RESUMO

Faced with the current large-scale public health emergency, collecting, sorting, and analyzing biomedical information related to the "coronavirus" should be done as quickly as possible to gain a global perspective, which is a basic requirement for strengthening epidemic control capacity. However, for human researchers studying the viruses and the hosts, the vast amount of information available cannot be processed effectively and in a timely manner, particularly when the scientific understanding may be limited, which can further lower the information processing efficiency. We present TWIRLS, a method that can automatically acquire, organize, and classify information. Additionally, independent functional data sources can be added to build an inference system using a machine-based approach, which can provide relevant knowledge to help human researchers quickly establish subject cognition and to make more effective decisions. TWIRLS can automatically analyze more than three million words in more than 14,000 literature articles in only 4 hours. Combining with generalized gene interaction databases creates a data interface that can help researchers to further analyze the information. Using the TWIRLS system, we found that an important regulatory factor angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) may be involved in the host pathological changes on binding to the coronavirus after infection. After triggering functional changes in ACE2/AT2R, an imbalance in the steady-state cytokine regulatory axis involving the Renin-Angiotensin System and IP-10 leads to a cytokine storm.

RESUMO

Surgical margin principle is one of the central surgical principles for head and neck cancers. Negative surgical margin is the primary purpose of surgery for head and neck cancers. This paper is based on the current clinical application of surgical margins of head and neck cancers, and it is proposed that surgical margins of head and neck cancers may be classified into three types: surface margin, deep margin, and tissue interface margin in consideration of surgical exposure of tumors. The classification of surgical margins can make the clinical application and the research of surgical margins of head and neck cancers more systematic and clear.

RESUMO

Most of the common dizziness/vertigo diseases in otology clinic are peripheral vertigo diseases, and while about 20% -30% of all vertigo diseases are caused by central nervous system diseases. Pseudo vestibular neuritis, acute ischemic stroke with audiovestibular loss, and central paroxysmal positional vertigo are the three types of central "malignant vertigo" diseases which are most easily misdiagnosed by otologists. This article described the clinical characteristics and bedside physical performance of these three diseases, and summarized the differential diagnosis points for clinical reference.

RESUMO

In the paper, a real-time segmentation method that separates the target signal from the navigation image is proposed. In the approaching docking stage, the navigation image is composed of target and non-target signal, which are separately bright spot and space vehicle itself. Since the non-target signals is the main part of the navigation image, the traditional entropy-related criterions and Ostu-related criterions will bring inadequate segmentation, while the mere 2D Fisher criterion will causes over-segmentation, all the methods show their shortages in dealing with this kind of case. To guarantee a precise image segmentation, a revised 2D fuzzy Fisher is proposed in the paper to make a trade-off between positioning target regions and retaining target fuzzy boundaries. First, to reduce redundant computations in finding the threshold pair, a 2D fuzzy Fisher criterion-based integral image is established by way of simplifying the corresponding fuzzy domains. Then, to quicken the convergence, a random orthogonal component is added in its quasi-optimum particle to enhance its local searching capacity in each iteration. Experimental results show its competence of quick segmentation.

RESUMO

Objective To identify the effects of different release paths on public dose in the aftermath of a NPP accident. Methods RASCAL4.3 software was used to simulate the source terms of PWR NPPs and the characteristics of dose distribution in different release path scenarios of long term station blackout (LTSBO) accident. Results It had been shown that radioactivity was the highest in Scenario 2,which was the release path for releases of radionuclides into the environment due to steam generator tube rupture.Radioactivity was the lowest in Scenario 1,which was the release path for radionuclides to be released into the environment in the case of containment leakage or failure.TEDE dose was mainly distributed in the region within 40 km of the release point in different scearios.TEDE dose in the most sectors within 80 km was low than 10 mSv in Scenario 1,which was the release path via containment in containment leakage or failure and in Scenario 3,which was the release path by containment bypass. It was greater than 50 mSv in Scenario 2,which was the release path due to steam generator tube rupture. Conclusions For the environmental impact assessment,it should be paid more attention to the fact that the public health impact imposed by radionuclide release into the environment via the release path due to steam generator tube rupture in the aftermath of LTSBO accident at a NPP.

RESUMO

This research aimed to study the effect of distillage recycling on ethanol fermentation, the key glycolytic enzymes and cell composition of the self-flocculating yeast. With the self-flocculating yeast SPSC01 and medium composed of 220 g/L glucose, 8 g/L yeast extract and 6 g/L peptone, continuous ethanol fermentation was carried out at the dilution rate of 0.04 h(-1) with a 1.5 L tank bioreactor. Fermentation broth was collected every 3 days, and ethanol and other volatile byproducts were removed by distillation, but the stillage with high boiling byproducts was recycled to prepare the medium instead of fresh water. The system was run for 20 days, during which ethanol and biomass concentrations in the effluent decreased continuously, indicating the significant inhibition of the high boiling byproducts accumulated within the system. Thus, the activities of the key enzymes of the glycolytic pathway: hexokinase, 6-phosphofructose kinase, and pyruvate kinase were analyzed, and it was observed that all of them were inhibited. Furthermore, the biosynthesis of the stress response metabolites glycerol and trehalose was investigated, and it was found that glycerol production that can protect yeast cells against osmotic pressure stress was enhanced, but trehalose biosynthesis that can protect yeast cells against ethanol inhibition was not improved, correspondingly. And in the meantime, the biosynthesis of the major intracellular components proteins and hydrocarbons was adjusted, correspondingly.
