Trata-se de um caso clínico, cujo significante mestre é “des-existência”. A paciente obesa que tentou se suicidar ingerindo cem comprimidos. Este ato foi realizado para testar se sua mãe a salvaria. Disse ela à mãe: “Caso você queira, aqui estão as caixas dos remédios que acabei de tomar, você tem 30 minutos para salvar a minha vida”. A partir da emergência deste significante a analisante passa a perceber o equívoco, o paradoxo que vem atuando, ou seja, a desistência era condição de poder existir. Desistiu da beleza, dos dentes, das formas femininas e do trabalho. “Des-existindo” era a única maneira de poder ocupar algum lugar ao lado de sua mãe sem correr riscos de ser aniquilada e devastada(AU)

A partir de um trabalho dos significantes "papa-defunto", "caveirão", "abestalhado", "bobo da corte", "amado", algo mudou em relação à posição subjetiva do analisante, que passou a poder ter acesso ao saber, saindo do lugar de "abestalhado"(AU)
