Purpose: To assess the agreement between the diagnosis made by trained technicians at vision centers (VC) and oculoplasty specialists at the base hospital, in patients referred from VC to the orbit and oculoplasty clinic of a tertiary eye care hospital in south India. Methods: This was a retrospective study that compared the findings of VC technicians and the specialists of the orbit and oculoplasty services in a base hospital. A total of 384 patients referred from 17 VCs between May 2021 and May 2022 were included. The diseases were categorized according to the site of involvement as diseases of the eyelids (43%), diseases of the lacrimal system (37.3%), orbital diseases (15.6), and others (4.1%). The mean age of the patients was 35.9 years and 50.6% were females. Medical records of all referred patients who attended the orbit clinic were analyzed. Results: Of the 384 patients, 378 (98.67%) were confirmed to have orbital and adnexal diseases. There was an overall 80% agreement between the diagnosis made by trained VC technicians and oculoplasty specialists; the kappa coefficient was 0.78 (95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.76 to 0.80), with a P value < 0.001. The agreement was the highest for diseases of the lacrimal system (90.9%, kappa coefficient 0.87), followed by eyelid pathologies (80%, kappa coefficient: 0.77). Of these, 54.8% of patients were managed with surgical procedures. Conclusion: There is good agreement between the findings of VC technicians and oculoplasty specialists. Trained technicians can help in the early detection and referral to higher centers. They also help to make sure adherence to treatment and periodic evaluation, especially in resource?constraint settings.

@#Objective: To study the effects of vitamin C (VC) on reversing cisplatin (DDP) resistance in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and the mechanism. Methods: Human OSCC CAL27 cells were cultured in vitro and DDP-resistant CAL27 cell line (CAL27/ DDP) was screened by increasing concentration gradient method. Plate clone formation assay, CCK-8, Wound healing assay, Annexin V-FITC/PI staining flow cytometry were used to determine the effects of DDP alone or in combination with VC on colony formation, proliferation, migration and apoptosis of CAL27/DDP cells. Western blotting was used to detect the expression level of P-gp protein in CAL27 cells, CAL27/DDP cells and VC treated CAL27/DDP cells. Results: The inhibition concentration (IC50) of DDP increased significantly in CAL27/DDP cells as compared with that in CAL27 cells (P<0.05), indicating CAL27/DDP was DDP-resistant.After the combination with VC, the IC50 of DDP on CAL27/DDP cells was significantly reduced compared with that of DDP alone (P<0.05). DDP combined with VC significantly inhibited the migration of CAL27/DDP cells (P<0.01), and promoted the apoptosis rate (P<0.01). The expression level of P-gp protein in CAL27/DDP cells was increased compared with that in CAL27 cells (P<0.05), but decreased after VC intervention (P<0.05). Conclusion: VC can reverse DDP-resistance in OSCC cells by inhibiting P-gp protein expression.

This paper presents a design of multifunctional portable automated external defibrillator based on STM32F103VC SCM. The defibrillator mainly realizes the defibrillation and ECG analysis function, and according to the clinical actual need, increases information storage and transmission function, query of local records, the function of synchronous LCD display and voice prompt in the defibrillation process. The device uses the defibrillating electrodes to measure body resistance, ECG and so on. We detailedly researched and achieved the discharge module of biphasic defibrillation apparatus based on the damping of two order discharge circuit, and finished the real-time LCD display and voice prompt modules of defibrillation information based on the control of PIC24FJ256DA210 chip.

In the research of artificial joint biomechanics, it is a common method in the world to evaluate the biomechanical properties of the implanted fixtures through experiments . The domestic research started late, and the corresponding testing software were lacking. There is still no special software. In this paper, an integrated software test system was designed and built based on the existing hardware system, including:hardware control, data collection, data save, data processing and display. It can directly show the 3D motion trajectory and the angle curve of joints. The system can accurately measure the relative motion angle value, external torque value, and inter pressure value of each joint. It has some reference significance for the development of the artificial joints' evaluation system.

OBJECTIVE: To develop a heterogeneity analysis method of an antibody-drug conjugate (anti-CD30-vc-MMAE). METHODS: The size and charge heterogeneity of the antibody-drug conjugate (anti CD30-vc-MMAE) was analyzed by SEC-HPLC, CE-SDS, and iCIEF. RESULTS: The main peak purity was (95.69±0.01)% as shown by SEC-HPLC. The total peak purity of the heavy and light chains determined by reduced CE-SDS was (98.38±0.25%)%. At non-reduced CE-SDS level, there were six main peaks, and the total purity of which was (97.82±0.44)%. The acid modification, base modification, and main proportion could be separated effectively by iCIEF, and the peak area percentage of the main peak was (43.52±2.03)%. CONCLUSION: A heterogenecity analysis method of the antibody-drug conjugate (anti-CD30-vc-MMAE) has been preliminarily established and can provide reference for the quality control of this product.

Obiective To realize real-time data processing in lung ventilation reconstruction based on electrical impedance tomography(EIT). Methods The image reconstruction algorithms, plotting functions and matrix calculations are dynamic transferred with Matlab C++, Mathtools and VC++ to meet the requirements of data processing and imaging in real time.Results Image reconstruction and real-time data processing were realized successfully in lung ventilation based on EIT. Conclusion It provides a new strategy for real-time data processing of image reconstruction by EIT.

Objective To develop a monitoring software running on the host computer for the multipoint temperature and humidity monitoring system.Methods The software was developed in VC.NET.Its database was built based on MySQL.The software contains real-time part and history part.Real-time part completes the functions of communication,sample,store and display.History part supplies query and exportation of the historical data.Results The monitoring software stores data completely,and displays the real-time and historical data by curve and number.Besides,it supports 24 points monitoring.Conclusion The software has a lot of virtues such as friendly interface,easy operation,stable running without fault and high cost performance.

Objective To realize foot switch long-distance control of PC for medical image acquisition. Methods The foot switch was connected with PC through RS232 DB9 port, and the software was programmed by Microsoft Visual C++6.0 on Windows 2000 operating system. Results Foot switch control of PC was successfully achieved in acquiring medical images. Conclusion The foot switch has the advantages of long-distance and foot control of PC. It not only saves manpower but ensures the accuracy and real time of images acquired. This method can be applied to image acquisition workstations for medical equipments such as CT apparatus, X-ray apparatus, Ultrasound apparatus, Endoscope apparatus and so on.

Objective To obtain purified myosin-Vc (Myo5c) protein and prepare its polyclonal antibodies of mouse and rabbit. Methods The fragment encoding Myo5c specific protein (297 amino acids) was amplified with RT-PCR from human gastric mucosa. The product and the prokaryotic expression plasmid pQE-31 containing 6?His were used to construct pQE-31/Myo5c. The recombinant was transformed into E. coli JM109 and induced to express with IPTG. The objective product was purified. BALB/c mice and rabbits were immunized with the purified Myo5c protein and the antiserum was obtained. Titer and specificity of the polyclonal antibodies were determined by ELISA and Western blotting. Results pQE-31/Myo5c was successfully constructed. The fusion protein of Myo5c with molecular weight 42 000 was obtained and purified. The recombined protein showed immunogenicity. Mouse or rabbit antiserum with high level of specific antibodies for Myo5c was obtained. Indirect immunostaining and Western blotting analysis demonstrated that the antibodies could recognize native Myo5c protein. Conclusion Our results suggest that the prepared antibodies might be useful in studying the function of Myo5c in intracellular trafficking of endocytic vesicle, such as viruses.

Objective To design a set of long bone and bone-mode auto-matching system which is based on computer image processing technology.Methods Through the analysis on clinical pictures and image data,we got the exact data.Based on these data,the system searched out the bone-mode from the bone-mode database which matched with the skeletal.Results It can find a suitable bone-mode which can match with the bone in a very short time.Conclusion The system improves the efficiency of matching,as well as the success rate.It reduces the surgery time and the suffering of patents.

BACKGROUNDS: An inhibitory effect of magnesium L-ascorbyl-2-phosphate (VC-PMG, a stable derivative of ascorbic acid) on melanogenesis has been described. Furthermore, glabridin in licorice is known to have inhibitory effects on melanogenesis and widely used for raw materials for depigmenting agents. OBJECTIVE: The purposes of this study are to provide objective data by measuring the visual clinical effects of VC-PMG with the colorimeter and to promote the development of de-pigmenting agents. METHODS: 20 volunteers joined the study. With an artificial UVB irradiation, eight tanned areas were made on the inner side of the forearm. During two months, each tanned area was treated with five whitening cosmetics with 3% VC-PMG and increasing concentration of licorice from 0% to 3%. Darkness degree of each area was measured weekly by the colorimeter and the visual assessment. RESULTS: For all cosmetics, whitening effect was measured by colorimeter and visual as-sessment. The cosmetic containing VC-PMG 3% and licorice 1% had more whitening effect than any other cosmetics of different concentrations. Moreover, VC-PMG 3% alone also had whitening effect in some volunteers. CONCLUSION: VC-PMG was clinically found to have whitening effect.

METHOD: A total of 15 patients (17 pregnancies) complicated by kyphoscoliosis were reviewed among 19,717 deliveries between Jan. 1991 and Apr. 2001, from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Seoul National University Hospital. Their prenatal course, mode of deliveries, and pregnancy outcomes were scrutinizingly investigated. RESULTS: The incidence of kyphoscoliosis in this study was one per 1160 deliveries. The mean age of these patients in their pregnancies was 30.6+/-4.4 years (range 23-38), mean height 143.5+/-14.0 cm (range 124-160), and mean weight 55.8+/-14.4 kg (range 38-96). The causes of kyphoscoliosis included idiopathic (n=8), spinal tuberculosis (n=3), external trauma (n=3), poliomyelitis (n=1), spinal muscular atrophy (n=1), and progressive muscular dystrophy (n=1). The mean forced vital capacity (FVC) was 2.098+/-0.774 L (range 0.54-3.59) and mean vital capacity (VC) % predicted was 68.2+/-20.6% (range 24-105) prior to delivery. Vaginal delivery was performed in 4 cases, and cesarean section in 13. Fetal growth restriction was identified in 7 cases, and one case had both fetal heart anomaly and imperforate anus. Two babies were managed in neonatal intensive care unit; preterm birth at 34 weeks in one case, and term birth with low apgar score in the other. Maternal pulmonary complication was developed in two cases, the lowest two values of FVC and VC % predicted, one was FVC 0.86 L, VC % predicted 33% and the other was FVC 0.54L, VC % predicted 24%. These mothers were managed with transnasal oxygen therapy in one, artificial oxygen therapy in the other. CONCLUSION: The maternal and perinatal risks in pregnancy associated with kyphoscoliosis may be dependent on maternal pulmonary function prior to delivery.

Methods The data query from the sql Sever 2000 database made use of ADO technology of VC++6.0 and implemented the print and print preview via append document and view frame in the procedure of the dialog box. Results The data query from Sql Sever 2000 database was implemented and the queried data was printed. Conclusion It offers one printing method in the dialog box procedure.

Objective To develop a set of Immediate communication system of remote medical monitoring based on Internet,which is mainly used on the patient's condition for remote on-line monitoring.Methods The developing platform was Visual C++ 6.0 and the programming language was C++.The development of class libraries MFC(Microsoft Foundation Class) applied by Microsoft was also used.The real-time ECG images could be transmitted unhindered in the system.Results Medical care person could see the real-time ECG in system monitoring terminal from the client so that diagnostic results could be fed back timely to the client.Conclusion The development of community health care system is a positive solution to achieve the goal of universal health care for everybody.Its ultimate goal is to change high-tech medical care into conventional technology.On this basis,the function of hospital can be extended in to family care,thus really enhancing the quality of life

Objective: To establish a method for determination of paracetamol in Vc Yinqiao tablets (Vc, paracetamol, Flos lonicerae, Fructus Forsythies), etc. Methods: Diffuse Relectance FTIR was used to determinate paracetamol in the Vc Yinqiao tablets. Results: The content of paracetamol could be obtained directly, and the relationship between the absorbance and the concentration was linear. The average recovery of paracetamol was 98.40, and RSD was 3.18%. Conclusion: The method is simple, fast and reliable. It has been proved to be a good practice for determination of Vitamin C in the Vc Yinqiao Tablets.
