RESUMO

Cerebral infarction, also known as ischemic stroke, is a cerebrovascular disease with high disability and fatality rate worldwide. Despite comprehensive rehabilitation therapy on neural function, considerable patients may still suffer from motor functional disabilities, which directly affect their quality of life, ability of daily life, as well as increase the economic burden of patients’ families and society. Therefore, promoting the recovery of motor function is particularly important in patients with cerebral infarction, and this requires more novel therapeutic options in clinical practice. Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation is a painless and non-invasive therapy. Accumulating evidences suggest that repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation can effectively improve the motor function of hemiplegic limb after stroke, and thus improving the patients quality of life. At present, new progress has been made in the basic and clinical studies of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation treatment. This review summarized these advances in this field in order to be beneficial to clinical work.

RESUMO

Objective To sum up the observation points and nursing measures for patients with subclavian steal syndrome after stent implantation, improve the predictive nursing and reduce the occurrence of postoperative complications. Methods Reviewed and summarized the nursing process and experience of 19 cases after stent implantation. Included prevention from complication, discharge guidance, the close observation of vital signs and the changes of disease. Results All 19 patients were cured after stent implantation and no serious complication occurred. Conclusions Endovascular stenting is an effective way for the treatment of subclavian steal syndrome. meticulous nursing and prevention of complications can ensure the success of surgery in the process of treatment .

RESUMO

As the most homologic homologue of silent information regulator 2 of yeast, Sirt1 gene is extensively expressed in mature tissues, and is rich in early embryo and reproductive cells. It is involved in the regulation of gene transcription, energy metabolism and cell aging. It promotes fat mobilization in adipocytes and glucose production in liver and regulates insulin secretion in islet beta cell. Furthermore, Sirt1 gene is an essential endogenous apoptosis inhibitor. In future, it may be used as new drug targets or applied in other disease management modalities.

RESUMO

The disorders of DNA and histone methylation have a close relationship with the development and progression of tumors. Epigenetic regulation is critical in maintaining the stability and integrity of the expression profiles of different cell types by modifying DNA methylation and histone methylation. However, the abnormal changes of methylation often result in the development and progression of tumors. This review summarized the theory of tumor genomic and histone methylation, detection methods of methylation and their applications, and the clinical application of methylation as biological markers and drug targets.

RESUMO

Objective To construct human SREBP-1c-promoter reporter gene vector and to detect its function. Methods Human blood genome DNA was extracted and pGL3-Basic-SREBP-1c-promoter reporter gene vector was constructed.Furthermore, the function of SREBP-1c-promoter was confirmed by dual-luciferase reporter assay.ResultspGL3-Basic-SREBP-1c-promoter reporter gene vector was successfully constructed and the promoter activity was obviously repressed by co-transfection FoxO1.Overexpression FoxO1 inhibited the SREBP-1c protein expression. Conclusion FoxO1 repressed the SREBP-1c protein expression through inhibition the SREBP-1c transcription.

RESUMO

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To observe the effect of the experiential compound prescription Shenshuai compound medicine (SSCM) on acute renal failure (ARF) rats, and expose its mechanism.</p><p><b>METHOD</b>Male SD rats were allocated into four groups at random. Except normal group, the others were injected glycerin into the musculi to induce a model of ARF. At the same time, rats in normal and model groups were given a dose (10 mL x kg(-1)) of normal saline; rats in the other two groups were given verapamil (Vp) 40 mg x kg(-1) x d(-1) and SSCM 22.5 mg x kg(-1) x d(-1) respectively by gastric gavages. In this way they were killed at 24 h after injecting glycerin.</p><p><b>RESULT</b>In contrast with model group, SSCM and Vp could ameliorate the renal function of acute tubular necrosis (ATN) rats markedly, in a way protect the renal inherent cell ultrastructure such as tubular epithelial cell etc at ATN early-stage; especially SSCM could enhance NO contents in serum, and was reduce ET levels inplasma, evidently cut down TNF-alpha contents in serum, and was partly superior to Vp.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>It is indicated that SSCM can adjust thebalance of contract and stretch blood vessal active substance and clear away initiate inflammatory medium, consequently alleviate renal pathological changes, prevent and treat ARF.</p>

RESUMO

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To dynamically observe the effect of Shenshuai Mixture (SM) on repair of kidney in acute renal failure (ARF) rats.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Male SD rats were divided into 4 groups randomly, the normal group, the SM group, the verapamil group and the model control group. Except those in the normal group were treated with normal saline without modeling, all remaining rats, after being made into ARF model by intra-muscular injection of glycerin, were treated with SM, verapamil and normal saline respectively via gastrogavage. Renal function, renal pathology, mRNA expression of epidermal growth factor (EGF) and protein expression of proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) were detected once every day from the 1st day to the 5th day. Results (1) BUN and Scr levels increased markedly 24 hrs after modeling, but the Scr level in the two treated groups was significantly lower than that in the model group (P < 0.05). Compared with that in the model group and the verapamil group, renal function was better in the SM group on the 3rd day (P < 0.01), and approach to normal level on the 5th day. (2) Renal pathological changes alleviated in every phase of ARF in the SM group than that in the model group, especially part of tubule regeneration could be seen on the 3rd day (metaphase), and renal structure was rehabilitated on the 5th day (convalescence), prior to those in the model group. (3) At the 3rd day expression of EGF mRNA and PCNA in tubule epithelial cell (TEC) increased remarkably in the SM group, higher than those in the model and verapamil group (P < 0.05).</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>SM could promote renal tissue regeneration and rehabilitation, and shorten the course of ARF through up-regulating mRNA expression of EGF in TEC.</p>
