RESUMO

Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of Baizhu Shengjiang Decoction combined with Prucalopride Succinate Tablets for chronic functional constipation. Methods Sixty patients with chronic functional constipation were randomly divided into treatment group and control group, 30 cases in each group. The treatment group was treated with Baizhu Shengjiang Decoction combined with Prucalopride Succinate Tablets orally, and the control group was treated with oral administration of Prucalopride Succinate Tablets alone. The therapeutic effects on traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) symptoms and constipation, and the follow-up therapeutic effect of the two groups were evaluated after treatment. During the three months after the completion of treatment course, the recurrence of constipation was monitored. Results (1) The cure rate of the treatment group was 90.0% and that of the control group was 60.0%, indicating that the therapeutic effect on TCM symptoms in the treatment group was stronger than that of the control group(P < 0.05).(2) In respect of the relief of constipation, the markedly effective rate was 93.3% in the treatment group and was 50.0% in the control group, and the overall effective rate was 100.0% in the treatment group and was 73.3% in the control group, the difference being significant between the two groups(P<0.05 or P<0.01).(3) During the treatment, the percentage of patients with weekly completely spontaneous defecation frequency ≥3 was 86.7% in the treatment group, and was 53.3% in the control group, the difference being significant (P < 0.05). (4) The results of 3-month follow-up after the completion of treatment course showed that one case from the treatment group had the recurrence of constipation, and the recurred cases from the control group were 6, the difference being significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion Oral use of Baizhu Shengjiang Decoction combined with Prucalopride Succinate Tablets exerts certain therapeutic effect for chronic functional constipation, which is effective both on relieving constipation symptoms and on reducing recurrence rate.

RESUMO

Objective:To evaluate the bactericidal effects of nano-silver against Enterococcus faecalis(E.faecalis) growing in multi-species biofilm.Methods:85 biofilms were established using MBECTM P&G Assay with E.faecalis together with Fusobacterium nucleatum and P.melaninogenica.Thereafter,10 specimens were used as the controls,75 were randomly divided into 3 groups(n=25),and treated with 0.1% nano-silver (12-15 nm) solution,0.1% nano-silver (100 nm) solution and 2% hypochlorite solution, respectively. Each sample was then separated into 2 different tubes.PMA was added to one of the tubes, and the other was left untreated. Then,DNA extraction and qPCR were performed. The cycle threshold(Ct) values between samples were compared by paired t test. Results:The Ct values of the samples treated with PMA were higher than that without PMA(P=0.000) in the group of 0.1% nano-silver solution(12-15 nm)was higher than that in the group of 0.1% nano-silver solution(100 nm)and 2% sodium hypochlorite solution.(P<0.05);the value in the group of 0.1% nano-silver solution(100 nm)was larger than that in 2% sodium hypochlorite solution(P<0.05).Conclusion:0.1% nano silver solution might have a strong bactericidal effect against against E.faecalis growing in multi-species biofilm. The bactericidal effect may be enhanced with the small size of silver particles.

RESUMO

Objective:To analyse viable Enterococcus faecalis(E.faecalis)in root-well-filled teeth associated with failed endodontic treatment by using propidium monoazide (PMA)in combination with real time qPCR.Methods:Bacterial samples were extracted from 34 root-canal-treated teeth with post-treatment apical periodontitis. Each sample was separated into 2 different tubes.PMA was added to one of the tubes, and the other was left untreated. Then,DNA extraction and qPCR were performed.Results:E.faecalis was found in 20 of the 34 samples(58.8%).In PMA treated and none-treaten samples the Ct value of E.faecalis was 25.1 2 ±2.04 and 24.62 ± 2.02 respectively(P =0.001 ).Conclusion:PMA may be feasible in differentiating viable and dead Enterococcus faecalis cells.

RESUMO

Purpose: To explore the therapeutic method for lameness caused by lumbar spinal stenosis. Methods: 28 cases of the patients with lameness were treated by puncturing Dachangshu (BL 25), Weizhong (BL 40), Chengshan (BL 57) and Kunlun (BL 60) and simultaneously another 26 cases were treated with routine method for control study. Results:After the treatments for four weeks, the scores of the symptoms in the two groups were remarkably elevated. In the acupuncture treatment, the results showed remarkable effect in 4 cases, effect in 21 cases. In the routine treatment, the results showed remarkable effect in 4 cases and effect in 8 cases. Conclusion: acupuncture treatment is better than the routine conventional treatment for lameness caused by lumbar spinal stenosis.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVETo investigate the protective effects of puerarin against myocardial injury in patients with hypertension during perioperational period.

METHODSThirty-four patients with hypertension underwent general anesthesia were randomly divided into the control group and the puerarin group, 500mg puerarin was given to the puerarin group 1hr before anesthesia induction by venoclysis and to the control group, normal saline was given instead. The concentration of serum cardiac troponin I (cTnI) and isoenzyme of creatine kinase containing M and B subunits (CK-MB) were measured before anesthesia induction and 2 hrs after operation respectively.

RESULTSThe serum concentration of cTnI and CK-MB were insignificantly different in the two groups before induction, the two indexes increased in different degrees (P <0.01) 2 hrs after operation in both groups, but the increments in the puerarin group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P< 0.01).

CONCLUSIONStress of operation and anesthesia could induce myocardial injury in patients with hypertension, which can be prevented by puerarin medicated during perioperational period.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVETo observe the influence of Niupo Zhibao pellet (NZP) on transforming growth factor-beta1 (TGF-beta1) and its receptor's expression.

METHODSEndotoxic shock model was established by intravenous injection of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) 1.5 mg/kg and intraperitoneal injection of D-galactosamine 100 mg/kg, and intervened by NZP, TGF-beta1 and its receptor's expression in lung tissue were detected by immunohistochemical method.

RESULTSNZP could enhance the TGF-beta1 and its receptor's expression in endotoxic shock lung tissue, and reduce the injury of lung.

CONCLUSIONThe mechanism of NZP in reducing endotoxic shock lung injury is possibly related with its effect in enhancing the TGF-beta1 and its receptor's expression in lung tissue.

RESUMO

To explore an effective method with few operative complications for treating circumferential mixed hemorrhoids (CMH).Sixty three cases of CMH (Group A) were treated with limited external incision and internal ligation combined with restoration of intervenient skin and 34 cases (Group B) were treated with traditional external incision and internal ligation as control. Anal canal diameter (ACD), anal canal quiescent pressure (ACQP) and anal canal systolic pressure (ACSP) were determined before and after operation. Short term and long term therapeutic effects were also observed and compared in the two groups.Short term and long term therapeutic effects in Group A were better than those in Group B (P
