ABSTRACT

Abstract@#Allergic diseases can occur in all systems of the body, covering the whole life cycle, from children to adults and to old age, can be lifelong onset and even fatal in severe cases. Children account for the largest proportion of the victims of allergic disease, Children s allergies start from scratch, ranging from mild to severe, from less to more, from single to multiple systems and systemic performance, so the prevention and treatment of allergic diseases in children is of great importance, which can not only prevent high risk allergic conditions from developing into allergic diseases, but also further block the process of allergy. At present, there is no consensus on the management system of allergic children in kindergartens and primary schools. The "Consensus on Allergy Management and Prevention in Kindergartens and Primary Schools", which includes the organizational structure, system construction and management of allergic children, provides evidence informed recommendations for the long term comprehensive management of allergic children in kindergartens and primary schools, and provides a basis for the establishment of the prevention system for allergic children.

ABSTRACT

Research have indicated that inadequate keratinized tissue has a negative effect on patient oral hygiene, resulting in peri-implant inflammation. It has been recommended that an apically repositioned flap alone or in combination with autogenous soft tissue grafts can increase the width of keratinized mucosa around dental implants, which promotes long term peri-implant health. This review summarized research progress on augmentation techniques of keratinized tissue arround implants in recent years, so as to provide reference for clinical practice and research design in the future.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To investigate the effects of progranulin on migration and invasion of human colon cancer cells

Study Design: An experimental study

Place and Duration of Study: Department of Histology and Embryology, College of Basic Medical Sciences, Jilin University, Changchun, China, from October 2015 to July 2017

Methodology: Cell transfection was used to obtain progranulin knocked down/overexpressing cells. MTT and soft agar assay were applied to investigate the cell growth. Migration and invasion were detected using transwell assay

Results: Tumor growth, migration and invasion decreased in progranulin knocked down cells and increased in progranulin overexpressing cells. The decrease was recovered when exogenous progranulin was added. Progranulin-induced migration and invasion were inhibited by neamine

Conclusion: Progranulin has a direct effect on tumor growth, migration, and invasion of human colon cancer cells. It may serve as a potential therapeutic target for human colon cancer

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the correlation between human leucocyte antigen-G (HLA-G) 14 bp insertion/deletion (I/D) polymorphism and susceptibility to non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) as well as poor prognosis in NSCLC.Methods A total of 113 patients with NSCLC and 150 age-and sex-matched healthy subjects were genotyped by PCR to analyze the HLA-G 14 bp insertion/deletion polymorphism in them.Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) gene mutation in patients with NSCLC was detected by using amplification refractory mutation system (AMRS).Expression of HLA-G in NSCLC tissues was detected with immunohistochemistry. All patients with NSCLS were followed up to collect survival data, which were further analyzed with Kaplan-Meier method. Results The frequency of HLA-G 14 bp D/D genotype was significantly higher in the patients with NSCLC than that in the healthy subjects (x2=3.907, P=0.048, OR=1.66).Among the patients with NSCLC, HLA-G 14 bp I/I genotype carriers had a shorter overall survival time as compared with that of HLA-G 14 bp I/D or HLA-G 14 bp D/D genotype carriers (P=0.005).Patients who received chemotherapy or radiation had significantly shorter survival time than those received EGFR-targeted therapy (P=0.001).Among patients who were positive for EGFR mutation, HLA-G 14 bp D/D genotype carriers had longer survival time than those carrying HLA-G 14 bp I/I or HLA-G 14 bp I/D genotype (P=0.041).The expression of HLA-G was closely correlated with HLA-G 14 bp polymorphism in patients with NSCLC (P=0.001).Conclusion These data, reported for the first time, indicates that HLA-G 14 bp polymorphism might be a genetic factor related to the susceptibility to NSCLC and associated with survival in patient with NSCLC after excluding the interference of molecular targeted agents.

ABSTRACT

Objective The relationship between hypertension ( HTN) and ischemic stroke recurrence is unclear , but there may be different effects of HTN on the risk of recurrence .This study aims to explore whether HTN contributes differently to the recur-rence among subtypes of ischemic stroke ( IS) . Methods We eventually enrolled 1114 patients with ischemic stroke from Jul 2008 to Dec 2012 registered in Nanjing Stroke Registry Program (NSRP) in this study. All the patients were classified according to Trial of Org 10172 in Acute Stroke Treatment (TOAST) criteria: 315 (28.3%) patiwnts were classified as Large-artery atheroselerosis (LAA), 212 (19.0%) as cardioembolism (CE), 266 (23.9%) as small-artery occlusion (SAO), and 321 (28.8%) as other de-termined and undetermined etiologies ( Other) .The association between HTN and stroke recurrence in patients with different IS sub-types was analyzed using multivariate Cox regression analysis . Results The average follow-up duration was (19.4 ±10.3) months. Of 1114 patients with IS, 158 (14.2%) patients experienced a recurrent stroke .Patients with HTN had a significantly higher stroke recurrence rate than those without (16.5%vs 10.5%, P<0.05).Multivariate Cox regression analysis indicated that HTN increased the risk of ischemic stroke recurrence (HR=1.722, 95%CI:1.181-2.512, P=0.005).After stratification by TOAST subtypes, analysis revealed an association between HTN and stroke recurrence in LAA( HR=3 .767, 95%CI:1.866-7.585, P=0.001) and SAO (HR=3.530, 95%CI:1.156-12.740, P=0.028), but not in the other subtypes (CE: HR=0.773, 95%CI:0.370-1.615, P=0.493;Other:HR=1.498, 95%CI:0.590-3.807, P=0.395). Conclusion HTN is an independent risk factor for recurrent ischemic stroke and is related to the recurrent ischemic stroke in patients with large-artery and small-vessel disease .
