personnel training formed two different modes, the medical mode and the science mode. According to current professional orientation and demand for talents, it is needed to establish an academic organization for professional education as soon as possible and develop the undergraduate education standards for the science mode . It is important to pay attention to the knowledge and skills related to medicine and the post competency in training. It is necessary to take advantage of the characteristics of the specialty to enhance the university-enterprise cooperation and focus on the combination of production, education and research.

RESUMO

Objective@#To compare the effect on the flow conditions of adhesives and the retention force of restorations among different cement-retained methods of implant-supported fixed prostheses.@*Methods@#Four common cement-retained methods were selected, including the occlusal hole for screw access (OH), the lingual hole for adhesives overflow (LH), the resin replica for titanium abutment (RR), and the traditional cement-retained method (the control group). The adhesive used in this study was resin-modified glass ionomer cement. The two-dimensional analysis models of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) were established. The flow conditions of adhesives in the adhesion process was analyzed by the CFD analysis. The internal filling ratio and the amount of neck overflow of adhesives below the edge of the prosthesis were calculated. Ten zirconia prostheses in each group were processed and cemented. The retention force was examined by mechanical tensile experiments in vitro.@*Results@#The CFD analysis showed the internal filling ratio of adhesives from high to low was the LH group, the OH group, the RR group and the control group. The amount of neck overflow of adhesives below the edge of the prosthesis from less to more was the RR group, the OH group, the LH group and the control group. The retention force was (240.7±33.9) N in the control group, (278.2±59.1) N in the OH group, (292.9±47.9) N in the LH group, and (262.8±59.4) N in the RR group. There was a statistically significant difference in the retention force between the LH group and the control group (P=0.029). There was no significant difference among the other groups (P>0.05).@*Conclusions@#The modified cement-retained methods can effectively reduce the amount of neck overflow of adhesives, and improve the filling condition of adhesive in the adhesive clearance to ensure the retention force of the prostheses. Clinically, the appropriate modified cement-retained method should be selected according to the three-dimensional position of the implant and the position of prosthetic margin.

RESUMO

Objective: To investigate the stress and stress distribution generated on each component of implant prosthodontic system and surrounding cortical bone when different diameters of screw-access hole (SAH) were prepared on molar crown. Methods: A fimite element(FE) model of partial mandible without first molar was set up, and an Bego implant was insert into it. A total of 5 models of the crown were computer-simulated by varying the diameter (Φ = 0-4 mm) of the SAH. The loading forces were 200 N axially (0°) and 100 N obliquely (45°) respectively on occlusive surface. The FE analysis was performed by computer. Results: Φ ≤3 mm: stress on occlusal surface of crown was almost unchanged and mainly distributed in the loading area. Φ = 4 mm, stress appeared an obvious rise and reached the maximum, the stress concentration under vertical load was changed to the hole margin. In vertical loading, screw could remain at a relatively low stress level when diameter did not exceed 1 mm. No changes on other components was observed. Conclusion: SAH diameter of 1 mm is recommended when a cement-and screw-retained crown is used in posterior region.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE@#To investigate the relationship between passing rate of otoacoustic emission (OAE) and pure tone thresholds.@*METHOD@#OAE including both transient evoked otoacoustic emission (TEOAE) and distortion products otoacoustic emission (DPOAE) as well as pure tone thresholds were measured in subjects with normal hearing and sensory hearing loss. The passing rates of OAE were calculated in subjects with different age groups and different pure tone thresholds.@*RESULT@#TEOAE can identify hearing loss at frequencies of 2 kHz and below. For TEOAE and 2 kHz DPOAE, passing rate has no difference between different age groups. For 4 kHz DPOAE, the passing rate in age over 50 years group is lower than other groups. The passing rate decreased as the pure tone threshold increased. When TEOAE and DPOAE suggest " pass", 70%, 81%, 79% subjects had pure tone threshold lower than 25 dB HL and 94%, 96%, 93% lower than 40 dB HL respectively. When they suggest "refer", 93%, 84%, 87% subjects had pure tone threshold higher than 25 dB HL and 71%, 58%, 68% higher than 40 dB HL respectively.@*CONCLUSION@#TEOAE is sensitive to hearing loss at middle and low frequencies but not at high frequencies. Measuring both TEOAE and DPOAE might provide more information of hearing loss at 0.5, 1.0, 2.0 and 4.0 kHz. It is worth noting that even OAE suggest "pass" or "refer", because there is still exist the possibility of hearing loss.

RESUMO

DLUT4060 piezoelectric multi-component force platforms and DVM8820 three-dimensional infrared image capture system were used to test the sit-to-walk (STW) movements of 11 healthy elderly (72. 6 +/- 12. 2 years old) and 11 healthy young (19. 7 +/-1. 3 years old) individuals. Firstly, we studied the effects of seat-heights on the ground reaction forces, the velocity of the center of mass, and action time duration. Then we discussed the movement strategies and falling risks of the persons in the two age groups respectively. Finally, we decided the best seat height for the two age groups. It was found that the best seat heights for both the two age groups were 100% popliteal height. This height may make the subject get the greatest biomechanical advantages and the lowest falling risks. The popliteal height must be concerned when designing and fixing up the public activity area facilities and daily life of the elderly. To some extent, it can reduce the falling risk of the elderly.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVES: The Tinnitus Handicap Inventory (THI) is a commonly used self-reporting tinnitus questionnaire. We undertook this study to determine the reliability and validity of the Chinese-Mandarin version of the Tinnitus Handicap Inventory (THI-CM) for measuring tinnitus-related handicaps. METHODS: We tested the test-retest reliability, internal reliability, and construct validity of the THI-CM. Two-hundred patients seeking treatment for primary or secondary tinnitus in Southwest China were asked to complete THI-CM prior to clinical evaluation. Patients were evaluated by a clinician using standard methods, and 40 patients were asked to complete THI-CM a second time 14+/-3 days after the initial interview. RESULTS: The test-retest reliability of THI-CM was high (Pearson correlation, 0.98), as was the internal reliability (Cronbach's alpha, 0.93). Factor analysis indicated that THI-CM has a unifactorial structure. CONCLUSION: The THI-CM version is reliable. The total score in THI-CM can be used to measure tinnitus-related handicaps in Mandarin-speaking populations.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE@#To learn the relationship between neural response telemetry(NRT) threshold and behavior T-level in cochlear implants patients and to learn how can we made NRT more useful for us to get the best map for cochlear implants who could not cooperate well to get the accurate behavior T-level.@*METHOD@#Seventy-seven children implanted with the cochlear Nucleus 24 system. At each mapping procedure, vNRT threshold and behavior T-level of electrodes 1, 6, 11, 16, 20 were tested. After a time of experience and training, the children could cooperate well for test and the behavior T-level can be used for mapping. At the same time, vNRT and behavior T-level of the same electrode were recorded for statistic analysis.@*RESULT@#Correlation coefficients (r) of vNRT and behavior T-level of each electrode were ranged from 0.40 to 0.54 respectively. The vNRT across each electrode ranged from 135 microV to 215 microV and the behavior T-level of each electrode ranged from 120 CL to 190 CL. The mean difference between vNRT and behavior T-level of electrode 1, 6, 11, 16, 20 were 27 +/- 14, 24 +/- 13, 31 +/- 14, 26 +/- 13, 20 +/- 13 respectively. The maximum difference between vNRT and behavior T-level was 65 and the minimum was -15. The group mean T-level is ranged from 148 CL to 159 CL and the group mean vNRT is ranged from 168 microV to 186 microV from electrodes 20 to electrodes 1. The NRT and behavior T-level both are going up higher a little bit from electrodes 20 to electrodes 1.@*CONCLUSION@#NRT can be used to speculate the behavior T level for young child and adults who can not do behavior test. But because of the large individual difference, the result will not always be accurate. So, behavior T-level test should be the first choice for cochlear mapping patients.

RESUMO

Objective To investigate residual hearing of children with sensorineural hearing loss in whom wave V was not found in ABR testing and to emphasize the importance of behavioral audiometry in determining the residual hearing. Methods Residual hearing obtained by behavioral audiometry of 101 children with SNHL was studied in relation to the absence of wave V in both click-ABR and tone burst-ABR tests. Results All children have residual hearing of different degrees at different frequencies. There appeared to be a higher percentage of lowfrequency residual hearing than middle and high frequencies. Also, the residual hearing at low frequencies appeared to be better than those in the middle and high frequencies.Average residual hearing thresholds in the right ears from 500 to 4 000 Hz were 106.81±7.13,110.00±7.90,111.78±5.22,112.06±7.08 dB HL and those in the left ears were 98.01±3.98,111.30±7.18,112.06±7.08,108.33±7.23 dB HL.Conclusion The absence of wave V in ABR does not mean total deafness. For those children with no wave V in ABR,behavioral audiometry must be conducted to determine children's behavioral hearing thresholds in order to know their residual hearing.

RESUMO

The purpose of this study was to examine and analyze the distribution of pressure under the feet School Children who were carrying different loads on their backs and were walking through the Footscan plantar pressure distribution analytical system. The result showed that the maximum force on the second and third metatarsus increased and the contact phase of walking delayed while walking with a bag weighing 4 kilograms. The variation of center of sure (COP) in mediolateral (M/L) direction was larger. The children must move limb to maintain balance. The proportion of foot pronation and supination enhanced the cause of an ankle sprain. The findings of this study suggest that, for prevention of abnormal corpus callosum and for the normal development of the arch, attention should be given to restricting the weight of children's schoolbags and to avoiding their overloaded walking or standing for a long time.
