RESUMO

A novel and portable device is proposed to monitor motor rehabilitation equipment, which can be mounted on most equipment with rotor shaft. The software of the device, whose main functions include equipment configuration, monitoring and statistical computation, is developed based on available sensor. The data collected by the device serve both department managers to learn the efficiency of the equipment, and physicians and therapists to understand the physical conditions of the patients who perform training exercises with the monitored rehabilitation equipment. About 2000 hours' monitoring has been carried out, and the experimental result indicates that the monitoring device is applicable to many types of motor rehabilitation equipment and achieves good monitoring accuracy. The data aggregated by the device can be used to evaluate the motor functions of the patients and make rehabilitation training plan. Besides, it is agreed by physicians and therapists that the device is easy-to-use, robust and has good real-time performance. The monitoring device thus holds the promise of boosting the development of digitalized rehabilitation medicine.

RESUMO

Objective To design a measuring system for operative gestures used for the crew in armored vehicles. Methods The MEMS sensor was used to collect gesture parameters of important parts of four crew members, such as the head, neck, trunk, arms, legs. The infrared tracking auxiliary measurement was used to calibrate the gesture parameters of arms of drivers. The wireless transceiver was used to transmit data to the control unit for preprocessing and then send the data to the collector for storage, before being transmitted to the back-end computers.A software system was used to process and display the body posture parameters. Results and Conclusion The system can mesure the operative gestures of the crew and provide means by which to analyze the kinematics for the crew in armored vehicles.

RESUMO

PURPOSE: Real-time monitoring of urinary bladder volume can not only provide information on urinary bladder function more precisely in laboratories and in the setting of intravesical pressure monitoring, but can also help areflexic neurogenic bladder patients have notice of the timing for optimal urination to prevent secondary complications. Thus we introduce a new implantable bladder volume monitoring device and its usefulness. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Ten male Sprague-Dawley rats were used under intraperitoneal anesthesia. Two microelectrodes produced by a micro-electrical-mechanical systems (MEMS) process were stitched onto each side wall of the urinary bladder and 25 G needles were inserted through the bladder dome. The distances between two microelectrodes converted from capacitances recorded by LCR meter were monitored in real-time during cystometry. Urinary bladder volume was estimated with its shape approximated as a sphere. RESULTS: Estimated bladder volume correlated well statistically with infused volume in (p0.05, repeated measures ANOVA). CONCLUSIONS: In our animal model, an implantable volume-monitoring device produced reliable data. Therefore, we expect that it should be an excellent tool for detecting urinary bladder volume and producing more accurate and useful information during urodynamic laboratory studies with small animals. Furthermore, we expect that this study will be the foundation of research for the clinical application of bladder volume monitoring devices to areflexic neurogenic bladder patients.

RESUMO

This paper designs a new distributing structure of nozzles in medical micro-jet device on the bases of emulating results. This new structure can improve the output coefficient and flux of drug delivery. Then, a micro-jet device is fabricated by MEMS technology based on this structure. The experiment results indicate that the number of output droplet is approximated to normal distribution on droplet diameter and velocity. Moreover, the droplet velocity and the flux are both improved in this new micro-jet device, whose values are 2.93m/s and 11.77?l/s respectively.
