RESUMO
The paper elaborates the practice of reading promotion inside and outside hospital libraries,mainly introduces the situation of reading group held for patients and their families,and summarizes co-reading experience of patient groups from aspects of book selection,participation of hospitals' psychologic counselors,patient reading guides and libraries,etc.

Envelhecer não é mais sinônimo de estagnação e de falta de perspectivas,pois, na atualidade, entende-se que o sujeito continuaaprendendo e formando-se, ao longo de toda a vida. O presentetexto relata a experiência de um círculo de leitura voltado a pessoasem idade madura, embasando-se em estudos de Yunes (1999),Vargas (1997), Zilberman (2001), Iser (1996) e Bobbio (1997), parainvestigar a leitura como possibilidade de ressignificar a reali dadeexterna e interna. Ler em círculo revela-se um exercício solidário eintersubjetivo de renovação da prática de leitura, que propõe aosinterlocutores, novos encontros e diálogos.
To grow old is no longer synonymous of stagnation and lack of prospects,because, nowadays, it is understood that the subject keepson learning and forming, throughout life. This article reports the experienceof a reading circle designated to people in middle age, basingon studies made by Yunes (1999), Vargas (1997), Zilberman (2001),Iser (1996) and Bobbio (1997), to investigate the reading as a possibilityof reframe the internal and external reality. Reading in circlebecomes a solidarity and intersubjective exercise of renewal of thepractice of reading, which proposes to the partners, new meetingsand dialogues.
