Este artigo examina a influência da família e dos efeitos das heranças psicossociais na trajetória do sujeito. A psicossociologia ­ e suas interseções com a psicanálise e a sociologia ­ é discutida como referencial teórico-metodológico que possibilita explorar essa problemática. O estudo "Romance Familiar e a Trajetória Social", que se apoia no método de história de vida em grupo, fundamenta a discussão, que é seguida pela análise do relato de uma participante de um grupo intitulado "Mudanças de vida: entre perdas e vínculos", que nos fornece elementos para discutir a transmissão sociopsíquica entre gerações e seus traços nas produções subjetivas do indivíduo (AU).

This article examines the influence of the family and the effects of the psychosocial heritage in the trajectory of the subject. Psycosociology, and its intersections with psychoanalysis and sociology, is discussed as theoreticalmethodological referential that allows us to explore such issue. We will present the device "Family Romances and psychosocial heritage", that utilizes the history of life in groups. We will analyze as furthers as the report of a participant of a group entitled "Life changes: between losses and bonds", which allows us to analyze the socio-psychic transmission among generations and their traits in the subjective productions of the individual (AU).

Este artículo examina la influencia de la familia y los efectos de las herencias psicosociales en la trayectoria de un individuo. La psicosociología, y sus intersecciones con el psicoanálisis y la sociología, es discutida como un marco teórico-metodológico que permite explorar tal problema. Presentamos, entonces, un dispositivo grupal llamado "Romance familiar y trayectoria social" apoyado en el método de historia de vida. Seguimos con un análisis de un participante en un grupo titulado "Cambios en la vida: entre restricciones y vínculos", que nos proporcionan elementos para discutir la transmisión psicológica entre las generaciones y sus rasgos en las producciones subjetivas del individuo (AU).

Pesticides and the perils of synecdoche in the history of science and environmental history.

When the Environmental Protection Agency banned DDT late in 1972, environmentalists hailed the decision. Indeed, the DDT ban became a symbol of the power of environmental activism in America. Since the ban, several species that were decimated by the effects of DDT have significantly recovered, including bald eagles, peregrines, ospreys, and brown pelicans. Yet a careful reading of Rachel Carson's Silent Spring reveals DDT to be but one of hundreds of chemicals in thousands of formulations. Carson called for a reduction in the use of all chemical insecticides. Carson's recommendations notwithstanding, policymakers focused on DDT and other chlorinated hydrocarbons, culminating in the DDT ban, passage of the Federal Environmental Pesticide Control Act of 1972, and subsequent bans on aldrin and dieldrin. Similarly, the history of pesticides has focused inordinately on DDT, providing a myopic image of the ongoing challenges of pesticides in agricultural practice and ongoing environmental protection efforts in the modern world. "Pesticides and the perils of synecdoche" argues that focusing on DDT oversimplified the environmental risks of chemical insecticides and narrowed the parameters of the debate, and in the process both policy and subsequent histories neglected the highly toxic organophosphate insecticides, which dominated agriculture in the United States and the world after the DDT ban, with unintended consequences for farmworkers and wildlife.

New perspectives in the history of twentieth-century life sciences: historical, historiographical and epistemological themes.

The history of twentieth-century life sciences is not exactly a new topic. However, in view of the increasingly rapid development of the life sciences themselves over the past decades, some of the well-established narratives are worth revisiting. Taking stock of where we stand on these issues was the aim of a conference in 2015, entitled "Perspectives for the History of Life Sciences" (Munich, Oct 30-Nov 1, 2015). The papers in this topical collection are based on work presented and discussed at and around this meeting. Just as the conference, the collection aims at exploring fields in the history of life sciences that appear understudied, sources that have been overlooked, and novel ways of engaging with this material. The papers convened in this collection may not be representative of the field as a whole; but we feel that they do indicate some elements that have received emphasis in recent years, and may become more central in the years to come, such as the history of previously neglected contexts and domains of the life sciences, the question of continuity and change on the level of practices, the history of complexity and diversity in twentieth-century life sciences and the reconsideration of the relationship between history and philosophy of life sciences.

A agroindústria da cana no Brasil tem ampliado suas dimensões e seu domínio sobre seu território. Politicamente, tal aumento respalda-se na história que associa a produção da cana-de-açúcar ao desenvolvimento econômico e ao progresso nacional (Godoy, 2004). No presente artigo, interrogamos essa versão oficial a partir da história concreta, fruto da vida dos trabalhadores rurais e das experiências vividas nos canaviais. Trata-se de pesquisa desenvolvida durante o Mestrado em Psicologia da UFMG, que utilizou como instrumento metodológico o recolhimento de história de vida tal como proposto pela sociologia clínica, em diálogo com as abordagens teórico-metodológicas da psicossociologia do trabalho e ergologia. Mediante a narrativa de um trabalhador na lavoura de cana-de-açúcar, divisamos seus impactos no cotidiano dos sujeitos e na comunidade, revelando uma experiência que se constrói por meio do trabalho rural e traz para o centro dos acontecimentos as vidas e os dramas humanos omitidos na história oficial.(AU)

The sugarcane industry has expanded its dimensions and its dominance in Brazil. Politically, this increase backs on a history that connects the production of cane sugar to economic development and national progress (Godoy, 2004). This paper questions this official version from the story and experiences of rural the workers. The research was developed during the Master in Psychology in UFMG. As methodological tool was used the Life History as proposed by clinical sociology in dialogue with the theoretical and methodological approaches of the social-psychology of work and ergology. The narrative of a worker of sugarcane industry could reveal the impacts of sugarcane industry daily life of individuals, community and all the experiences omitted in the official history.(AU)

sAC as a model for understanding the impact of endosymbiosis on cell signaling.

As signaling pathways evolve, selection for new functions guides the co-option of existing material. Major transitions in the history of life, including the evolution of eukaryotes and multicellularity, exemplify this process. These transitions provided both strong selection and a plenitude of available material for the evolution of signaling pathways. Mechanisms that evolved to mediate conflict during the evolution of eukaryotes may subsequently have been co-opted during the many independent derivations of multicellularity. The soluble adenylyl cyclase (sAC) signaling pathway illustrates this hypothesis. Class III adenylyl cyclases, which include sAC, are found in bacteria, including the α-proteobacteria. These adenylyl cyclases are the only ones present in eukaryotes but appear to be absent in archaeans. This pattern suggests that the mitochondrial endosymbiosis brought sAC signaling to eukaryotes as part of an intact module. After transfer to the proto-nuclear genome, this module was then co-opted into numerous new functions. In the evolution of eukaryotes, sAC signaling may have mediated conflicts by maintaining metabolic homeostasis. In the evolution of multicellularity, in different lineages sAC may have been co-opted into parallel tasks originally related to conflict mediation. Elucidating the history of the sAC pathway may be relatively straightforward because it is ubiquitous and linked to near universal metabolic by-products (CO2/HCO(3)(-)). Other signaling pathways (e.g., those involving STAT and VEGF) present a greater challenge but may suggest a complementary pattern. The impact of the mitochondrial endosymbiosis on cell signaling may thus have been profound. The authors exercite reflection about the thought that is contained in the art of writing and establish possible similarities "between" two different fields of knowledge: Orhan Pamuk's literature and Sigmund Freud's psychoanalysis. In this approach, are highlighted: melancholy, alienation and the creation of the novelist that echoes the life drives process.(AU)

Histórias de vida de mulheres e saúde da família: algumas reflexões sobre gênero / Women's histories of life and family health: some considerations about gender

Frente às imbricações de gênero na saúde, este artigo traz a discussão desse conceito no âmbito da Estratégia Saúde da Família, a partir das histórias de vida de duas mulheres usuárias de uma Unidade de Saúde PSF. A construção sócio-histórica de gênero, seu caráter relacional e hierarquizante possibilitaram perceber, ao se olhar para as trajetórias dessas mulheres, que as permanências e transformações de gênero significadas no cotidiano também se reproduzem na esfera da saúde. Assim, ao não abarcar as subjetividades femininas e colocar a mulher num lugar maternal, a saúde a oprime enquanto Sujeito histórico; de modo que na práxis em Saúde da Família, o enfoque de gênero se coloca como indispensável na busca da integralidade.(AU)

Ahead the gender imbrications in health, this article intends to discuss the concept of gender inside the Family Health Strategics Program (PSF) considering the trajectory of life of two women followed up in a PSF Health Unit. Considering the social and historical construction of gender and its hierarchical and relational aspects, we could verify, looking at the life trajectory of those women, that permanencies patterns and gender transformations in their daily lives also appear in the health field. In this manner, when the female subjectivities are not included and only the motherhood is considered, the health field can be an oppressor of the female historical subject. Thus, the Family Health praxis must consider the gender meanings as an essential aspect to understand the whole human subject.(AU)

Investigação do medo no contexto esportivo: necessidades do treinamento psicológico / An investigation of fear in sport contexts: the needs of psychology training / La investigación del miedo en el contexto deportivo: la necesidad del entrenamiento psicologica

Por meio de uma pesquisa qualitativa, utilizando-se a técnica de história de vida e análise de conteúdo temático, este trabalho teve o objetivo de investigar as situações ou acontecimentos que podem desencadear nos atletas o sentimento de medo, como tais indivíduos reconhecem tal sentimento em seus contextos esportivos, e lidam com ele para que o mesmo não prejudique ou interfira na performance esportiva. Participaram deste estudo 10 indivíduos das modalidades mountain bike e canoagem. Nesta pesquisa, evidencia-se que o medo é uma emoção que, constantemente, se faz presente no contexto esportivo, recebendo diferentes representações e interpretações dos atores sociais, assim como a grande diversidade e complexidade dos estados emocionais, na prática esportiva, entendendo-se que, quanto maior sua exigência, quanto maior o nível de desempenho exigido dos atletas, maior a dinâmica destes estados afetivos, e a sua influência na performance dos mesmos.(AU)

By doing a qualitative research, using the technique of life history and analysis of thematic content, this paper's objective was to investigate the situations or events that might bring to life the feeling of fear in athletes, how they know such feeling in the sporting context, and how to deal with it so that it doesn't harm him or interfere in the sporting performance. Ten athletes of mountain bike and canoeing participated of this study. This way, we notice that fear is an emotion that is constantly present in the sporting context, receiving different representations and interpretations from society, as well as the great variety and complexity of the emotional states during sports practice, and it's understood that, the greatest the demand and the level of performance needed by athletes, the greatest are the dynamics of these affective states and their influence on athletes performance.(AU)

Por medio de una búsqueda cualitativa, utilizando-se la técnica de la historia de la vida y analice de contenido temático, este trabajo tuvo el objetivo de investigar las situaciones o los acontecimientos que pueden desencadenar en los atletas la sensación del miedo, como tales individuos reconocen tal sensación en sus contextos deportivos y se ocupan de ella de modo que lo mismo no dañe o pueda intervenir con el funcionamiento deportivo. Diez personas de las modalidades de mountain bike y piragüismo participaran de este estudio. En esta actividad, evidencia-se que el miedo es una emoción que, constantemente, está presente en el contexto deportivo, recibiendo distintas representaciones e interpretaciones de los actores sociales, así como la gran diversidad y complejidad de los estados emocionales, en la práctica deportiva, entendiendo-se que, cuanto mayor su exigencia y el nivel de desempeño exigido de los atletas, mayor será la dinámica de estos estados afectivos y su influencia en lo rendimiento de los deportistas.(AU)

Convertir la vida cotidiana en un proceso extraordinario en beneficio de la sociedad y que incluso ello sea reconocido por los semejantes hace que el hombre común ascienda a la condición de héroe. En nuestras instituciones de salud, encontramos a estas personalidades relevantes y debemos reconocerlas si queremos ganar en una formación en valores. Por ello, hemos tenido el privilegio de examinar la historia de la vida de un Profesor Consultante de Cirugía y Angiología, quien alcanza las cumbres del conocimiento, en la ciencia, la docencia y el trabajo asistencial, con obras que aportan a la especialidad y a la educación popular, y todo ello junto a la constitución de una familia honorable. Se trata del doctor Brunet Pedroso, en activo dentro del Hospital Militar Central Carlos J. Finlay, de Ciuda de La Habana. Su trayectoria es ejemplo y estímulo. Reconocer héroes los hace. Contribuir a este propósito, se encamina el presente trabajo.

To turn the daily life into an extraordinary process in behalf of the society and that even it being recognized by others, causes that the common man ascends to the condition of hero. In our institutions of health we found these kind of excellent personalities and we must recognize them if we want to win in a formation in values. For that reason we have had the privilege to examine the history of life of the Surgery and Angiology Consultant Professor summit of the knowledge, in science, teaching, the welfare work, with papers that contribute to the specialty and the popular education. One is doctor Brunet Pedroso,an active-duty within the Military Hospital Central “Carlos J. Finlay”, of Havana . Its trajectory is example and stimulus. The present work is about recognition of those heroes.

A “História de Vida” nas vozes das mulheres – um recurso metodológico para a escuta de vítimas de violência de gênero / The "History of Life" through women voices - a methodological resource for listening victims of gender violence

Neste trabalho apresentamos um estudo sobre o uso da metodologia de história de vida na escuta das vozes das mulheres em situação de violência de gênero. Esta metodologia agrega conhecimento às questões antes silenciadas, não pesquisadas e não registradas. As pesquisas acerca da violência dão visibilidade política ao tema. Mas não basta a visibilidade política dada à violência, é preciso tratar também das especificidades do sujeito que relata sua história, o sofrimento vivido e encaminhá-lo para um acompanhamento técnico especializado. O uso desta metodologia permite desvendar histórias ocultas das relações de gênero e violência, além de apontar indicativos de questões pessoais que merecem ser, subjetivamente, trabalhadas. (AU)

The paper presents a study about the use of the “history of life” methodology for listening to women submitted to gender violence. This methodology deepens the knowledge about those who have been silenced along history and whose voices have rarely been researched and recorded. Contemporary researches give political visibility to the violence issue. Nevertheless, it is also necessary to approach the specificities brought about by the subjects, men and women, through their narrative in order to refer them to a professional healing. The usage of this methodology allows uncovering hidden histories of gender and violence, side by side to reveal a set of subjective issues that need to be worked during technical attendance. (AU)
