Background: Private universities in Peru still need to implement digital transformation models to enhance the job performance of faculty and staff, achieving consistent improvement in the performance levels of university teachers by deploying technological and didactic tools for students. Therefore, the study aims to determine the relationship between digital transformation and the job performance of employees at a Private University. Methods: The research approach was quantitative, employing a non-experimental, longitudinal correlational design. The technique used was a survey, applied to a sample of 104 employees (school heads, faculty, and a director) from the university on a national level from a total population of 144. Results: Descriptive results reveal that the university has regularly adopted tools related to digital transformation. In particular, it has efficiently employed agile technologies, Big Data, and various technological means, benefiting 90% (52% and 38%) of the staff. The study also showed a high positive correlation (0.92>0.7) between digital transformation and the job performance of staff at the Private University, confirming that there is a significant connection between the variables studied. Conclusions: Therefore, creating an innovative culture across all hierarchical levels and identifying key technologies that add value to the learning flow can meet the needs of an increasingly demanding society.

OBJECTIVES: to correlate the development of Burnout Syndrome in higher education professors with the following variables: sociodemographic, economic, work, sleep pattern, level of anxiety and quality of life. METHODS: observational, analytical, cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach. Data collection took place from August to November 2022, with 140 professors from a private higher education institution in the Western Brazilian Amazon. RESULTS: professors who carried out activities outside institutional hours and who had sleep duration < 5 hours, presented lower scores in the personal fulfillment dimension of burnout, with (p=0.002) and (p=0.001), respectively. The higher the scores for the physical (p=0.001), psychological (p=0.000) and social relationships (p=0.002) domains of quality of life, the lower the personal fulfillment scores for the syndrome. CONCLUSIONS: through linear regression, it was evidenced that several variables explain the development of burnout. Institutional and governmental actions can minimize the negative influence of these variables.

BACKGROUND: The growing discussion on teacher development focuses on diversified educational skills that promote knowledge and innovation in the teaching, learning and assessment process. With the Covid-19 scenario, this picture of necessary changes has become more evident, demonstrating the need for professional preparation to work in teacher development. The aim of the study was to analyze the effectiveness of teacher development programs for the training of university teachers in the health area, through a systematic review and meta-analysis. METHODS: The systematic review and meta-analysis were carried out according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines and involved searching five databases - PubMed-Medline, Education Resource Information Center (ERIC), SCOPUS, Embase and Web of Science. The review included randomized clinical trials and cohort studies that addressed the effectiveness of teaching professionalization in the health area for university professors. The quality of the selected studies was assessed based on the evaluation criteria of the Joanna Briggs Institute tool. The random effects meta-analysis method was used to explain the distribution of effects between the studies, using Stata® software (version 11.0) and publication bias was examined by visual inspection of the graphs and Egger's test. RESULTS: We included 12 studies in the systematic review and 8 in the meta-analysis. These studies were published between 1984 and 2022 in 14 countries. Significant changes were reported in teachers' behavior to stimulate and encourage students, improvement in the quality of teaching and teaching staff, as well as improvement in skills such as leadership and self-evaluation. Furthermore, the result of the meta-analysis showed that there is evidence of the effectiveness of the positive effects of teacher development programs after their implementation, with this effect being 1.70% and an increase of 4.75 in the effect of these teacher development programs. CONCLUSION: Our study shows that development programs have been implemented in different countries and contexts, all of which have proven to be effective in the short, medium and long term. We recommend that future research focus specifically on the different competencies that have been acquired following the implementation of these programs.

This essay explores the convergences and singularities of popular education and Food and Nutrition Education based on biographical fragments of the undergraduate training program in Nutrition of three university professors who established their academic and professional trajectories at these crossroads of knowledge and actions mediated by popular education. Inspired by the autobiographical method, the narratives revealed that the initial indignations with social inequalities were mobilizing the routes in the formative path toward understanding hunger, suffering, and human care. To this end, seeking spaces and opportunities to learn about and experience social work in contexts of vulnerabilities was a decisive factor in their personal and professional constructions, revealing the contradictions of traditional training models and the starting point for the genesis of critical thinking. Thus, clues are offered to understand the interfaces of Popular Education (PE) and Food and Nutrition Education (FNE) in the converging actions around the fight against hunger and the right to food without, however, reducing one to the other when food and Nutrition are projected on the horizon of practices.
Este ensaio explora as convergências e singularidades do diálogo entre a educação popular (EP) e a educação alimentar e nutricional (EAN) a partir de fragmentos biográficos do percurso formativo da graduação em Nutrição de três docentes universitários que constituíram as suas trajetórias acadêmico-profissional mediados pela Educação Popular. Inspirando-se na autobiografia, as narrativas revelaram que as indignações iniciais com as desigualdades sociais foram mobilizadoras do percurso formativo, possibilitando a compreensão dos fenômenos da fome, do sofrimento e do cuidado humano. Assim, o exercício de buscarem espaços e oportunidades na qual pudessem conhecer e experienciar o trabalho social em contextos de vulnerabilidades mostrou-se decisivo nas construções pessoais e profissionais, revelando as contradições dos modelos tradicionais de formação e foram o ponto de partida para a gênese do pensamento crítico. Assim, pretende-se oferecer pistas para compreender as interfaces entre EP e EAN, na convergência de ações em torno da luta contra a fome e pelo Direito à Alimentação, sem, entretanto, reduzir-se uma à outra, quando a alimentação e nutrição se projetam no horizonte das práticas.

La evaluación ha dejado de ser una instancia que sólo certifica el logro alcanzado a través de una calificación, sino actualmente se entiende como un elemento fundamental para favorecer los procesos de enseñanza-aprendizaje. El objetivo del presente estudio fue "Conocer las concepciones y prácticas evaluativas del alumnado y profesorado de la FIPEF (Formación Inicial del Profesorado en Educación Física) de dos campus universitarios de la zona sur austral de Chile". Para ello, se contó con una muestra de 219 alumnos y alumnas (edad M = 21.6 y dt. = 2.8) de dos campus universitarios que cursaban Formación Inicial del Profesorado en Educación Física (FIPEF) y 21 profesores y profesoras (edad M = 50.3 y dt. = 13.2). Se aplicó el "Cuestionario para el estudio del sistema de evaluación en la formación inicial del profesorado de educación física" de forma virtual, sometiendo los resultados a pruebas estadísticas como la media, desviación típica y pruebas inferenciales. Los principales resultados dejan ver la presencia de metodologías e instrumentos tradicionales de evaluación, así como, una apreciación diferenciada entre alumnado vs. profesorado. Sin embargo, se puede constatar la presencia de intencionalidad formativa en las acciones implementadas por el profesorado.
The evaluation has ceased to be a mere instance that only certifies the achievement through a grade; rather, it is currently understood as a fundamental element to promote teaching and learning processes. The objective of the present study was to "Understand the conceptions and evaluative practices of students and faculty in the FIPEF (Initial Teacher Education in Physical Education) of two university campuses in the southernmost region of Chile." For this purpose, a sample of 219 students (age M = 21.6 and SD = 2.8) from two university campuses undergoing Initial Teacher Education in Physical Education (FIPEF) and 21 teachers (age M = 50.3 and SD = 13.2) was used. The "Questionnaire for the study of the evaluation system in the initial teacher education of physical education" was administered in a virtual manner, subjecting the results to statistical tests such as mean, standard deviation, and inferential tests. The main results reveal the presence of traditional evaluation methodologies and instruments, as well as a differentiated perception between students and faculty. However, there is evidence of formative intent in the actions implemented by the faculty.
A avaliação deixou de ser apenas uma instância que certifica a conquista por meio de uma nota; atualmente, é compreendida como um elemento fundamental para promover os processos de ensino e aprendizagem. O objetivo do presente estudo foi "Compreender as concepções e práticas avaliativas dos estudantes e professores da FIPEF (Formação Inicial de Professores de Educação Física) de dois campi universitários na região sul-austral do Chile." Para isso, contamos com uma amostra de 219 alunos (idade M = 21,6 e dp. = 2,8) de dois campi universitários que cursavam a Formação Inicial de Professores de Educação Física (FIPEF) e 21 professores (idade M = 50,3 e dp. = 13,2). Foi aplicado o "Questionário para o estudo do sistema de avaliação na formação inicial de professores de educação física" de forma virtual, sujeitando os resultados a testes estatísticos como média, desvio padrão e testes inferenciais. El síndrome del Burnout es un estado de agotamiento físico y emocional que implica una pérdida del interés en el trabajo, actitudes negativas hacia los demás, y baja autoestima. Las habilidades emocionales se definen como capacidades para conocer y dominar emociones propias y de otros/as. El objetivo de la presente investigación fue analizar la relación entre los niveles de habilidades emocionales y síndrome de Burnout en docentes universitarios de escuelas de Educación Física. Se evaluaron a 31 docentes universitarios de dos universidades de Santiago de Chile. Se aplicó la Escala de rasgo de metaconocimiento emocional validada en estudiantes de Educación Física de Chile y el inventario de Burnout de Maslach (MBI). Los resultados revelan una relación baja y negativa entre los puntajes de despersonalización y reparación emocional en la muestra. El sexo del docente, los años de docencia universitaria, tener cargos directivos o estar en tratamiento psicológico o farmacológico no influyen en los niveles de estrés laboral y habilidades emocionales. Se recomienda replicar esta investigación con muestras de docentes universitarios de escuelas de Educación Física en otras universidades, además del control de otras variables como ansiedad, depresión, motivación, etc.
Burnout syndrome is a state of physical and emotional exhaustion that involves a loss of interest in work, negative attitudes towards others, and low self-esteem. Emotional skills are defined as the ability to recognize and manage one's own emotions and the emotions of others. The aim of the present research was to analyze the relationship between levels of emotional skills and Burnout syndrome in university professors from Physical Education schools. A total of 31 university professors from two universities in Santiago, Chile, were evaluated. The Trait Meta-Mood Scale, validated in Physical Education students in Chile, and the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) were employed. The results reveal a low and negative relationship between depersonalization and emotional repair scores in the sample. The professor's gender, years of university teaching experience, holding managerial positions, or undergoing psychological or pharmacological treatment do not influence levels of occupational stress and emotional skills. It is recommended to replicate this research with samples of university professors from Physical Education schools in other universities, controlling other variables such as anxiety, depression, motivation, etc.

BACKGROUND: In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, educational institutions had to swiftly adapt and transition to remote teaching in order to maintain academic activities. However, these changes presented a number of challenges for professors, which could have negative effects on their health. OBJECTIVE: To analyze the association between changes in dietary and sleep habits, physical activity level, and sedentary behavior with the development of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) among Brazilian higher education professors during the pandemic period. METHODS: This is a cross-sectional and retrospective study conducted using an online form. Generalized linear models, adjusted for age, sex, and body mass index, were used to verify the difference between pre-pandemic and pandemic periods. Logistic regression models were used to predict the odds ratio (OR) for the development of NCDs according to physical activity time, sedentary behavior time, dietary and sleep patterns. RESULTS: A total of 936 professors residing across Brazil participated in the survey. The duration of sedentary behavior increased, sleep duration slightly decreased, and meal times shifted to earlier during the pandemic. A total of 22.9%of the participants reported the diagnosis of some NCDs during this period. Physical activity practice was associated with a lower risk of diseases during the pandemic, regardless of the intensity performed. On the other hand, late eating habits and excessive food consumption during the pandemic were associated with a higher risk. CONCLUSION: The results provide data that can help in the development of public policies that promote health actions to minimize the consequences associated with the pandemic period.

Background: Due to the accumulation of information generated by the information society, it is necessary to establish scientific criteria for its systematization. The objective of the research was to understand the implicit theories on the use of bibliographic managers in the organization of scientific information in university teachers in Latin American university teachers (Colombia, Ecuador and Peru). Methods: The interpretative paradigm, phenomenological method and qualitative approach were used. The key informants were defined by fifteen teachers with research experience. The technique was the semi-structured interview, and the instrument was the interview script. The study was based on four cyclical-recursive moments, the first was the natural attitude, where information was obtained from the key informants as a result of the interviews. The second moment allowed the epoche-eidetic reduction, consisting of the analysis of each interview. The third moment originated the transcendental epoche-reduction, analyzing each attribute and their consistency. The fourth moment revealed the constitution of the study, integrating in a semantic network the categories, subcategories, and attributes that emerged. Results: Even when it is recognized from the cognitive conception about the concept of bibliographic managers, its applicability or use, it seems not to be so effective in scientific academic spaces and activities, because teachers are still anchored to the traditionalist vision of organizing information through "drive, folder or excel", reflecting the resistance to change. Conclusions: The imperative need for continuous training in the use of bibliographic managers in both students and teachers is asserted, reflected as a transversal strategy throughout all academic cycles and semesters and internalized as a research policy that leads to generate a new change in the conception of researching reliable scientific sources, optimizing time, organizing information and guaranteeing quality research.

INTRODUCCIÓN. El pilar fundamental en el docente universitario en el campo de las Ciencias de la Salud, es la modestia intelectual, su vocación, innovación, empatía, organización y actualización constante, resumidas en el saber, saber hacer y saber ser, las cuales permitirán transmitir conocimientos y habilidades relevantes de manera integral y funcional al conglomerado estudiantil, con la misión de unificar la docencia investigación vinculación con la sociedad. OBJETIVO. Caracterizar las competencias básicas y específicas del docente universitario en el campo de las Ciencias de la Salud. JUSTIFICACIÓN. Elaborar un perfil modelo de competencias para incrementar la calidad docente en las Instituciones de Educación Superior, priorizar y solventar las necesidades de la sociedad en la actualidad. METODOLOGÍA. Estudio de revisión bibliográfica de 21 manuscritos seleccionados de Google académico, PubMed y LILACS Regional, cuyas fechas de publicación corresponden al año 2011 2023, con excepción de un documento del año 1994 por la importancia sobre la articulación en la formación del personal de salud. El criterio de búsqueda consistió en el empleo de frases clave como "Educación Basada en Competencias", "Personal Docente", "Ciencias de la Salud", "Educación Basada en Competencias", "Educación Médica", "Universidades". RESULTADOS. El docente universitario en el campo de las Ciencias de la Salud debe contar con un perfil de competencias básicas (comunicativas, tecnológicas, sociales, cognitivas, personales), competencias específicas (planificación, organización, didáctica, evaluación, reflexión), que permita un desempeño óptimo, con la misión de cumplir con los indicadores de calidad de las Instituciones de Educación Superior y trascender en el proceso enseñanza aprendizaje. CONCLUSIÓN. Las competencias básicas y específicas del docente universitario en el campo de las Ciencias de la Salud se sustentan y resumen en el saber, saber hacer y saber ser, es transversal la aplicación de la competencia de modestia intelectual y el valor de la empatía que mantienen el espíritu de crecimiento sostenido en la búsqueda del conocimiento y excelencia académica para la docencia en las Ciencias de la Salud priorizando la calidad del proceso de enseñanza aprendizaje.
INTRODUCTION. The fundamental pillar in the university teacher in the field of Health Sciences is intellectual humility, his vocation, innovation, empathy, organization and constant updating, summarized in knowledge, knowing how to do and knowing how to be, which will allow the transmission of knowledge and skills relevant in a comprehensive and functional way to the student group, with the mission of unifying teaching research connection with society. AIM. Characterize the basic and specific competencies of the university teacher in the field of Health Sciences. JUSTIFICATION. Develop a model profile of competencies to increase teaching quality in Higher Education Institutions, prioritize and solve the needs of society today. METHODOLOGY. Bibliographic review study of 21 manuscripts selected from Google Scholar, PubMed and LILACS Regional, whose publication dates correspond to the year 2011 2023, with the exception of a document from 1994 due to the importance of articulation in the training of health personnel. The search criteria consisted of the use of key phrases such as "Competency-Based Education", "Educational Personnel", "Health Sciences", "Competency-Based Education", "Education, Medical", "Universities". RESULTS. University teachers in the field of Health Sciences must have a profile of basic competencies (communicative, technological, social, cognitive, personal), specific competencies (planning, organization, didactics, evaluation, reflection), that allow performance optimal, with the mission of complying with the quality indicators of Higher Education Institutions and transcending the teaching-learning process. CONCLUSION. The basic and specific competencies of the university teacher in the field of Health Sciences are based on and summarized in knowledge, knowing how to do and knowing how to be; the application of the competence of intellectual humility and the value of empathy that maintain the spirit of sustained growth in the search for knowledge and academic excellence for teaching in the Health Sciences, prioritizing the quality of the teaching-learning process.

This article describes the organization, operation, and contents of the Virtual Historical Archive of the Faculty of Psychology, University of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The organization of this archive started in 2008, as part of the activities planned by the Chair II of History of Psychology, and gained the support of the Faculty of Psychology. From its beginnings to the present, several documentary sources and materials related to the history of psychology in Argentina have been incorporated. It currently contains six thematic sections and three special collections, and it is expected that in the future it will be extended to other thematic areas. Esta pesquisa tem por objetivo analisar as atitudes dos professores em relação às pessoas com deficiência nas aulas de Educação Física. Participaram da pesquisa 46 professores de Educação Física, de ambos os sexos, com idade entre 26 e 54 anos, sendo utilizado um questionário de 12 questões. Os resultados mostraram que a maioria dos professores respondeu de forma otimista quanto à habilidade de lidar com os alunos com deficiência. Além disso, a maioria concorda que a interação dos alunos é benéfica para todos. Conclui-se que os participantes acreditam que a interação dos alunos com deficiência seja benéfica para o desenvolvimento dos mesmos e dos demais. Além disso, os pro-fessores demonstraram interesse em buscar conhecimentos para trabalhar com a diversidade (AU).
This research aimed to analyze the attitudes of teachers towards people with disabilities in Physical Education classes. Forty-six Physical Education teachers of both sexes, 26 - 54 years of age, participated in the study by responding to a 12-question questionnaire. The results show that most teachers responded with optimism about the ability to deal with students with disabilities. It is concluded that the participants believe that interaction with students with disabilities is beneficial for their development and that of others. In addition, teachers showed interest in seeking knowledge to work with diversity (AU).
Esta investigación tiene como objetivo analizar las actitudes de los profesores hacia las personas con discapacidad en las clases de Educación Física. Participaron de la investigación 46 profesores de Educación Física, de ambos sexos, con edades entre 26 y 54 años, utilizando un cuestionario de 12 preguntas. Los resultados mostraron que la mayoría de los docentes respondieron con optimismo con respecto a su capacidad para tratar con estudiantes con discapacidades. Además, la mayoría está de acuerdo en que la interacción de los estudiantes trae beneficios para todos. Se concluye que los participantes creen que la interacción de los estudiantes con discapacidad es beneficiosa para su desarrollo y el de los demás. Además, los docentes (AU).

O objetivo da pesquisa foi analisar a inclusão dos discentes surdos na Universidade Federal de Rondônia, na perspectiva dos tradutores/intérpretes de Libras. A pesquisa caracterizou-se como observacional, de natureza qualitativa e com recorte transversal. Participaram oito tradutores/intérpretes de Libras. Os dados foram coletados por meio de questionário eletrônico do Google Forms. Os resultados revelaram que a falta de preparo/qualificação dos docentes e servidores para atuar com esse público é apontada como uma importante barreira, sendo a comunicação o pior problema. Atividades práticas são mais bem acompanhadas e as atividades teóricas revelam-se desafiadoras, especialmente por conta da tradução/interpretação de determinados termos específicos de cada área (AU).
This research aimed to analyze the inclusion of deaf stu-dents at the Federal University of Rondônia, from the perspective of Libras translators/interpreters. The research was characterized as observational, qualitative, and with a cross-sectional approach. Eight Libras translators/interpreters participated. Data were col-lected using an electronic Google Forms questionnaire. The results revealed that the lack of preparation/qualification of teachers and employees to work with this public is an important barrier, with communication being the worst problem. Practical activities are better monitored, and theoretical activities are challenging, espe-cially due to the translation/interpretation of certain terms specific to each area (AU).
El objetivo de esta investigación fue analizar la inclusión de estudiantes sordos en la Universidad Federal de Rondônia, desde la perspectiva de los traductores/intérpretes de Libras. La investigación se caracterizó por ser de carácter observacional, cualitativa y con enfoque transversal. Participaron ocho traductores/intérpretes Libras. Los datos se recopilaron mediante un cuestionario electrónico de Google Forms. Los resultados revelaron que la falta de preparación/calificación de docentes y empleados para trabajar con este público se identifica como una barrera importante, siendo la comunicación el peor problema. Las actividades prácticas están mejor supervisadas y las actividades teóricas resultan desafiantes, especialmente debido a la traducción/interpretación de ciertos términos específicos de cada área (AU).

La Dra. Raquel Pérez González, más conocida entre colegas, alumnos y compañeros de trabajo por "la profe Raquel", obtuvo el título de Medicina en el año 1976. Comenzó por vía directa la residencia de Radiología y obtuvo el título de especialista de primer grado en 1979. Se convirtió así, el Hospital Militar Central "Dr. Carlos J. Finlay", en la cuna de su formación profesional y en años posteriores, en la casa que la vio crecer, especialmente como maestra de numerosas generaciones de radiólogos e imagenólogos. Hoy reposan en el jardín del Departamento de Imagenología, parte de sus cenizas, custodiadas por el amor que fue capaz de cultivar. En el 2016, una paciente femenina de 60 años de edad, acudió a la consulta de gastroenterología, con dolor abdominal difuso. La radiografía de abdomen simple, anteroposterior, en posición acostado mostró, una imagen en "muela de cangrejo", visible al tomar el aire dentro del hemicolon transverso izquierdo, como contraste, el cual bordea por ese lado parcialmente, una opacidad de partes blandas, que se extiende desde el mesogastrio, hasta la fosa ilíaca derecha, donde se observa el signo del menisco. Los estudios de imágenes realizados, evidenciaron signos radiológicos típicos de invaginación por causa tumoral maligna. En varias ocasiones, la profesora Raquel utilizó la imagen de este caso, como pregunta en exámenes de promoción de residentes. La publicación de este caso constituye un homenaje a quien será siempre un paradigma de docente.
Dr. Raquel Pérez González, better known among colleagues, students and co-workers as "professor Raquel", obtained her degree in Medicine in 1976. She began her Radiology residency directly and obtained the title of first-class specialist degree in 1979. Thus, the Central Military Hospital "Dr. Carlos J. Finlay" is the cradle of her professional training and in later years, in her home where she saw her grow up, especially as a teacher to numerous generations of radiologists and imaging scientists. Today, part of her ashes rest in the garden of the Imaging Department, guarded by the love that she was able to cultivate. In 2016, a 60-year-old female patient attended the gastroenterology clinic with diffuse abdominal pain. The simple, anteroposterior abdominal x-ray, in the lying position, showed a "crab claw" image, visible when breathing into the left transverse hemicolon, as contrast, which partially borders on that side, a soft tissue opacity, which extends from the mesogastrium to the right iliac fossa, where the meniscus sign is observed. The imaging studies performed showed typical radiological signs of invagination due to malignant tumor. On several occasions, Professor Raquel used the image of this case as a question in resident promotion exams. The publication of this case constitutes a tribute to someone who will always be a paradigm of a teacher.

La formación académica sustenta las bases para el desempeño investigativo del egresado. No obstante, en el camino entre la proyección del pregrado y el rediseño del posgrado de los planes de estudio, persisten dificultades en el proceso investigativo. Se propone considerar la utilidad del vínculo asistencia-docencia-investigación, sustentado en la presencia de esta última en cada momento y espacio de la vida del profesional, en función de transformar su entorno y con ello, su desarrollo intelectual, según criterios y experiencia de los autores. Es reconocida, la importante y decisiva integración docente-asistencial-investigativa, elemento característico de las formas organizativas de la educación médica cubana. No es posible llevar a cabo una investigación de calidad, sin una práctica médica de excelencia La investigación clínica mejora la calidad de los médicos y debe fomentarse como actividad esencial. Se deben identificar las necesidades de aprendizaje, y entre ellas estar contenidos los problemas investigativos, en torno a los cuales se erigen las investigaciones científicas. Para un profesional, no es posible que se separen las 3 vertientes interrelacionadas: la asistencia, la docencia y la investigación. Por lo tanto, de su trabajo diario, justamente emerge la ciencia. La formación de recursos humanos en Cuba, en el contexto actual, es transformadora, revolucionaria y a favor del bienestar de la sociedad. El vínculo asistencia-docencia-investigación debe concebirse como un sistema articulado e integral presente en cada momento de actuación del sistema de salud que debe ser aprovechado por los profesionales, los directivos, en función de transformar su entorno, calidad y pertinencia(AU)
Academic training supports the bases for the graduate's research performance. However, on the path between the undergraduate projection and the postgraduate redesign of the study plans, difficulties persist in the research process. It is proposed to consider the usefulness of the assistance-teaching-research link, supported by the presence of the latter in every moment and space of the professional's life, in terms of transforming their environment and with it, their intellectual development, according to criteria and experience of the authors. The important and decisive integration of teaching-care-research is recognized, a characteristic element of the organizational forms of Cuban medical education. It is not possible to carry out quality research without excellent medical practice. Clinical research improves the quality of doctors and should be promoted as an essential activity. Learning needs must be identified, and among them the research problems, around which scientific research is built, must be contained. For a professional, it is not possible to separate the 3 interrelated aspects: assistance, teaching and research. Therefore, science emerges from daily work. The training of human resources in Cuba, in the current context, is transformative, revolutionary and in favor of the well-being of society. The care-teaching-research link must be conceived as an articulated and integral system present at every moment of action of the health system that must be taken advantage of by professionals, managers, in order to transform its environment, quality and relevance(AU)

Objective: To determine the epidemiological profile of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in a teaching unit. Method: In this observational, cross-sectional, and descriptive study, data from the medical records of consultations conducted between February 2020 and May 2022 at an endocrinology outpatient clinic in a teaching unit in Northeast Brazil were evaluated. A descriptive analysis of the data was performed, with percentage values, medians, and interquartile ranges (IQRs) reported. Result: Data were collected from the medical records of 118 patients, and the medical records of 95 patients were used for statistical analysis after the exclusion of records with insufficient data. Seventy patients (73.6%) were female, with a median age of 57 years (IQR 51.5-65), a median body mass index (BMI) of 28.9 kg/m2 (IQR 25.7-33.1) and a median age at diagnosis of 47.5 years (IQR 38-55). The median glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) and fasting blood glucose levels during follow-up were 7.6% (IQR 6.6-9.7) and 132.8 mg/dL (IQR 113.5-201.7), respectively, and only 36.8% (n=35) of patients were within their HbA1C therapeutic target range. Approximately 73.6% (n=70) of the patients used statins, but only 18 (18.9%) had LDL-c within their therapeutic target range. Twenty-seven patients (28.4%) had kidney dysfunction, either albuminuria or a glomerular filtration rate (GFR) reduction, and 6 of them (22.2%) did not use any nephroprotective medication. Fewer than half of the patients underwent fundoscopy, and 32.5% of them showed some degree of retinopathy. Neuropathy was present in 33 patients (34.7%), with 3 patients (3.16%) presenting with amputations. Conclusion: Adequate glycemic control was achieved in just under half of the patients, and a relevant proportion of patients experienced microvascular complications. Strategies for the early detection of complications and more aggressive treatment of the disease and its comorbidities are necessary
Objetivo: Traçar o perfil epidemiológico de pacientes com Diabetes Tipo 2 de uma unidade docente-assistencial. Método: Estudo observacional, transversal e descritivo com dados de prontuário de consultas realizadas entre fevereiro de 2020 e maio de 2022 no ambulatório de endocrinologia de uma unidade docente-assistencial no nordeste brasileiro. Procedeu-se à análise descritiva dos dados, sendo informados os valores percentuais, mediana e intervalo interquartil. Resultado: De um total de 118 prontuários, foram analisados 95 pacientes após a exclusão daqueles com dados insuficientes. Destes, 73,6% (n=70) são do sexo feminino, com idade mediana de 57 anos (IIQ 51,5-65), mediana do IMC 28,9kg/m2 (IIQ 25,7-33,1) e idade ao diagnóstico de 47,5 anos (IIQ 38-55). As medianas da última HbA1C e glicemia em jejum foram 7,6% (IIQ 6,6-9,7) e 132,8 mg/dL (IIQ 113,5- 201,7), e apenas 36,8% (n=35) foram classificados como dentro da meta pela HbA1C. Cerca de 73,6% (n=70) dos pacientes utilizavam estatinas, mas somente 18 (18,9%) tinham LDL-c dentro da meta terapêutica. Vinte e sete pacientes (28,4%) apresentavam disfunção renal, seja albuminúria e/ou redução da TFG, e 6 (22,2%) não usavam nenhuma medicação nefroprotetora. Menos da metade dos pacientes realizou fundoscopia, e, destes, 32,5% apresentavam algum grau de retinopatia. Neuropatia está presente em 33 pacientes (34,7%), com 3 pacientes (3,16%) apresentando amputações. Conclusão: O controle glicêmico adequado foi obtido em pouco menos da metade dos pacientes e uma proporção relevante apresenta complicações microvasculares. Estratégias de detecção precoce de complicações e de tratamento mais agressivo da doença e suas comorbidades são necessárias

Introducción: este artículo se enfoca en la experiencia de un Instituto Universitario de gestión privada de la ciudad de Buenos Aires al abordar la inteligencia artificial (IA) en educación. El objetivo es compartir líneas de acción y resultados para promover la reflexión y apropiación crítica de esta tecnología en la comunidad educativa. Desarrollo: se presenta un relato de experiencia referido al diseño de cuatro líneas de acción para abordar el uso de aplicaciones de IA generativa (IAGen) en la educación superior en ciencias de la salud: elaboración de un estado de la cuestión; indagación de conocimientos en la comunidad educativa; capacitaciones para actores institucionales clave; producción de materiales guía. Resultados: se observa un creciente interés en la IAGen en la comunidad educativa. Se registran experiencias positivas con aplicaciones de IAGen, encontrándolas intuitivas y útiles para la investigación y la enseñanza. Sin embargo, se destacan desafíos, como la falta de conocimiento sobre cómo usar estas herramientas de manera eficaz. La formación ha sido clave para abordar estos desafíos y se ha llevado a cabo para integrantes del equipo del Departamento de Educación, autoridades y docentes. Conclusión: la IAGen está atravesando integralmente la educación superior en el campo de las ciencias de la salud. Las instituciones universitarias tienen la responsabilidad de promover el desarrollo de competencias digitales y criterios de uso responsables. A medida que la IAGen continúa desarrollándose, es esencial abordar nuevos desafíos y regulaciones, promoviendo la reflexión y la formación continua en la comunidad educativa. El trabajo interdisciplinario y la colaboración entre diversas áreas de gestión institucional son fundamentales para abordar estos cambios tecnológicos en la educación. (AU)
Introduction:This article focuses on the experience of a privately managed University Institute in Buenos Aires city when addressing artificial intelligence (AI) in education. The aim is to share strategies and outcomes to encourage reflection and critical engagement with this technology within the educational community. Development: We present a narrative of experience concerning the design of four lines of action to address the uses of generative AI applications (GenAI) in higher education in health sciences: drafting a state-of-the-art report; probing knowledge within the educational community; training sessions for core institutional actors; production of guide materials. Results: There is a growing interest in GenAI within the educational community. We register positive experiences with IAGen applications, finding them intuitive and useful for research and teaching. However, we highlight challenges, such as gaps in knowledge on how to use these tools most effectively. Training has been crucial in addressing these challenges and has been conducted for members of the Education Department team, authorities, and teachers. Conclusion: GenAI is fundamentally permeating higher education in the field of health sciences. University institutions are responsible for promoting the development of digital competencies and standards of responsible use. As GenAI continues to evolve, addressing new challenges and regulations is essential, encouraging reflection and ongoing training within the educational community. Interdisciplinary work and collaboration among various areas of institutional management are critical to address these technological changes in education. (AU)

Compreender o papel do enfermeiro educador no desenvolvimento da liderança. Método: Trata-se de um relato de experiência, realizado com cinco grupos de enfermeiros com a temática de acordo com as suas especializações: pediatria, gestão, cuidados paliativos, centro cirúrgico e geriatria no Hospital Cruz Azul de São Paulo, no período de 2021 até 2023. Resultados: Notou-se progresso nos pontos elencados a partir do plano estratégico anteriormente desenvolvido nos setores de gestão, cuidados paliativos e clínica cirúrgica. Na perspectiva de autonomia e participação, o enfermeiro docente é peça chave na promoção de mudanças no ensino, como também, deve ser responsável pela criação de medidas para fomentar o pensamento crítico e criativo de sua equipe. Conclusão: A inserção de práticas pedagógicas bem como a aproximação dos indivíduos em desenvolvimento de liderança à equipe multidisciplinar são estratégias metodológicas exitosas na formação de enfermeiros-líderes.(AU)
To understand the role of nurse educator in the development of leadership. Method: This is an experience report, conducted with five groups of nurses with the theme according to their specializations: pediatrics, management, palliative care, surgical center and geriatrics at the Cruz Azul Hospital of São Paulo, from 2021 to 2023. Results: Progress was noted in the points listed from the strategic plan previously developed in the management, palliative care and surgical sectors. From the perspective of autonomy and participation, the teaching nurse is a key player in promoting changes in teaching, as well as being responsible for creating measures to foster critical and creative thinking of his team. Conclusion: The insertion of pedagogical practices as well as the approach of individuals in leadership development to the multidisciplinar team are successful methodological strategies in training nurses-leaders.(AU)

Objetivo: analisar o nível de estresse e qualidade de vida em docentes universitários segundo a literatura científica. Método:foi realizada uma revisão bibliográfica cujos dados foram coletados no período compreendido entre fevereiro de 2023 e março de 2023, utilizando-se como fontes a biblioteca eletrônica Scientific Eletronic Library Online (SciELO) e as bases de dados Literatura Latino Americana e do Caribe em Ciências Sociais e da Saúde (LILACS), Bases de Dados em Enfermagem (BDENF) e PubMed. Resultados:Entre os fatores estressores, destacam-se a alta carga de trabalho, a falta de reconhecimento, a pressão por publicações e as relações interpessoais no ambiente de trabalho. Esses fatores podem afetar negativamente a saúde física e psicológica dos docentes, bem como sua vida pessoal, comprometendo seu bem-estar e sua satisfação profissional. Por outro lado, a revisão bibliográfica também apontou programas de intervenção que visam reduzir o estresse e promover a qualidade de vida dos docentes universitários, baseados em estratégias de prevenção, coping e apoio social. Conclusão:é fundamental compreender a relação entre estresse e qualidade de vida em docentes universitários, bem como desenvolver estratégias que possam minimizar o impacto do estresse e melhorar o bem-estar desses profissionais
Objective: to analyze the level of stress and quality of life in university professors according to the scientific literature. On the other hand, the literature review also pointed out intervention programs that aim to reduce stress and promote the quality of life of university professors, based on strategies of prevention, coping and social support. La epidemiología es una ciencia básica de la Salud Pública porque sus fundamentos científicos permiten la toma de decisiones en los problemas de salud. Para controlar la calidad de la formación de los profesionales y perfeccionarla, se aplica el sistema de acreditación de escenarios docentes, proceso de gran importancia que garantiza la calidad del pregrado y el posgrado. En la Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de Villa Clara se realizó dicho proceso en la especialidad de Higiene y Epidemiología, fue utilizada la autoevaluación estratégica del escenario laboral como actividad previa. El interés de los autores es exponer el método seguido para cumplir con los requerimientos establecidos. Con la aplicación de esta matriz estratégica para lograr el estado deseado en el proceso docente de la especialidad de Higiene y Epidemiología en la Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de Villa Clara se logró una evaluación de excelente.
Epidemiology is a basic science of Public Health because its scientific foundations make possible decision-making regarding health problems. To control the training quality for professionals and improve it, the accreditation system for teaching scenarios is applied, a very important process that guarantees the quality of undergraduate and postgraduate training. At the University of Medical Sciences of Villa Clara, in the specialty of Hygiene and Epidemiology, this process was carried out; the strategic self-assessment of the work scenario as a prior activity, was used. To expose the method followed to comply with the established requirements, is the aim of the authors. By using this strategic matrix to achieve the desired state in the teaching process of the specialty of Hygiene and Epidemiology at the University of Medical Sciences of Villa Clara, an excellent evaluation was achieved.
